What did you do during the coronavirus lockdown? Learn a new language? Plant a vegetable garden? Eat your own bodyweight in raspberry swirl ice cream (asking for a friend)? Lisa and Phil created a glamping site. And what a glamping site it is.

Six miles from Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales, Copy House Farm is home to two perfectly appointed shepherd’s huts, with south-facing views and hot tubs from which to enjoy them. Inside they feature double beds, compact kitchen spaces and en-suite shower rooms, while every attention has been given to the finer details – think Abraham Moon fabrics and hotel-grade, pocket-sprung mattresses with a choice of summer or winter duvets. In the morning you can enjoy a Nespresso coffee as you plan your day’s activities; perhaps a walk along the Pendle Way, which runs through the farm, or a drive to Malham Cove or Gordale Scar.

One of the fantastic features at Copy House Hideaway is the way each shepherd’s hut has an adjoining log cabin, where the hot tub and extra seating is found. This seems to vastly extend the space and is excellent for cooler months, while a large sliding door also lets you open the cabin up to give a sense of being outdoors in summer.

From the complimentary “Out of Eden” toiletry packs to the milk and local butter ready-stocked in your fridge, Phil and Lisa also understand the finer points of hosting. Lisa was a long-haul aeroplane cabin manager for over 30 years before coming down from 42,000 feet and working in hospitality, so she certainly knows how to be a good host and is happy to help with pub recommendations, day-trip suggestions and good walking routes. And with the Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and Nidderdale AONB all less than half an hour’s drive away, you’ll never be short of options.

Bracken Hut is a beautifully appointed shepherds hut with adjoining log cabin with indoor seating and eco hot tub. The log cabin is built on stilts as has two large windows, one looking over a small orchard to the south and a larger picture window with views as far as Gisburn Forest and Ingleborough (one of the Three Peaks). Everything has been done to a high standard, with a Krups Nespresso coffee machine, Lloydloom dining chairs, Abraham Moon fabrics and hotel grade pocket sprung mattresses with a choice of duvets (summer or winter). The hut has a Hobbit log burning stove and a fully functioning kitchen area with an induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster and kettle. The bathroom has a heated towel rail, complimentary “Out of Eden” toiletry packs, towelling robes, hair dryer, shower, small sink and flushing toilet. The wood fired hot tub is housed in the adjoining log cabin which also has a seating area with panoramic views over the countryside and infra-red heating for when it gets cold. Outside there are seats and tables along with a fire pit which doubles up as a BBQ. Soft lighting sets the scene for a relaxing evening. Outdoor rugs, bed linen, towels, bathrobes and bike storage are all included. A starter pack of kiln dried logs are included, further packs are available by request. Amazing place to stay

We loved our stay at Bracken Hut! Very clean and hospitable - we really felt that we were welcomed there. Also it was such a quiet place with an amazing views.

We loved our stay at the Heather Hut! Amazing views (even though the weather didn't allow us to completely enjoy it, still was incredible). Our dog was really excited to explore the surroundings (always on a lead) and we even got a gift of some treats for her which she appreciated. Really quiet and cosy. We took advantage of the wood burner to warm the room but it's not necessary as it's really warm with the heater. Fully equiped with everything we would need for our limited time stay. The hot tub room, although cold (due to extreme cold temperatures at the time) was one of the highlights of our stay. Phil welcomed us and the communication was excellent from the start! We also appreciated all the information about the area and places we could visit with our pup. Can't wait to book again!

The scenery was beautiful as was the accommodation and hot tub. From reading the reviews it was everything we expected and more. We are looking forward to returning and would recommend.

Lisa and Phil are amazing host, really friendly and welcoming. The Heather Hut is the one we stayed in and was really nice/cozy with amazing view of the countryside. I payed extra to have the hot tub heat for when we arrived and it was the best decision as the hot tub stays warm the next day so great for a morning dip. Lisa provided us with bread and milk with refreshments which was really sweet! Xx Defo be coming back. Xx

The attention to detail is outstanding, clean, tidy, great facilities and views, we highly recommend Copy House Hideaway! The location is great too, really close pubs, walks, and a number of small towns to explore. Lisa and Phil were amazing too, super friendly and always happy to help. As we we took our greyhound cross, it was a relief that the lodges are in a dog secure field - Willow was a lovely doggie friend for our Rusty! We couldn't have been happier, wish we stayed for longer, already looking to book again later in the year.

Just returned from a 2 night break at the Heather hut at Copy house hideaway. The hut is situated in a great location with stunning views all around. Phil and Lisa were fantastic hosts and super welcoming on arrival! Both were really informative and covered all basis before leaving us to our own devices for the duration of the stay, only a text or call away if needed. The hut is packed with everything you may need and full of little touches which made it feel super homely e.g bread, milk, nespresso machine (a must for us!). Prior to our arrival Lisa offered to get the hot tub warmed up and ready to use and also provided welcome drinks. Our dog Dexter had a fabulous time playing with his ball on the field in front of the hut. All in all, a 10/10 stay - we loved every second. We plan to return and stay in the newly opened Barn sometime soon!

Me and my partner stayed there for two nights and we only wish we’d of booked it for longer. The views from the hut alone were amazing. It was spotless and had everything we needed. Well decorated, small busy cosy! Both Phil and Lisa were fantastic and were always happy to help! We was made to feel so welcome from the get go. It was such a peaceful place and we are already planning our next trip!

Nestled in the heart of England's countryside, just a stones throw away from the Yorkshire Moorlands and Pendle Hill sits a small, shimmering gem hidden in the hills; casting its eyes onto the sprawling landscape below. Picturesque, idyllic, awe-inspiring - and that's just the accommodation! My partner and I, accompanied by our pup, stayed for two nights in February and it couldn't be more perfect. It really was something out of The Holiday, if it was set up North! As we opened the door, a welcoming drink and readily stocked log burner awaited us, as well as the scintillating log-burning hot tub. We were lucky enough to be able to explore the surrounding area during our say - Wycollar Manor and Hardcastle Crags being a particular favourite. By day, birds swoop aimlessly over the fields and the sun shines radiantly on the patchworked landscape. By night, the town lights flicker and the stars jealously peer down at the hideaway below. Everything you need is here: beit a hideaway stay; a base to explore the best of Yorkshire and Lancashire; or a time to unwind whilst taking in the scenery. The owners couldn't do enough for us during our stay and were incredibly welcoming . The only downside to our stay was that we had to leave!

I stayed in the Heather Hut at Copy House Hideaway with my boyfriend in late February. I booked the stay for his birthday as he mentioned to me he wanted a relaxing break instead of a city break as we normally do! It fitted the bill perfectly, we stayed over storm Eunice so the weather was terrible but that just gave us an excuse to stay in the hut with the wood burner fire on, or relax in the hottub for the full 2 days! The hut was beautifully presented and the bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in, it was absolutely perfect. We arrived and the hottub was already hot, with a bottle of Prosecco chilling in an ice bucket waiting for our arrival. One of our hosts, Lisa, kept in touch with us to make sure we had everything we needed; even offering to bring us in supplies from the shop! She honestly could not have been more helpful, a wonderful host. It was a perfect serene getaway with the most stunning views and we have already recommended it to our family and friends.

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of February for my 40th. We were given the warmest of welcomes when we arrived. The shepherds hut was as beautiful as its location. The weather was awful during our stay - which meant we had the perfect excuse to enjoy all the hut had to offer. The owner had thought of absolutely everything so we hardly had to lift a finger. We loved the little touches too, they knew exactly what we needed to have the perfect stay. The bed was comfy, the fire was cosy and the kitchen area was perfect for making a meal easily. As for the hot-tub... Wow, what an experience. The water was hot when we arrived so as soon as we unpacked we got straight in. Total relaxation!! The hot-tub room was perfectly laid out with music, relaxing lighting, amazing panoramic views. Needless to say we spent our entire day in there enjoying the peace and tranquility whilst watching the storm outside. One night we ordered an Indian take-away from the local town and it was delivered right to our door....the food was amazing. (see welcome pack for restaurants details). The owners were so nice and really really helpful. They were so easy to speak to and Nothing was too much trouble. This is nothing less than the perfect place to stay, although I bet the experience is even better with nice weather. We miss it already and will definitely be staying there again.

Fabulous stay. Quirky. Immaculately clean, well equipped hut. Very cosy and warm. Weather was awful, very windy and rainy but we were lovely and cosy once in the hut. Very dog friendly, she even had her own bag of treats! Fab views from the hot tub. Hosts were friendly. We went to a couple of local pubs, food was amazing at the emmott arms

I honestly can’t recommend this place enough from start to finish it was amazing. The place is nestled in the countryside of earby. The couple that run the place couldn’t do enough for us and the added extras were truly amazing. I loved having the hot tub in a different section that was sheltered from the uncertainty of UK weather.. The shepherds hut was well equip and had all you needed for a few nights away. This place is an absolute hidden Gem everything about the place is perfect. The accommodation is immaculate cosy and comfortable and is so well equipped. We opted for a breakfast pack which was well worth it and excellent quality produce, not to mention all the little extras included. The attached barn with hot tub was amazing and we never got tired of the views, also the outside seating area was great ideal for BBQ and drinks. The owners were very friendly and explained how to operate everything, all in all a perfect place to stay.

Great place to stay. We've been only for two nights but will come back definitely for longer! There is a lot of things to do there. Beautiful views, great walks near around, fantastic Hot Tub, real wood log, BBQ, board games and book and piece of quiet... Lovely place, great to rest and be with the nature. Lovely owners, very helpfull and nice. 100% recommend that stay!

Have an enjoyable weekend even if the weather wasn't the best, both hosts where fantastic and very friendly. The outdoor area was really good and liked how you can close up the hot tub outhouse which was good as we came with our dog and could lock them in the outhouse with us while we was in the hot tub without having to tie them up. The Hut was lovely and warm with a comfy bed the added touch of a coffee machine was must appreciated in the morning, could do with some more clear worktop as it was a struggle to prep food inside the hut. Definitely come again hopefully on a dryer weekend so I can explore the local area more.

We stayed for 3 nights and despite the weather we had an absolutely lovely time. The views are breathtaking and Lisa and Phil are so welcoming. The hut is well proportioned and also well equipped. Coffee machine was lovely and the bed was snuggly and very comfortable. The hot tub is in a separate private building and this gave you privacy but also stunning views and a cosy atmosphere. We are booking again- first thing we did when we got home! 😀

We have just come back and can’t wait to book again! It was an amazing stay the hosts Lisa and Phil had really thought of everything to make your stay perfect from the lovely warm welcome they gave us to the way that everything was set up. The location is beautiful with gorgeous scenery and it’s close to explore the surrounding areas you are spoilt for choice for hikes and lovely pub food and then relax in the hot tub watching the sun set.

We had a weekend in the Bracken Hut with the plan of doing nothing but relaxing. The surroundings are gorgeous (we didn’t explore them, just admired from the sun lounger). The hut was equipped with everything you need and the small little touches including chilled beers and yummy biscuits made it feel homely and welcoming. Lisa and Phil were lovely and thorough on arrival and made sure we knew the score with the hot tub and appliances. Ooooh the hot tub…..just divine. Thanks for an amazing weekend 😄😄

We stayed at Copy House Hideaway in April 2021 after our son and his girlfriend stayed last year. We weren’t disappointed in any way; we had all we needed and Phil and Lisa were so helpful throughout our stay. The hut was so comfortable, the hot tub cabin was a real touch of luxury and the views were amazing in a beautiful part of northern England. We felt refreshed and relaxed as possible in these difficult times. I would highly recommend the shepherd’s huts as a fantastic glamping experience and hope to visit again soon!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Heather hut for two nights and had the BEST time! The hut had everything you could possibly need, with the nicest little touches like board games, fresh milk, bread, butter and the comfiest bed! Sparkling wine on ice and a steamy hot tub was waiting for us on arrival, and Phil and Lisa were there to greet us and show us how everything works. Honestly the nicest hosts and really helpful with everything! The views were amazing and the nearby walks and pubs did not disappoint. Even one afternoon when the weather wasn't great we were toasty warm under cover in the hot tub with a drink and some tunes. Really couldn't have asked for anything more, highly recommend for anyone after a little getaway!

I booked a couple of nights away for my partners 50th birthday in January, but due to COVID I had to move the booking to April which was just perfect! Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa and Phil. The change of booking went smoothly and everything I asked for (birthday surprises) were there ready for our arrival. The Heather cabin was clean and the bed is so comfortable. There was plenty of wood and extra if needed for the log burner, hot tub burner or the fire pit. It really was the most perfect couple of nights away. We will definitely return. Nearby attractions

The Pendle Way runs through the field next to the glamping site, making the place ideal for walkers (which takes in Pendle Hill, amongst other top spots). But while the local walking is excellent (and the views from Copy House Farm are sure to draw you out), for most people the real hiking attractions are a short drive away in the Yorkshire Dales. It takes less than 15 minutes to drive to Skipton (the delightful town, an attraction in its own right), from where you cross the national park boundary. It’s 25 minutes to Bolton Abbey, around the same to Malham Cove and a touch more to Gordale Scar, while walking the Dales Way up to Appletreewick (great pubs en route) is popular, with ample spots to swim in the River Wharfe during summer.

Food and drink

There are a couple of good pubs within a mile of the shepherd’s huts. The Craven Heifer (01282 843007) in Kelbrook is recently renovated in a modern style, with a separate bar and high-class dining areas (plenty of outdoor seating to rear), while Black Lane Ends (01282 863070), on the old road from Colne to Skipton overlooking the Pennine Moors, is an independent free house with an excellent reputation for food (served daily from 12–9pm in the two rooms either side of the bar). It’s particularly good for walkers on the Pendle Way, as is The Hare & Hounds (01535 631200) in Lothersdale, a popular community pub with a large main bar with fires at both ends. Four beers are always available on handpulls, one of which is "Lothersale Blonde". For a lighter daytime bite, try Utopia (01756 692522) at Broughton Hall.
