Description
Drift Fence is mainly used as a hunting camp, but it’s not like you need to rock a full cammo getup to enjoy this free campground. You’re more than welcome to just look at the wildlife too. At the Bridge Creek Wildlife Viewing Area just down the road, you’re likely to catch some elk grazing amongst the wildflowers. There are also a couple stocked ponds nearby for all you fishers. Whether you wear waders, cammo cargo pants, or just regular old jeans, Drift Fence is a pretty great place to camp on the cheap.
Drift Fence is only maintained through mid-November, so check for closures due to snow if you plan on visiting during the off-season.
Check website for closures.
Tip: The short access road might not be in the greatest shape. We’re talking pot holes, and lots of them. So check the ground clearance of your car, or at least how much you care about it.
