Unfortunately this spot is right on the main road. It was SO loud the entire night and early in the morning. There was very little privacy and the couple who owned the house would occasionally walk over and look over the hill at random— they did in the evening and in the morning. With the little privacy, I made do and tried to change between my car doors and looked up to see the older woman right on top of the hill about to see my private bits. As a nurse, I’m not so fragile, but if you are way more modest, it could be extremely awkward and embarrassing. It is somewhat close to Newport and is on flat land but that’s about all the positives I have to say for it. Oh, and there are chickens that will come down the hill to see you. So if you’re scared of birds or chicken shit, I also would not recommend!

Easily accessible on rte. 77! Some traffic noise but dies down by evening. Loved the little hike to the Pond with kayak/canoe available to spend some time on the water. Firewood available for $8 was super convenient! Great hosts/great spot. Would highly recommend to others looking for a great spot on Tiverton.

We ended up upgrading to the site that was $20 more. The hilltop spot is about 15ft away from the side of a busy road which we didn’t feel like was gonna be suitable to get any sleep. The site down by the water though is absolutely stunning

The Stonewall Site
We loved tent camping at the stonewall site!! Our hosts were incredibly understanding about a late arrival, and were quick to get back to us regarding any questions we had. The land was absolutely beautiful and we spent hours on the pond paddling around in the canoe, and fishing. The camping site itself was spacious, and yes you can hear some road noise but it absolutely fades away into the background after a short while. 100% will be back, and would reccomend.

The place is fine. I slept one night, but it was considerably closer to the road than I expected, and it was slightly noisy. For the price I’m not really complaining.

We had a great time. It was exactly as described in previous reviews. Short, steep hike, a bit of noise from the road, but far enough away to feel in the woods. The highlight was the access to the pond, kayak and canoe. My kids enjoyed paddling around.

Not a bad campsite in itself but the listing should be more forthcoming about a few point. This is at best a pit stop. it’s in on busy road and even though it dies down at night it’s not quiet. It’s very buggy given that it’s close to a swampy area. And the campsite is a short but steep hike down. Just a couple of minutes but if you carry a lot of gear down it’s an exercise for someone strong and agile.
The area next to the water is fine but it’s a bit far and getting in the water is very muddy/swampy.

The upper spot is flat and under a huge beautiful tree.
I will attest that the road noise is more then your expect for a small country road.

We loved our short stay at the Hilltop site, just be ready for the street noise but was as advertised. The walk down to the lake was fun and enjoyed taking the kayak out to start the day before leaving. Would definitely come back!

Such a fun spot! Definitely a steep hike down, so pack accordingly. Road is loud but we got used to it. The walk down to the water is beautiful and we loved that we were able to use the canoe!

The site matches the description. The noise from the road kept us up, however we were in a tent. We felt it was not worth the price considering the proximity to the road and the lack of facilities such as a toilet.

Site was clean with fire pit and log seating provided. Unfortunately, the wood we ordered as an add on didn't arrive either night of our stay. There was some poison ivy around but most walkable areas were clear. Noise from traffic was expected due to the location, but earplugs helped as mentioned in other reviews. There were a couple of cars parked outside the area we were assigned, but was not an issue getting in and out. The pull off had lost some gravel leading to the road so we had to choose carefully where to enter, so we didn't bottom out. The path down to the kayaks and chairs was not clearly marked, so we weren't sure if we were in the right place. We only got about 1/3 down when we decided it was too steep/ dangerous to attempt going down further. We were looking forward to enjoying this area and knew it was not a simple path by previous reviews, but the steep grade and challenge was not expected. Also of note, previous reviews mentioned and pictured the availability of a pop up tent with a composting toilet thigh it is not mentioned in the site description. This was not on site during our visit. We brought our own, but this would have been convenient. We asked if a hose or other means of extinguishing the campfire was nearby, but we didn't get a response before our trip. No hose was visible, but since we didn't get the firewood, this was a non issue (we transported 5 gallons of water and a fire blanket just in case we had a campfire).

Great site! The hike in is steep as others have said, but only 1-2 minutes. (Might be rough if you have knee issues though.) The lake was beautiful for a sunset swim, and we mostly didn’t notice the car sounds from the roads. We would stay here again for sure.

Great affordable place to camp for a night. Love the fire pit and watching the sunset over the pond. My 13 year old loved the night hike down to the water as well. A little mucky at high tide but a great adventure close to home. The site is close to a road but felt safe. We camped in our Tesla which helped muffle any noise.

We really enjoyed our stay here… and will probably be back. Sandra was very responsive and friendly! The camp bathroom was nicer/cleaner than expected. Close to a busy road but otherwise a really nice spot. Highly recommend walking down to the water. Absolutely beautiful!

I was only here for a night (wish I had planned to stay longer!) but the site was great. It is next to a road, as the listing states, but the site is plenty big enough that you aren't extremely close to the road. If noise bothers you, definitely bring earplugs for the traffic. This was not an issue for me, but may be for others. This was a very comfortably situated site and although by the road and a house across the street, it felt private enough.

Nice and well cleared campsite set off 8n the woods with a very short walk to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the pond. A stone fire circle next to my Eno hammock made for a great couple of nights. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to bring some earplugs as the noise from the nearby road can get a bit loud at times but not enough to be a deal breaker.

The site was as advertised. Directly off the roadside. We enjoyed the sunset a lot. The site could be improved by adding a fence or extending the rock wall or adding some plants to give a bit more privacy.

Stephen and Sandra’s land was a joy to stay on for the night. Everything was exactly as described with added bonuses. Within a short walk down to the water, you’re greeted with a lovely view, a couple chairs to relax in and a kayak and canoe to take out on the water. Overall, our experience was memorable and we will definitely return if we’re ever in the area again. We were surprised by how quickly we forgot about the noise from the road. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

Overall it was a nice change of pace. It was a great way to get back into camping. It's a tough walk down and up. Not asthma friendly. It's in the woods enough to feel isolated but the street is loud. Got woken up by a very cute bobcat. I'm on the fence on the whole experience but definitely wouldn't say it was bad.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Stonewall campsite! Stephen and Sandra responded quickly to any questions we had and made our stay stress free. It's a steep walk from the car to the campsite and although you're further from the main road, it's still very loud. Loved being so close to the lake and taking the canoe out for a spin-- very peaceful!

Stonewall is down a pretty steep path from the road. The site is private and clean, has space for one or two tents, a fire pit, and some logs to sit on. The tent site(s) could use some leveling and the space could use some flat rocks or boards, if not a proper picnic table- it's hard to do anything off the ground there. You hear cars well, but you forget.
The outhouse is back up the hill. It is pretty clean, but not an excellent set up. It too is not on flat ground and is too near the road as well as the Hilltop campsite- not private enough. I've used these pop up tent bathrooms before. They're too small and you're essentially doing your business in a bucket. A proper outhouse would do.
We boated to this site. Being able to anchor my small 16' dory boat right there on the pond and then walk up the path to the camp site was amazing. This is the kind of thing I wish we had more of- something between the hordes of campers at the Fort Getty campsite and the ticks, garbage, and illegality on uninhabited islands in the Bay. That said, there is no real boardwalk. At any tide, the path down to and area down by the pond is very swampy. Getting in and out of the boat at any tide except high is mud city.
In sum, if the owners would put some funds back into the place, level the Stonewall site, give it a picnic table, create a proper outhouse, in a proper place, and then put in a raised boardwalk so you can actually access the pond without getting muddy, I would go there every summer.

This is a great little spot. It’s relatively easy to find, but it is also right on the road if you are in an RV. The camping spot looks great and more secluded. Very responsive and nice host.

We loved the site! It is a steep, though short walk to the site and was super private. You could hear traffic from the road, but that didn’t bother us. We enjoyed taking the kayak out and overall greatly enjoyed our camp experience!

It was okay. The only problem was that the camping spot is right next to a road with no protection of privacy. This would be okay if we knew up front, but the fotos made it seem like there is no road there.
