Kris’ room was exactly what I was looking fort It was affordable, cozy, and the land was beautiful. Kris was kind and helpful and interesting to talk to. I would definitely recommend staying at Kris’s house if you are in the area and looking for a simple and comfortable place to stay.

Kris' basement room was comfortable and cozy. We had everything we needed for fixing meals, and we also had access to an outdoor kitchen and shower. The property itself is beautiful and Kris was happy to chat with us about it (we were impressed to learn she built much of it herself with reclaimed materials - so cool!). Would definitely stay again!

Great glamping getaway
This place was a great stay. I was looking for a remote location with a bed and heating at a good price, and Kris' place hit everything on the checklist.
She also had wifi, a fridge and other small appliances, and a sink. For number 2, here was a composting toilet that I didn't need to use. For number 1, I went outside (which I'm used to).
Some added bonuses include: a spice rack, a small barbell and weights, and a movie and book collection. I ended up getting a few chapters into one of the books.
If you're looking to extract yourself from normal life and are content with semi-roughing it, this is a great place. I would definitely go back.
I did bring my dog as well, for whom Kris was a gracious host.

Welcoming host in a beautiful spot.
Kris is a fantastic host! Warm, welcoming, and an excellent communicator. Blue Heron is in a beautiful location and Kris will make sure you have what you need to be comfortable. We loved our stay there and only wished we could have stayed longer.

Great little house with a lawn spot for a tent. The outhouse was very clean and organized. The host was very kind and accommodating. The GPS location leads you to a home down the road, so drive past it and look for the Blue Heron Camp sign.

Quiet and beautiful
Our host Kris gave us a warm welcome and nice tour of the property. My brother and I camped for the weekend to go to a concert in nearby Peterborough. The Blue Heron Camp had water, showers, fire pit, a dish washing area and a great little kitchen.

Blue Heron Camp
Was lovely meeting Kris and getting a tour of her beautiful, sprawling yard and gardens. I was a fairly late arrival and very early departure so, alas, had to miss out on the heron nest tour. Appreciated the wooded site with a tent platform, plenty of privacy, easy access, nice little table and chair setup. Didn't take advantage of the shower or the eggs, but both looked appealing. Would certainly stay again the next time I'm in the neighborhood. Beautiful area.
