This is a great campsite right by the creek! The host is lovely, the property is beautiful, and it feels so secluded and peaceful. It's easy to get to, and there's lots of space to relax and enjoy the creek. I definitely recommend stayed here!

Unless a lot of upkeep is done or the price drops significantly, I do not recommend this cabin. I was SHOCKED to realize when I arrived that there was an enormous gap between the amount I’d paid and the reasonable market rate for this cabin. This cabin cost 3-4x what I typically see in hipcamp or Airbnb for similar accommodations. Mistake was mine… we had a family emergency… needed a last minute booking, I clearly didn’t think it through well… here we landed. Whoops.
The surrounding nature is spectacular. But save yourself the money and just camp. The cabin smelled musty (until a ran the shower, then it smelled like sulfur) and was rickety and incomplete. Like… no doorknob on the inside of the door… our kids kept getting stuck inside. No door between toilet and “kitchen” area. Outside - decking and railing were rotten - BEWARE! Both seemed like a fall ready to happen to someone soon.
Again, the property is amazing. We tent camped in addition to renting the cabin, and I wish we’d just tent camped. It was a beautiful (but also, not well kept up) camp spot.

The creek was magical. Kids had a blast. (We encountered a large bald faced hornet nest, so beware!) So, so beautiful there.
I don’t recommend renting the adjoining cabin - it’s worth about 1/3 to 1/4 of what we paid for it. But the camping was beautiful! Close in to Shelton if you need to pop in for anything, but feels like you’re completely alone in nature.
When we visited, everything was quite overgrown. Doesn’t look like these camp sites are used often. The spot we used had a couple places for tents, but we checked out nearby sites and were a bit confused, didn’t see anywhere a tent could go. If you’re looking for something perfectly manicured and developed, this isn’t for you. But if you want to relax by a creek and hear and see only nature - this is it!

Gretchen is awesome she is as a person great to talk to. The land is beautiful and is as advertised. Gretchen is a super helpful host that actually stepped up and made a few phone calls to help me sort out a housing situation I needed help with. Shelton is a cute little country town. I dry camped out of my rv with my dog and two cats. My dog went swimming in the creek.

Highly recommended. As homeowners, we've rented nearly 500 Airbnbs, VRBOs, etc. This homebase in the wild & our hosts exceeded expectations. 5 stars. Details:
-A very clean & perfectly sized cabin in the beautiful remote wilds of WA. Sound of the creek running below the cabin, awesome skygazing with shooting stars, great fire pit. Gas, smoker & charcoal grills!
-Our hosts were incredible. Delivered surprises to us & were so friendly, generous & thoughtful. Wonderful people...created & respected our beautiful private space. Only visited upon request. Wish we had another night to invite them to a campfire meal!
-We are two best friends that felt like we had a homebase for living outside for 5 days. Q or K-sized bed downstairs + Q or K-sized bed in upstairs sleeping loft. Pull-out futon sofa that we didn't need to sleep on (but would accomodate more).
-Walk 1 minute to a serene creek perfect for cricking or chilling in provided lounge chairs.
-Newts, frogs, deer, little fish & other wildlife share the land and small ponds.
-Great deck overhanging creek with tables, chairs & loungers for sunbathing, yoga, meditation, meals, etc.
-~5-10 minute drive down dirt road to main road for groceries, produce & Spencer Lake Restaurant (great burgers & bar).
-We stayed on-site much of the time. Took day trips to nearby:
-- Olympic National Park (Lake Cushman for SUP & hiking).
--Hoodsport / Hood Canal (outdoor dining over the canal watching bald eagles & harbor seals).
--Harstine Island (one of WA state's best state parks, Jarrell Cove State Park is there)
Strongly recommend the hosts and their set-up.

Great host & huge property. Our site was perfect for a Sprinter & hammock, tho not a lot of room for a tent. As they develop the sites, it can only get better, but was perfect for us.

Gretchen is a wonderful host and pictures do not do the site justice. It's a sweet little cabin, perfect for our family of four, with a gorgeous view and easy access to a lovely river with fish, frogs, and mudskippers. The land is just wild enough to feel like you're escaping the city but you have all the amenities you need (shower with hot water, warm cozy bed) to be comfortable.
The land was gorgeous- just cleared enough for walking around but filled with foraging treats like wildflowers, horsetails, and salmonberries.
This is the perfect site for folks with young children, or anyone who likes to sleep in a bed but feel like they're in nature.

The creekside camping area was private and the creek itself was incredible! My kids were hesitant about our trip to begin with, but after only a few minutes of exploring, they were in love!

The view at this property is amazing. Trees wearing moss, a constantly moving creek, and completely private swimming holes. Great for exploring, or enjoy the peace from the huge deck. Host was so sweet and made us feel comfortable at check in. We slept on the deck to enjoy the stars but a bigger bed would make it better for couples. The shack is rough around the edges but has everything you need for a quick getaway from the world. We spotted deer, fish, birds, and frogs. Would definitely come back again.
