Welcome to our beautiful, private, rustic camp situated along the bank of the North Fork Chena River just 55 miles NE of Fairbanks lies the perfect camping experience just 2 miles from Chena Hot Springs Resort. We are located a 1/2mile off Chena Hot Springs Road, on the famous Yukon Quest Trail. Our camp is accessible to those exploring Alaska by vehicle, motorcycle, bike, truck camper, travel van or small RV. Come stay in one of our cute cabins, park or pitch your tent under the midnight sun – enjoy fishing, hiking, atving, berry picking, wildlife watching and more.

If you are looking for a peaceful,  and unique place to camp in the wilderness, we have the spot for you!  We offer seasonal camping May to September. Please be aware this is truly a remote camping experience!   We are 55 miles N.E of Fairbanks, Alaska.  Our camp is a little off the beaten path, ½ mile off the highway on a one-lane dirt road/trail... (famously known as the “Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race Trail”).  Our Beautiful, Private, Dry sleeping Cabin is perfect for 2 guests and has a queen bed.  The cabin is located right on the river, with a private deck to drink your coffee in the morning sun, and watch the river and wildlife pass by. There is also a charcoal BBQ, small table and 5 gallon jug of water for Hand and Dishwashing. Guests will need to bring their own water, food, bedding/sleeping bags, and cooking supplies.  The closest grocery/gas station is located 25 miles away in Two Rivers, so come prepared!   Don't want to hassle with sleeping bags?  We can supply linens for an additional fee.   This cabin is off-grid: NO electricity, heat or wifi/cell phone reception.

If you are looking for a peaceful and unique place to camp in the wilderness, we have the spot for you!  We offer seasonal camping May to August. Please be aware this is truly a remote camping experience!   We are 55 miles N.E of Fairbanks, Alaska.  Our camp is a little off the beaten path, ½ mile off the highway on a one-lane dirt road/trail (famously known as the “Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race Trail”).  This 16 x 16 log cabin is a stone throw away from the North Fork of the Chena River. It is located next to our homestead, and comes with lots of glamping extras. This cabin has electricity powered by generator, wood stove, and a fully  equipped kitchen with a 2 burner camp stove, dishes, pot and pans, coffee pot, some spices, and small refrigerator.  No indoor plumbing, however we do supply a 5 gallon water jug for hand and dishwashing.  Sleeps up to 4:  1 queen bed and 1 queen bed that is stored under main bed.  There is a communal firepit and picnic table.   All linens are supplied for this cabin. Our guests will need to bring their own food and water. The closest grocery/gas station is located 25 miles away in Two Rivers, so come prepared!   Please be aware there is NO wifi/cell service in our area.

If you are looking for a unique place to camp/boondock in the wilderness, we have the spot for you. This campsite is accessible to those exploring Alaska by Tent. Travel Van, Truck Camper or small RV (maximum length-25 feet).  Please be aware this is truly a remote camping experience!   We are 55 miles N.E of Fairbanks, Alaska.  Our camp is a little off the beaten path, ½ mile off the highway on a one-lane dirt road/trail (famously known as the “Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race Trail”).    Road conditions can vary based on weather - BE AWARE the drive into our camp is a one-lane dirt trail. Expect possible muddy, wet road conditions, we recommend All-wheel or 4 Wheel drive vehicles only. Our guests will need to bring their own water, food, and cooking supplies.  The closest grocery/gas station is located 25 miles away in Two Rivers, so come prepared!    This campsite is approx. 25 feet on a gravel pad with river view. It is next to the communal area and is also next to the River Cabin and Site #2. Please note we are OFF-GRID. NO Hookups, WiFi or Cell Phone service in area.

If you are looking for a peaceful and unique place to camp in the wilderness, we have the spot for you!  Come camp under the Midnight Sun right along the North Fork Chena River.   We offer seasonal camping late May to September. Please be aware this is truly a remote camping experience!   We are 55 miles N.E of Fairbanks, Alaska.  Our camp is a little off the beaten path, ½ mile off the highway on a one-lane dirt road/trail (famously known as the “Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race Trail”).  Gravel pad is perfect for setting up camp, along the River Bank. This site includes a firepit and 1 bundle of wood, additional wood can be purchased and a 5 gallon jug of water for hand and dishwashing. Our guests will need to bring their own water, food, camp, and cooking supplies. The closest grocery/gas station is located 25 miles away in Two Rivers, so come prepared!  This site has river view and is approx. 40 feet on gravel pad - some leveling required. There is a grassy field adjoining the space and there is a path down to the river between Site 2 and Site 1. This property is off-grid:  No power, Wifi or cellphone service.

A beautiful, peaceful wilderness hideaway with absolutely beautiful people as hosts. Rowdy and Milissa are the hostess with the mostest. They really make you feel welcome and appreciated. The property is stunning, hot showers that never run out of hot water and outhouses that are better than some flush toilets at other campgrounds we stayed at. The river running behind your campsite is an extra bonus we didn't expect. Absolutlely loved our time there, didn't want to leave, and Milissa and Rowdy made it even that more special. Five stars isn't enough for this location or for them - they really hit it out of the park.

Missy and Rowdy hosted my family for two nights and they couldn't say enough good things about the campground, the location, and the wonderful hosts. This place is a real treasure! Of all the campgrounds they stayed at during their two weeks traveling in Alaska, this one was their favorite.

Husband and I very much enjoyed our stay over the weekend at the cabin. Directions getting there were clear, the hosts were very polite and helpful and the views were beautiful. We are definitely planning to book again for next summer!

Great spot and great hosts. Rowdy and Missy meet us when we got there, showed us to our site and even had a special test for us. They also come to our rescue when we realized we bought whole bean coffee instead of ground. They have us a tour of their anaconda property. Tge weather wasn't the greatest, but they were, the spot was and the weekend was.

What an AWSOME piece of property with great hosts. The place has a little bit of everything, from tent camping to cabins, fire pits, out houses, showers, BBQ's and a soothing river with plenty of wild life around the property. It was also nice being so close to the Aurora Hot Springs for supplies and additional entertainment. Thake you Milissa & Rowdy for having us!

Fishing hole steps from the cabin brought catch after catch of very large arctic grayling! Hosts were helpful, warm and informative. They even helped net the kids’ first fish for them. Cabin was clean and bed was luxurious.

I’ve been in Alaska for 11 years now and this was my first camping experience up here. To say that it was everything I hoped for would be an understatement. Waking up to the sound of the river 20 feet from you was unreal and the hosts were incredible. Everything I could need was provided, even some great stories by the fire. I will definitely be back on my next “weekend away from it all” and strongly recommend others do the same. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful time! Loved the set up, really enjoyed our conversations with Missy and Rowdy. We had a perfect relaxing long weekend and would love to add this to our yearly travels. The creek next to the camp sites is wonderful! We recommend this lovely location to anybody!

Absolutely incredible quick camping trip here to test out our new gear and camping with our dogs. The space is beautiful, very peaceful, and we loved waking up to the rushing river next to us. The hosts are the kindest people you’ll ever meet and we’re looking froward to going back again soon!

Rented this cabin out for friends who were staying with me in Fairbanks. They loved it!! They loved that the cabin was right next to the river and they could hear it even with door closed. This was my fourth time here, their first, and Rowdy and Milissa were just as hospitable as ever. This time Milissa took us out to pick blueberries! There were so many we finally had to just stop. This was the highlight of their trip to Fairbanks. Best hip camp site ever!!!

We only stayed at Rustic River Hip camp one night but it was excellent. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful with information about the area. Their property was beautiful and charming! I wished we had more time to stay.

We had such a great time during our two night stay. Right on the river! We enjoyed relaxing in the day and visiting with Missy & Rowdy around the campfire at night. Their property is so nicely laid out and taken care of. They treat you like family! They have cute cabins we would like to stay in sometime soon. We even recommended our friends to come next week and they are excited too. The dog swam in the river til she dropped. Naps in the sunshine listening to the river flowing. We hope to be getting a couple days again soon because that’s where we will go. Thank you Missy, Rowdy, and Bean for sharing your sweet spot with us.

Milissa and Rowdy were the perfect hosts: knowledgeable, warm, and well-prepared! My friends and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Log Cabin. It was clean, cozy, and the right size for all 3 of us. The compound was beautiful, and we ended our last night toasting some s'mores by the fire. Milissa and Rowdy made sure we had everything we could need for our trip. Bailey the dog was also a highlight <3 I would return if I'm ever in Alaska again!

I can’t get enough of this secluded little getaway! This was my third time out here and I’ve recommended this place to all my friends. Missy and Rowdy work hard to make this such a welcoming and memorable experience. Each time I’ve gone I’ve had an amazing time and felt like family. I highly recommend their camp if you want a nice relaxing peaceful weekend or just a place to hang out with good friends. They are the best ❤️

I very much enjoyed to stay at the Hipcamp! Milissa and Rowdy put so much work and love in that place. You can see that. Everything lookes good taken care of and they are very helpful. We had a great time at the fireplace and Rowdy helped me with my Cmaper issue, since he‘s very experienced. We had a wonderful time there and would drfinitly go back!

Had another fabulous weekend at Rustic Riverside Camp. Missy and Rowdy treat you just like family. Invited us over to their fire pit and had a wonderful meal with them. I can’t say enough about these two and the beautiful riverside oasis they’ve created. This is the perfect spot to come to unwind right next to the river. The fishing is great too! My friend caught four graylings. If I could live here I would! You won’t be disappointed. They should be charging so much more for these rv spots and cabins. You better get in before they figure that out ;-)

Everything went well. Milissa and Rowdy are the best hosts I’ve ever met. They make you feel like family the moment you arrive. The camp is absolutely beautiful beside the river and everyone we met was great. I can’t recommend them enough!

We absolutely loved our stay at the log cabin. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely campfire and conversation with other guests and used the bbq to cook ourselves a delicious dinner. The location is beautiful, and only minutes away from Chena hot springs. 100% recommend the place.

I’ve been a member of Hipcamp for four years but this was my first time using it. I hit the jackpot! I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a peaceful beautiful camping experience, that will leave you wanting to stay longer. I hated leaving. Milissa and Rowdy were so hospitable. They showed me around their gorgeous property and it was quite apparent how much work they’ve put into it. The cabins are adorable and everything was decorated so lovely. I have my own rv but am seriously considering renting one of them for fun. The views of the river were to die for! And I even spotted a bull moose! You wont regret your stay here! I’m already looking to see when they have a space available for me to come back!

The view was amazing and the cabin was very cute. Nearby clean outhouse, hosts were incredible, didn’t use the shower house but it was a nice amenity. Roasting marshmallows then falling asleep to the sounds of the river were the highlight of my daughters weekend. Very close to chena hot springs and a day pass is less than $20.

Extremely great hosts to a paradise right in the middle of a jungle. Milissa and Rowdy will make sure to make your stay worth remembering. I would say, don’t think, just hop in to this river camp and you can thank me later. Also watch out for Bailey, the cutest dog on earth.

Best Camping Experience Ever!

This 3 day stay was simply the best experience ever. Milessa and Rowdy showed us the systems that allowed them to enjoy the off grid lifestyle. They took us on an ATV excursion of the surrounding cabins, and gave us the information we needed to enjoy the surrounding area, including the Chena Hot Springs and Angel Rock Hiking Trail. Their camping sites and cabins were first rate, as were their toilets and showers. This is heaven and the hosts were just outstanding.
