We have been host to the Carolina Canoe Club's Annual Week of Rivers Event for over 25 years! 2025 Season: March 31 – Oct 31 Rules for the Campground 1. 100 % Refund less credit card processing fee if you cancel before 14 days of your arrival date. 50% Refund if you cancel between 14 and 7 days of your arrival date. No Refund if you cancel within 6 days of your arrival date. 2. CHECK IN: 4 PM. CHECK OUT: 11 AM. 3. QUIET TIME. 10 PM - 8 AM 4. CHECK OUT PROCEDURES. Camp must be broken down by 11 AM on departure day. If you stay past time you could be charged for an additional day. Extension possible with pre-approval. 5. All Overnight Guests Must Pay 6. Trash must be taken to the Green Bins located at the lower corner of the upper field 7. No washing vehicles 8. PETS must be kept on a leash at all times. Please clean up after your pets and do NOT leave them in the campground unattended. 9. Please be respectful of other campers and the property. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate cancellation of your stay and you will be asked to leave the park. 10. This tent site is “primitive” - No water or electricity. We do have water spigots and porta potties scattered through the areas further from the bathhouse. There is a dish washing station with hot water on outside of bathhouse. We have a clean bathhouse with hot showers. Pets are permitted on a leash, and you must clean up after your pet. 24-hour laundry room for guest use. Fees are $2 pre load. Play areas with swing set, sandbox, horseshoes, volleyball, badminton, corn hole and a basketball goal. Board and card games available for guest use. Some sites are on the mountain stream – great for wading. Motorcycle friendly sites. Hammock areas: Eno Shed, Hammock Grove and some sites with hammock posts. The pavilion in the middle field has a big screen television hooked up to DishTV satellite and a wifi router for staying in touch inline, with comfy outdoor seating. Free Wi-Fi access available in 2 locations within the campground. One at the office and one at the pavilion. Signal strength is limited and not all sites will receive a signal. The campground is located in a mountainous area and therefore the cell service is spotty. When you enter Smoky Mountain Meadows Campground, you can leave all the “rush-rush” of your daily life behind. You will find yourself in a beautiful valley with quiet green meadows and a bubbling brook encompassing your surroundings. When you rise in the morning with dew on the grass, the birds singing, and the aroma of coffee brewing while bacon sizzles, you will feel a quiet peacefulness beyond your imagination. We have 36 designated primitive tent sites all with picnic tables and fire rings. These tent sites are “primitive” - No water or electricity. The campground was nice and well kept. Bath house was clean. There were a lot of motorcyclists staying this weekend, I think it’s because of the campground location. Site 25 was right and had a stump in the middle of it, but we called the office (even after hours) and they helped me get situated in another site that better accommodated us. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this campground to a friend!

Loved the campsite and campgrounds. Attentive staff, clean shower houses, and clean camp ground. Nice little (not overpriced) camp store that has ice and firewood if you need it. Also has a dishwashing area, was super nice to not have to boil water to do dishes. Will definitely recommend to any friends.

I tent camped here for 2 nights in the middle of the week. My site was very comfortable, next to restrooms and shower facilities, which were very clean. Even had a spot for my hammock! Was pretty quiet and started to get a little busier as I was leaving on Friday morning.. only complaint I had was some dogs across the street at a house that barked and barked and barked at inconvenient times (when trying to sleep) very nice views

A small creek flows nearby, and the site offers perfect privacy. The restroom and shower facilities are clean and well maintained. I would love to visit again if I get the chance.

Campsite was chill right next to a little creek which was really relaxing at night listening to the water and all the little frogs and such. Nobody really bothered us which I enjoyed. Fire wood and ice for sale on site was super convenient. One of the better bathhouses I’ve been in. SUPER hot showers with hot water available almost instantly. Located just a short drive from Bryson city and other creature comforts. Will be staying here next time I come to town.

Dogwood Cabin - Perfect

Dogwood Camping Cabin (Sleeps 4)

I stayed in the Dogwood cabin and it was perfect. The cabin was clean when I checked in and the bed (queen) was very comfortable. The bathrooms were also clean and it was nice having a microwave nearby. The campground was quiet. There seemed to be quite a few full-timer sites that weren’t occupied. Would definitely stay there again.

We will absolutely be back! We ended up staying on site 51/52 due to a mix up with site reservations. We got in late and had to call the host, Sarah, who was very kind and explained that they are still working thru some kinks since the change in management. We were bummed to not have the large site 44, but I think we lucked out. We had the whole straight section to ourselves, had a spot for a hammock, and the rushing stream was the perfect noise to sleep to! The bathhouse was clean, the campground was quiet, and the stargazing was stellar. After spending the day in the very busy National park, we were so thankful to be on this secluded area as opposed to staying in the Gatlinburg area. This was my partner’s first true camping experience, and he is excited to return to Smoky Mountain Meadows!

Absolutely amazing campground! would definitely camp here again! The bath houses were some of the best ones i’ve ever been in. The site we had was as right on the creek and as the sites can be kind of close together the creek drowns out any noise.

Worst Camping experience EVER

Absolutely the worst advertised campground I’ve ever been to in my life. They stated it was “creekside” ummmm nooooo!!! It’s basically a big open field with absolutely no privacy or shade. Picture Woodstock. The “barely there stream of water” was covered by trees at the campsite and there was basically just a huge mound of dirt where they told us to set up. We asked for a different spot and they said they couldn’t accommodate. We paid SIXTY SIX dollars for this tent camping experience on the creek!! We asked for a refund and they refused (otherwise, I wouldn’t have left a review at all. They should have made it right.) We luckily found a beautiful spot at Deep Creek Campground otherwise we would have had to drive two hours home!!! I would’ve rather “camped” in my own driveway. We’ve been all over the United States on camping trips and I’ve never been more disappointed in the misleading description and customer service. The owner ended up commenting on my google review stating I was entitled and rude and threatening to her staff. I. Had zero communication with staff. My husband spoke with Sarah twice regarding the situation and she was extremely friendly and apologetic. I sent an email to the owner after she refused to even partially refund the money…because there was no possible way we were staying there and she downright refused and stated she wouldn’t be “bullied” into a refund due to leaving reviews. It’s a 100 honest review.

Very nice quiet campground. It was clean with roomy sites. The bath houses were kept clean and tidy. The hosts were wonderful to work with! We had vehicle problems on the way down and had to come a couple days late and they were extremely accommodating throughout the whole process. 10/10 would recommend!

The host was very accommodating and helpful with the site location and everything that was located in the campgrounds. There are bathhouses, laundromat and playground on site. And wifi if needed. The site #43 for tent was located right next to a running creek which made for a tranquil, peaceful night of sleep with the running waters. This campground has an amazing scenic view and perfect spot for anyone touring the blueridge parkway.

The campground was quiet,with friendly residents. The full service sites are packed in pretty tight. But it didn't hamper our enjoyment. They do have water/ electric only .sites adjacent to a creek. Very nice

Had to leave family emergency. Never received a refund. Kind of a junkie place. Not very clean. I did try to set up had to move camper 3 times and still wouldn't work. Ground very uneven. Steps to camper wouldn't touch ground. That's how high it was on one side. Even after using blocks to help level camper.

What a lovely little campground! Surrounded by peaceful babbling brooks and beautiful forests, you will be lulled to sleep by the trickling sounds of running water. Minutes away from the wonderful little town of Bryson City NC, you will not find a shortage of attractions to keep you entertained for your vacation. We had a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to stay again!

Site 57 - Standard Primitive Tent (Creekside)

Nice spot towards the end of the campground, so away from most of the people. Directly next to a creek which made falling asleep very relaxing! The campground itself is nice with clean showers & bathrooms. It would be nicer if they'd clean up some of the old broken down RVs and building equipment, but that's really my only complaint.

Site 57 - Standard Primitive Tent (Creekside)

This is an amazing family friendly campground. The staff are super helpful, the bathrooms are clean, and there is garbage disposal available. I bought firewood from the check in office, snd slept in my hammock. There are three off leash (but contained) dogs that live across the street and they barked from the yard A LOT.

This campsite was a fantastic surprise! It was a bit confusing at first—especially the “open field tent camping” layout—but once I figured it out, everything made sense. There are a ton of amenities: the laundry worked perfectly, there are plenty of outlets in the common areas (super helpful for non-electric sites), and the WiFi was surprisingly strong! When I arrived, storms had just knocked out the internet, but the owner was very responsive and had it back up quickly—which was crucial since I work remotely. The bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily and always spotless. I was really impressed with the overall maintenance and care of the property. The location is peaceful and relaxing. I actually ended up extending my stay because I liked it so much. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, well-equipped place to camp, whether you’re just relaxing or need to get a little work done while on the road.

Some positives first- Convenient to Bryson City and the Natahala river. The shower house had great hot water water pressure and lots of places to put your clothes and supplies. A microwave and exterior dish washing sink was appreciated. Firewood though smaller pieces was only $6.00. My site #34 though was very rutted, roots and mud due to the creek overflowing. The only dry, flat tent spot was probably on the campsite next doors "'area" and close to their tent. I bailed a day early due to predicted rain and not wanting to get that muddy. I would put a gravel drive in and rent it to small campers/vans and not tents. It was close to a running creek producing pleasant sleep noise. I would stay here again if I could reserve some of the other grass creek sites.

10/10. Beautiful views. Outstanding staff. Super clean facilities laundry and bathrooms are really nice. The tap water is possibly the greatest water on earth. Close to all of the adventuring you could need. And town. Pro tip. Drive to Sylva for breakfast. Go to Lucy in the Rye….its about 30 minutes. But worth triple that. Place is outstanding.

Easy access, friendly owners. Peaceful spot, no fuss, no muss. Clean bathhouse, and restrooms. 10 minutes away from Bryson City (civilization; the nearest town), but far out enough to be away from the Hustle & Bustle.. Very fair priced. I would not hesitate to stay here, again!

We tent camped and it was absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking views all around us. The amenities were always nice and clean, (and heated which was perfect for the morning we woke up with a frosted tent). The camp had such a lovely community vibe, everyone was done for a little chit chat as you did the dishes. The campground hosts were so thoughtful as well stopping by for a chat and making sure we had everything we needed. If it wasn’t halfway around the world we would be back in a heartbeat!
