One Green Sheep is a 500 acre working farm north of Bindoon, Western Australia, with beautiful breakaways and valleys, patches of natural vegetation and old stand trees in amongst pockets of cropped land. We are just over an hour from Perth at the very north end of the Darling Range with enormous starry night skies. My husband Kim and I have a strong focus on the environment and sustainability in our every day lifestyle and care for the land. Over the last 10 years or so we have planted almost 67,000 trees and shrubs successfully establishing wildlife corridors right across the property. We now also have 20 artificial nest tubes to support the Carnabys black cockatoos who return each August to breed. Our intention is to leave the land in a better state than when we first came here and we now want to share the wonderful environment with others, providing a place to get away and recharge as well as get excited about nature and all its wonders. In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. This means you will need to have your own toilet facilities with you, you will need to take all your rubbish away with you and leave your car parked for the duration of your stay. As fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) you will need to purchase firewood from us for your stay. Please note that due to the Perth area now being in the Polyphagus Shothole Borer quarantine area you are no longer be able to bring firewood with you from the city. This is to safeguard our precious site and the surrounding bush. (Please get in touch with us if you aren't coming from Perth). Dogs are welcome but please keep them with you and don’t let them chase stock or wildlife. You are welcome to bring push bikes, or to explore on foot. We’d love to welcome you to this wonderful ecosystem. You will be camping in an area natural bush that feels a million miles from the city.

Birdsong Corner at One Green Sheep

100%
(27)
Motorhome/tent pitch · Sleeps 5 · Vehicles under 6 m
Birdsong corner – This is a site with options! You can either choose to camp in the open clearing looking down the hill through the trees, or tuck away beside an ancient old marri tree. Wake up to the sounds of the birds, the leaves rustling in the trees and the fresh clean air. The fire pit is waiting for you to set up and enjoy a drink listening to the sounds of the bush while the sun goes down and the stars come out. At night keep an ear out for the mopoke and an eye out for the owl who also lives somewhere in the bush nearby and if the moon is large, don’t be surprised if the magpies start up again once the moon rises. This is a great spot to enjoy a bit of star gazing. At One Green Sheep the environment is a big focus for us and we’d love to share it with you. Over the last 10 years or so we have planted almost 67,000 trees to build wildlife corridors across our farm. You might see kangaroos near the camp site area and on the breakaway country especially in the late afternoon and may be lucky enough to see an echidna or other small mammals. There is abundant bird life and plenty of beautiful bush to explore. The endangered Carnabys Black Cockatoos return to our farm to breed from early August and can often be heard calling in the late afternoons. In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. This means you will need to have your own toilet facilities with you, you will need to take all your rubbish away with you and leave your car parked for the duration of your stay. You will now need to purchase firewood from us due to the shothole borer quarantine rules, which dont allow wood to be brought in. As fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) please leave it undisturbed. After you’ve gone we shouldn’t see anything to let us know you have been there, apart from some ash in the fire pit. The old adage of Take Only Photographs, Leave Only Footprints is a good one. Dogs are welcome but please keep them with you and don’t let them chase stock or wildlife. You are welcome to bring push bikes, or to explore on foot. Please note that our shire has fire restrictions in place from October 1st until May 31st so no fires are permitted during this time. We look forward to meeting you.

Motorhome/tent pitch · Sleeps 15 · Vehicles under 6 m
Treetops view is a big campsite tucked away at the end of the road. It’s an open area with clear views of the sky, surrounded by natural bushland. With plenty of room to gather around the fire pit you can admire the view through the tops of the trees below, watch the sky change colour as the sun sets or plan your walks through the bush looking at wildflowers or searching for the spring nearby. Kangaroos and other wildlife are often seen in the afternoon and from August onwards you will hear the endangered Carnabys black cockatoos calling especially in the afternoons. At night enjoy the vast starry sky and keep an ear out for the mopoke who lives somewhere in this part of the bush. While you will be camping on a working farm, you will be in an area of natural bush that feels a million miles from the city. At One Green Sheep the environment is a big focus for us and we’d love to share it with you. Over the last 10 years or so we have planted almost 67,000 trees to build wildlife corridors across our farm. In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. Due to the polyphagus shothole borer quarantine rules firewood cannot be brought in at the present time. You will need to purchase firewood on site from us (either on booking or message prior to arriving to order) if you wish to light a campfire. Thank you for helping protect our precious old trees here. Fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) so please leave it undisturbed. After you’ve gone we shouldn’t see anything to let us know you have been there, apart from some ash in the fire pit. The old adage of Take Only Photographs, Leave Only Footprints is a good one. Echidna Hideaway at One Green Sheep

Motorhome/tent pitch · Sleeps 8 · Vehicles under 6 m
Echidna hideaway is a beautiful drive-through site tucked amongst the trees. If the kids want their own spot there are some small clearings where they can pitch a small tent. The fire pit is waiting for you to enjoy a drink and, once the sun goes down, to explore the vast starry sky. Keep an eye out for the kangaroos who often hop through the bush nearby and for the signs of the echidnas who dig at the base of the termite mounds you will see in the bush. There is also plenty of bird life and, from August, you will hear the endangered Carnabys black cockatoos calling. There is also a mopoke who lives somewhere nearby which you might be lucky enough to hear at night. At One Green Sheep the environment is a big focus for us and we’d love to share it with you.
