Hartridge Springs – Jurassic Glamping with Rare Vintage Trailers Tucked into wildflower meadows and ancient woodland, Hartridge Springs is a soulful glamping retreat near the World Heritage Jurassic Coast — home to one of the UK’s rarest collections of original American trailers from the 1940s and ’50s. These aren’t just vintage caravans — they’re icons of travel history. Stay in a 1946 Spartan Manor, once owned by Roger Daltrey of The Who, with a twinkle-effect starlight ceiling, plain wing seats, wood fractal-burn tables, air conditioning, and hand-finished birch details. Or step inside the 1949 Silver Streak “Minnie” Clipper, believed to be one of only seven ever built, personally crafted by Wally Byam, the founder of Airstream. We also have two larger Silver Streak Clippers from 1950 — aerodynamic beauties nicknamed the “Twin Alien” for their space-age curves. With fewer than 200 left in the world, these trailers are considered some of the coolest-looking caravans ever made. Each has been lovingly restored by hand. Elegant domes and luxury canvas tents complete the site — each with its own fire pit / barbecue, perfect for slow evenings under the stars. Facilities include a luxury eco toilet block with hydrotherapy showers, incinerator toilets, and a large wood-fired sauna adds to the off-grid indulgence. All water comes from our own borehole, providing pure Jurassic spring water filtered through 180-million-year-old rocks — crisp, mineral-rich, and flowing throughout the site. Just 20 minutes from the coast, we offer exclusive night fossil hunts to what many call the best beach in the world for finding golden pyritized ammonites, revealed under torchlight and tide and due to it being at night you get the whole beach to yourself. Nearby, explore a peaceful monks’ monastery, enjoy the region’s amazing local food — fresh, seasonal, and lovingly prepared by local restaurants and pubs. Hartridge Springs is where vintage Americana meets ancient Earth — a place to unplug, reconnect, and experience something truly rare.

This beautiful 1949 SilverStreak Clipper has just undergone a full interior refit Including an interior and exterior polish. We also fitted a stunning black charred wood floor. a fully fitted bathroom with shower, sink and Thetford toilet in keeping with the original aluminium theme. A bespoke kitchen has also been fitted with a better layout and a beautiful design. The bedroom has also been restyled enabling the bed to be changed in to a seating/dinning area with more storage space and finally the lounge has also undergone a new refit with both rooms having been retrimmed in a stunning hard wearing crushed velvet fabric.

This iconic and rare early 15ft bodied SiverStreak Clipper nick-named 'Little Eddie' has just undergone a full interior restoration starting with a beautiful new burnt black charcoal effect wood floor. A new bespoke kitchen has been fitted finished with cool frosted aqua perspex doors and a new aluminium bathroom with a toilet,sink and hot shower. The bedroom has also undergone a new refit and can be converted in to a larger lounge seating area as well as a comfy Queen size bed. The new kitchen comes with a 50 litre fridge as well as a new Airfryer for easy cooking, a sink for washing up and ample storage space. The front lounge/dinning area can also be converted in to a small double bed. The original interior's Submarine green paint has been fully removed to reveal the stunning rivetted aluminium underneath which has then been polished to a mirror finish.

The Spartan

This vintage 1946 Spartan Manor has lovingly undergone a full interior restoration including newly insulated walls and a beautiful black charred wood floor throughout. The bedroom/lounge dinner has been designed to give this Spartan Trailer a multi use appeal meaning you could turn it in to a Cocktail bar, VIP lounge, food dinner or other inspiring space. It also features a 38" Smart TV. The bedroom walls have been made up of bespoke aluminium tiles which brings the outside look indoors. The kitchen has been created to give more space but most of all not look like a kitchen.It includes a large fridge freezer, airfryer, loads of cupboard space and 26" TV mounted in the cupboard which angles to the living room and the window for outside viewing. Flowing from the roof past the stylish aluminum sink in to a comfy chair complimented by a huge Timothy Oulton Aviator aluminium cuboard The kitchens dining area, which also converts in to a bed sleeping two, was made out of a plane wing to signify what this Spartan would have become had the war continued. Fitted with Bluetooth Sony stereo system including amp, sub and Focal speaker system. The living room / double bed can also be fully removed if required and can fit 6 comfortably. Its also been fitted with Solar power with new power inverter and a new Truma heating and airconditioning system which is fully climate controlled with three pop hatch sunroofs. The toilet/bathroom has a hot shower and flushing loo.
