No communication with host
First off, I want to make clear that I am not the person who made the reservation, but was an invited guest by my daughter. We arrived after 2 pm as instructed. We arrived at an equestrian area that did not include signage for 'Hipcamp' but drove around until we were directed to the tent by a "student" (per host) The tent was relocated because of a camp that was happening over the weekend. After an hour of no contact by host, no email, no text, no smoke signals (we are in nature), we decided to take a walkabout. Ran into the same "student" who said that she (we're guessing the host) would be with us as soon as she put her horse away. Another hour later we have made our way back to our tent with no contact from the host. We still have not found where the bathroom or shower are ( We are country gals and will pee in the woods any time!!! but sometimes a girl needs a bathroom during certain days of the month)
I am not one to complain, ever! But, this upset me. As a small town business owner, this is NOT how you treat people. I understand the host was busy. But, if you can't offer some kind of check-in system with information to amenities (whether or not in a tent with gorgeous mountain views or in a
5 star hotel) then do NOT offer your tent up for rent for the weekend.
Needless to say. We packed up and left after 2 hours.
