Trees, flowering mountain laurel and rhododendron help to screen sites from one another, adding to a feeling of privacy and peace. So, revive your spirit in one of our forest walk-to tent sites, shady, drive-to tent or RV sites, quirky shelters, or fully furnished rustic mountain cabins. Located in the heart of "The Land of Waterfalls", we have more than 250 waterfalls within 30 minutes of Ash Grove. Centrally located between DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest and Gorges State Park, we offer the perfect basecamp for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to hike, bike, ride horses, fish, kayak, paddle or even visit our local breweries! As we like to tell our guests, Ash Grove is located 15 minutes away from Awesome in every direction!

What a lovely, welcoming spot Mark and Esther have. We (my bf, pooch and I) spent two nights in our 18.5' camper trailer here in Techno RV Site #2 and it was quite perfect. We had no neighbors camped near us (mid-November and mid-week) so we felt like we were alone in the woods. But there are nice tree/shrub barriers between each site so I think it would have been fine if there had been. The bathhouse was clean and had everything you needed (including a timed heater and unlimited hot water) and the hiking trails on the property were a great place to walk the dog in the morning before setting out on our adventures. Communication was great from the hosts and they were there waiting for us upon our almost-late arrival. All in all, we felt this spot was great - and we'll probably be back. Thanks, Mark and Esther!

The Elf Shelf
I could not meet Esther unfortunately, but I can say that Mark was absolutely amazing. He showed us around when we arrived, gave us maps and instructions of fun activities to do and also how to be safe during the night at the mountains. We are from another country, not familiar with bears, and even though the encounters are kinda rare at the campground, we were afraid of that and Mark made sure to talk and explain everything to us, since before arrival. The Elf Shelf was a great little space, so cozy, such a great view. I can say that the weather curtains works very good. The bath house has very clean and well supplied, they also had a dishwashing station. Unfortunately for health reasons we had to end our trip a little bit earlier than expected and Mark was very comprehensive. I would definitely recommend this place and the hosts!

We loved camping here July 2025. The site was quiet and spacious. We saw 4 whitetail deer walking through the campground during our stay. You can not ask for nicer and more helpful camp hosts. Mark and Esther are awesome!! We pulled a 22 “ camper through the campground with zero issues and I guarantee that you are going to get your work out walking up the hills:).

The Elf Shelf
We loved our stay at the Elf Shelf! It rained most of the night and we stayed completely dry, it was perfect! The host was so kind and helpful and helped us find our site and the laundry when we arrived as well. It was the perfect little shelter to still feel like you’re really camping but have the luxury of not having to set up a tent and being protected from the elements!

Perfect oasis! I love a good private campground and this one is amazing! Hiking trails on the property. Little stream and waterfalls on the property. Access to WiFi was great. Minutes to pottery, produce, distillery, restaurants, biking, hiking, and Brevard! Wonderful, gracious hosts. We reserved a Techno Site (RV pad), but the cabins, shelters, and tent camping sites all looked delightful and well maintained. I can’t wait to return!

Aster Stellar Tent Site
We loved our time at the "Aster" site! Starting right at check-in, it's clear that Mark and Esther are experts at making sure their guests are well taken care of. Everything was exactly as described on the hipcamp listing! A few things to note: -We stayed at the "Aster" site, which is the closest to the cars and bath house. While most of the sites here are very secluded, this one butts right up against the next campsite, with just a privacy fence between the two. -Like they say on the listing, the drinking water is DELICIOUS. -The best perk of this campground is the location, with so many amazing hikes and waterfalls nearby! -This campsite does not have any trees strong enough to hang a hammock or a tarp. -We came in the middle of several rainstorms, and the site does drain well. However, it's completely covered by trees, so it does not dry out in the humidity. I imagine that the picnic table will stay soaked for days after a big storm. -Overall, I would recommend this spot if you want to stay close to the cars for easier load-in. You can see the parking lot from this spot, making it much easier to get everything to the site. However, every single other person will be walking right by the site every time they need the bathroom or their cars. For us, this was all hours of the night.

From the moment I reserved our spot thru our arrival and for the duration of our stay, our hosts were responsive, extremely helpful and available daily for any questions we might have needed answered. The campground is beautifully wooded, peaceful and great for the soul. In spite of some rain, we had a fabulous time and will definitely return in the future. Mark and Esther truly have a gem in this campground and have mastered the concept of hospitality.

The hosts were accommodating pre-trip when I had to change my booking. When I arrived, check in was easy, Mark provided maps and information on the camp and nearby attractions. Camp was well maintained, bathrooms were clean, hot showers! Great Campground!

We loved camping with our travel trailer. All the sites are pull through so no backing up on steep mountain hills! They also offer a dump station which is pull through. We enjoyed the suggestions of places to eat and shop but especially loved the waterfall guide. Mark and Ester were easy to work with and truly seem to care for their campers.

The campground is very cute, well organized and in general kept it very well. Mark was super friendly and helpful with all the explanations regarding the campsite, facilities, things to do around, fire supplies, etc.. The bathrooms are very clean and all went pretty smooth. The gnome house is a great idea for those that want a camping experience, but don't feel like getting up there on a Friday afternoon and build a tent. Plus, if you bring a heater, you can stay warm even in the colder season. I would highly suggest this place, me, my husband and our 2 dogs had a lot of fun and the area is just perfect for an outdoor weekend, with all the waterfalls and events going on around Brevard.

The campground is very wooded and lush. It was well thought out and not commercial feeling at all. Esther and Mark do a beautiful job maintaining it. Very shaded. They are lovely, friendly and very organized . I will definitely be returning in the Spring. I will also add that in all my years of camping their bath house was spotless. My daughter and I loved it💗.
