Grins & Pickin's CampFarm was created to share the outdoors with others. Growing food & flowers, camping & hiking is what we like to do. And we like sharing these activities. Our family oriented outdoor recreation facility offers primitive camping, $PYO$ produce during the growing season, homesteading activities & nature-based programs. The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls. In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflies. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods. We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river). We are located almost in the very center of Ohio, 4 miles from Interstate 71, exit 140 in the peaceful country. Only open on weekends, your getaway is on a 20-acre working farm that offers PYO food (during the growing season), fresh chicken & duck eggs, primitive camping, hiking, creeking, bluegill catch & release fishing, star gazing, a pollinator maze, frog habitat pool & Little Free Library. There is a nice trail alongside the creek with vernal pools & trails in the woods. The spring wildflowers are spectacular. You'll want clothing protection from the stinging nettle, wild roses & ticks when hiking. We like to play outside & have horseshoes, cornhole, & other games like croquet & bocce ball. We enjoy sharing the peace, quiet & abundance of nature here with dark starry nights, the sounds of frogs & barred owls with plenty of lightening bugs, dragonflies & butterflies. You'll want to bring a good supply of food & water as there are no stores, gas stations or fast food (ugh) places for 4 miles. We do have a small camp store with essentials, firewood, ice, supplies & others goods. Delco water is 50 cents a gallon. There are 31 large campsites located near the pond, alongside the woods, some open, some group areas. You may want to bring a sun shade canopy as the shaded sites get booked first. There are no hookups for electricity or water, no showers, no wifi but do have clean portapotties. We charge $5 per bike, $25 per carload for tent camping, $30 for popups, $35 for small rvs. These amounts align with wear & tear on the land, number of wheels & weight. If you are tent camping and pulling a trailer, please book under the pop-up camper selection. There are no addl. fees for extra people nor for dogs, holidays or peak season. We are a family friendly camp & people come here to for peace, quiet, relaxation and to enjoy the sounds of nature. If your group likes to be continually loud or inconsiderate with rowdy partying most of the night, then this is not the camp for you. Check in is at daybreak, check out is dusk. A state required registration form is at the house area/parking lot by the big pole barn upon arrival. Please arrive before dusk so that you can see where you are going & not accidentally drive over a firepit, site post, porta-potty or into the pond, lol. We also prefer to avoid driving at dark or delivering firewood thru the grounds since none of us likes headlights in our eyes & vehicle noise around the nightly campfire. Our rules are common sense. The most important rule is driving 5 mph so that we have time to brake for people & dogs playing, wandering chickens, the feral cats, and wildlife like baby bunnies & newborn deer just getting their legs. The 2nd rule is no glass containers - we hate flat tires & it hurts when we get broken glass in our feet/paws. The 3rd most important rule is that kids under 18 must be attended to at all times with an adult - there is a frog pool with 10' of water, the fishing pond is 8' deep & the creek can turn into a churning river from heavy rains. Trash in, trash out please. We like to help keep Mother Earth clean & have provided recycling cans for plastic & cans. A dumpster is provided by the big pole barn and if you will place broken metal poles out by the dumpster, our scrappers will recycle. Please do not burn plastic or Styrofoam with harmful dioxins that will contaminate our bodies, air, soil & water. The driving lanes are made of grass, not concrete or blacktop & it gets soggy during heavy rains (may have to hoof it in if the tiled fields haven't yet drained). In the event of severe storms & lightening, we always open the big pole barn up for immediate safe cover where you can enjoy board games or play with musical instruments such as a washtub bass, washboards, cowbells, small drums & glockenspiel. Within a half hour drive is the Heart of Ohio trail (hiking/biking), the Kokosing water trail (canoeing/kayaking/tubing), 3 state parks with swimming beaches & shooting facilities. Nearby water activities are listed on the bulletin board by the big pole barn. On holiday weekends, we offer scavenger hunts, contests for fishing, horseshoes & cornhole, game days and enjoy potluck dinners. We love celebrating Halloween In October (more info on Facebook). Country roads will lead you in from nearby Heart of Ohio and Ohio to Erie trails. 9 miles from Centerburg. Pack up a tent or hammock and kick back to enjoy some nature and a peaceful night under the stars. Borrow a fishing pole, play some horseshoes, hike and forage 10 acres of woods, stroll thru Pollinator Maze, Prairie Garden, Food Gardens and hang out at frog habitat pool. Fill up with Delco water.

We are 4 miles off of I-71 surrounded by country farmlands. We offer a gravel parking lot in a safe location. You are free to explore 20 acres of campsites, gardens and woodlands. Also available for sale is a $5 dozen of chicken and duck eggs; $7 bundles of firewood. Your RV must be self-contained. Per state law, dogs must be leashed. We do not offer any hookups and no connections to water, sewer nor electricity. Portapotties are available May thru October. There are no bathrooms, no showers, no wifi, no trash receptacles. Leave no trace is practiced here and we will recycle your plastic, cans and metal scrap. No glass containers of any kind are allowed on the property. There are 2 driveways to get to the parking lot. Please take the north entrance nearest the entrance sign that you can see from the street. The house driveway sits on top of the septic system and will not hold up to the weight of your RV. Please note that boondocking here is not an option during heavy snows or unplowed snow drifts. And the woods may be off limits during hunting season.

Located nearest to the fishing pond, the 2 person Lofted Barn is outfitted with 2 cots (holds 250 lbs.), picnic table, fire ring, cooking grate, spatula & sticks, tongs, a fan with light, inside locks, 2 screened windows with curtains & overhead storage. The farm is a peaceful, quiet getaway filled with nature, wildlife, food gardens, hiking trails in 10 acres of woods & a creek to play in. You'll hear bullfrogs, probably hear barred owls & maybe see a deer or 2 walking thru or the heron that flies in to feast on the bluegill. Since there is no blacktop or concrete on the farm in the country, you may need to walk in a short distance from heavy rains. We are a primitive 31-site camp with clean port-a-potties & do not have electricity & ask that you byo water. We are 4 miles from Interstate 71 and the nearest store or gas station. Warm Welcome After a Long Journey

This was exactly the kind of stop I needed after an 800+ mile travel day. The site was easy to locate, and the host went above and beyond from the moment I booked. They kept me updated on weather conditions during my long drive, which I really appreciated. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and given options for parking my setup. Before I even settled in, the host invited me in for a hot cup of tea and genuine conversation - such a thoughtful touch after hours on the road. They made sure I had everything I needed before letting me get comfortable for the night. The combination of excellent communication, easy access, and genuine hospitality made this a memorable stay. If you’re looking for a host who truly cares about their guests’ experience, especially after a long journey, this is your spot. Highly recommend!

Easy to find and park even in the dark. Christy was super nice and nobody bothered us while we were there. She had a porta potty which was nice and better than the one we had with us.

Christy was so sweet. We enjoyed meeting her and her pup Duke! The land is immaculate and we enjoyed the marked trail through the woods and her little halloween path. She has really thought of everything. The firepit was great! I also recommend her pear chutney!!! It is also nice that we could book for one night. Thank you for your hospitality Christy! We will be back:)

This gem of a place was a wonderful surprise! Friendliest hosts on a beautiful property that was perfect for stretching our legs and running the dog! We loved the native wildflower maze even though stumbling across the Halloween props at night gave us a spook 👻

Amazing place!

The Lofted Barn
