Creepy skylight, not as advertised
Booked this for our anniversary. Rebecca was responsive and kind, and let us check in early when rain delayed our original plans. That was the high point.
Know what you're booking: a guest house beside a private home in a subdivision, not a cabin. You park beside the driveway, cross their yard and a neighbor's, then descend a long, steep, uneven gravel path. It's poorly lit and unsafe at night for anyone with mobility, balance, or cardiac issues. Upon arrival the handrail crumbled from rot when I grabbed it and sliced my hand.
Inside, the chairs and sofa are comfortable. The bed left us both stiff and sore. The stair handrail switches sides halfway down, so you shift your load mid-descent.
Morning two, I went downstairs to nap in a chair and found the floor covered in millipedes.
HUNDREDS! We vacuumed several times daily and kept moving sticky traps. Rebecca brought treatment, which I appreciated, but it didn't work.
Also: condoms under the bed from a prior guest, dust and cobwebs, a loose outlet, rusted tea kettle, and an uncovered skylight over the bed looking into the hosts' house, meaning they can presumably see down straight onto the bed. Very unsettling!!!
I'd have said nothing. Then we were messaged about a missing towel & told we'd have to pay for dresser scuffs. I set sneakers there for under 30 minutes while unloading. That doesn't scuff wood. I have photos; this platform won't let me upload them.
Document everything on arrival, and don't expect a cabin.
