Nestled in the foothills of the southern Rhinog mountains overlooking the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, Hen Gwt Glowyr (Old Miners Hut) has outstanding views of Cader Idris and the surrounding countryside. Perched high-up in its own secluded 2-acre field and including a king size bed and hot tub, our shepherd’s hut offers the perfect romantic getaway. Plenty of stunning walking trails are on our doorstep and the historic town of Dolgellau and seaside town of Barmouth are both just 6 miles away.Located in its own secluded 2-acre field with uninterrupted 180-degree views of the surrounding hills, Cader Idris and the Mawddach Estuary, Hen Gwt Glowyr (Old Miners Hut) allows you to totally immerse yourself in the wild beauty of southern Snowdonia. Our brand-new Shepherd’s hut has been equipped both stylishly and comfortably, featuring: • King size bed • Dining/seating area • Double electric induction hob • Microwave • Fridge • Shower with hot water on demand • Underfloor heating • Fully insulated for all year-round comfort The Sheppard’s hut is located in a secluded clearing featuring: • Electric hot tub • Picnic bench • Fire pit For your convenience we provide bedding, towels, Faith in Nature soap and body wash. We also provide tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, porridge and muesli sachets so you can relax as soon as you arrive. For the fire pit we also provide logs and fire lighters. From your private parking space, a 40 metre stone footpath (illuminated at night) leads you to a gate and down to the Shepherd’s hut.

Shepherd's hut with mountain views

What an incredible spot! The views from the hot tub are amazing and the hut is really lovely, everything done to a high standard and the fridge stocked with essentials. Communication and directions were great too! Would 100% stay again and recommend.

Magical and luxurious

Shepherd's hut with mountain views

Absolute gem of a place , Jan’s instructions and directions were clear and easy to follow , the setting is to die for and our shepherds hut was beautifully appointed, cosy and with loads of thoughtful touches . Beautiful bed linen ! The hot tub was magical, overlooking the incredible views of the estuary and down to Barmouth . We’re definitely booking again and for longer xx what a find !!

Shepherd's hut with mountain views

Wonderful location - set in the hills above the Mawddach estuary with extensive views! Host was extremely helpful and brilliant communication. The shephards hut is warm, comfortable and has everything needed for a cosy stay including shower and cooking facilities. The hot tub with the incredible view was a highlight! We will be back again!
