Pod and bell tent glamping in woodland on the edge of the North Wessex Downs

***1 night stays available on request subject to availability*** Set in 10 acres of private ancient woodland on the Hampshire Berkshire border is our small and unique glamping site. On the edge of the Wessex Downs in the AONB one of the last dark places in England our beautiful Glampsite is 45 minutes from London 5 minutes from the Historic Highclere Castle. Two sweet little vintage styled pods and 3 huge 6m themed bell tents are set in magical clearings throughout the woodland. With everything you need for a self catering stay including all cooking eating and washing up equipment, bedding and towels, we provide our guests with a lovely comfy glamping stay whilst staying true to the camping vibe by drawing our guests outside with private under cover cooking areas containing gas stove and BBQ, private bathrooms right next door with hot showers and flushing loos, private outdoor seating areas and fold out z beds for the children to make themselves!! Of course the adults get the comfy double beds! We are perfect for families, groups and couples alike and are completely dog friendly! For families there are excellent farm parks within easy driving distance. The historic Towns of Newbury and Hungerford are set on the kennet and Avon canal and meet the river Kennet and both host a wealth of antique shops, independent shops, bars pubs and historic buildings, plus the lovely Victoria Park with it's little boating lake. Finkley Down Farm (01264 324141) is excellent and The Hawk Conservancy Trust (01264 773850) are both just 15 minutes away and the south coast only 40 minutes. Four Kingdoms Farm Park (01635 269678) is the closest. For most people, though, it's the walking and cycling that makes the North Wessex Downs so popular. Climb Beacon Hill or wander across famous Watership Down. Woolton Hill hosts an excellent market just 5 mins walk away on the last Saturday of every month. The Bombay Sapphire distillery (01256 890090), located in fantastically atmospheric old buildings, offers tours daily – best to book in advance. And finally of course there's magnificent Highclere Castle (01635 253210). It opens for tours through July and August but outside of these peak months you'll need to check ahead for specific dates.

***BASED ON 2 ADULTS SHARING AND UP TO 2 CHILDREN 12 OR BELOW ONLY AS THE PODS ARE COSY. THE CHILDREN'S BEDS TAKE UP THE FLOOR SPACE DURING THE NIGHT AND PACK AWAY IN STORAGE DURING THE DAY. IF FULL HUMAN OCCUPANCY THERE IS NO ROOM FOR DOGS!!!*** Our pods each have an outside decked seating area and a communal outside undercover seating area, communal brick built firepit, each with their own flushing toilet, shower and sink so no sharing facilities. Each pod has has electricity and heating, plus a cooking station containing gas stove and BBQ, crockery, cutlery, pans, BBQ tools, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and bottled water (although all water onsite is drinking water). All bedding and towels are included. Guests have full access to the 10 acre woodland where they can forage for wood and kindling. We also have deer, foxes, the occasional badger and resident owls which you can hear most nights. Bats also roost in the trees above the site and you can feel and see them flying around in the evening. Ducks and chickens also roam freely. We also have a large feral cat colony! Local attractions include: 4 Kingdoms Farm Park, Finkley Down Farm, Beacon Hill, Highclere Castle (aka Downton Abbey), Watership Down, and the market towns of Hereford and Newbury. The local village market on the last Saturday of every month is very good. You may also like to visit The Living Rainforest, The Watermill Theatre, Snelsmore Common, Newbury Racecourse, West Berks Museum and the Bombay Sapphire distillery which hosts tours in its awesome old premises. There are three lovely local pubs within walking distance – The Rampant Cat, The Furze Bush Inn and The Highclere Red House. There are also many beautiful walks. There is also a very old flint church and a park. We are only 40 mins from London and 40 mins from the seaside. We are open all year and I am most always on site to help we charge from £105 to £115 per pod per night from Nov to Feb, £119 to £129 march to June and Sep to Oct and from £125 to £149 per pod per night from Jul to Aug. During the winter period guests are free to stay as they please but during the summer period we ask for a minimum stay of 2 days on the weekend, 3 days on a bank holiday. We also charge a premium of £149 per pod on valentines day, or valentines day weekend, mothers day, new years eve and bank holidays which fall in the winter period. dogs are absolutely welcom

Situated in its own private clearing surrounded by beautiful woodland, it sleeps 2 adults and up to 4 children and comes fully equipped for a self-catering stay. Everything you need is included: all cooking, eating, and washing-up equipment, bedding, towels, and access to private bathrooms right next door with hot showers and flushing toilets. Each tent has its own covered outdoor cooking area with a gas stove, charcoal BBQ, and private seating, while off-grid touches like a log-burning stove, whistling kettle, and cool box keep the camping spirit alive. There is also a communal fridge freezer with ice blocks and charging points! Set within 10 acres of magical woodland, the Bell Tent invites families and couples to explore, build dens, and spot wildlife. Guests are often greeted by our friendly chickens, geese, ducks, and peacocks. With comfy beds for adults, pull-out z-beds for kids, and a real firepit for evenings under the stars, this is glamping with a true woodland vibe. Dogs are welcome! We are a completely dog friendly Glampsite! The tents sleep 2 adults and up to 4 children. The Moroccan Bell Tent sits to the side of the main clearing where the pods are situated, in it's own private clearing looking into the main clearing. Everything you need for a self catering stay is included ie: all cooking eating and washing up equipment, towels, bedding and of course private bathrooms right next door with hot shower and flushing loos. Each unit has it's own under cover cooking area with gas stove, charcoal BBQ and private seating area. The tents are off grid so have log burning stoves, whistling kettle, cool box and communal fridge shared between the 3 tents . Whilst we provide everything you need for a lovely comfy glamping stay, we stay true to the camping vibe by drawing our guests outside to sit around their firepits, under cover area, outside cooking area, bathrooms next door to your accommodation and fun z beds for the children to pull out and make themselves of course the adults get a comfy double! Everything on site is drinking water, no need to bring bottled water! We are perfect for couples, families and groups alike and are super safe for children to run wild and enjoy the woodland. Guests are usually greeted by our pet chickens, geese ducks and peacocks. We loved our stay in Claire’s Shepherd’s Hut. The setting was quiet and well thought out, with great facilities. The shower was really good. We loved the fire pit too. The area is great for beautiful walks and we just loved the experience.

The Bedouin Bell Tent

A blissful 2 nights in the Bedouin tent. We chose that tent as it is under the trees. Our small clearing was beautifully shaded by the tree canopy. Lovely to roam the woods and land. Our two small dogs seemed to love exploring too Well equipped Claire was very receptive to some small suggestions we had to make it even better

What a place for relaxation two days we was here was abosulete bliss real camping experience without the fear of getting wet everything was clean and tidy lovely settings surround u and well built pods looking forward to coming back in the summer

Daisy Pod

We stayed in a pod for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely, relaxing time in our pod and wandering around the surrounding woodland. The pod contains everything you can think of, and the bathroom next door is amazing, with a flushing toilet and one of the best showers I've had in a long time. We enjoyed our evenings relaxing and chatting around the camp fire before retiring to one of the comfiest beds we've even slept in. Our dogs loved the place and were made to feel very welcome, particularly by Tony the Great Dane!

The Bedouin Bell Tent

Me and my two teenagers had two lovely days chilling in the wonderful woodland environment. Our Bedouin tent was so well thought through with touching details. Claire was so helpful and friendly. It was a treat. Thank you.

Lovely little campsite. We stayed in a pod. Everything provided, gas hobs, cutlery, plates, fridge, tea/coffee, kettle, toaster etc. Owners very friendly and welcoming, and we fell in love with their gentle giant, Tony the great Dane. Own shower and flushing toilet, all very clean. Don't forget to bring your torch. Very relaxing, comfortable stay.

The surrounding woodland meant there was loads of space for the kids to explore, and amenities were clean and well equipped. A hot shower was also a luxury.

Amazing Weekend away! Loved every minute of it! Claire was really nice and helpful and Tony, the Great Dane absolutely won our hearts over and our frenchies as well! Beautiful time away! Xx

Bluebelle Pod

Claire and Adam were lovely hots. Claire communicated via text on the day. Adam met us on site to show us around and was very helpful. We also met their lovely dogs! 2 sausage dogs and a massive Great Dane puppy! The pods are located in a lovely clearing in the woods with a fire pit in the middle. Each pod has a gas grill and coal BBQ outside under a wooden awning, great for Al fresco cooking. The pods themselves are compact but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bed is great for 2 people with lots of blankets and cushions to keep you warm & cozy. The pods have a heater too but they really are warm, even on the cold wet night that we had. If you are tall the bed might be a bit short so bear that in mind. Shower & toilet facilities are fine and clean, just a few steps from the pods. Full flushing loo and full shower, but not the warmest, and if you are tall the shower cubicle is very cramped. Overall a lovely stay and great value for money.

We loved Hollington Park, it's a great introduction to camping guaranteed to convince even the most reluctant camper. The facilities are excellent, clean as a whistle and handmade with style from the woods. The woods are great for romping around and waking up to the dawn chorus was a real treat. The bell tent was huge, lovely comfy bed and all the bits and bobs you need to rustle up a lovely meal around the campfire. Totally recommended.

I stayed in the tent with my daughter and my 19 month old Grandaughter. It was an excellent weekend and would recommend the Bell tent rather than the pods if you need a little extra room The owners were friendly and very helpful My Granddaughter loved the woods and the animals Thanks you for a lovely weekend camping

Lovely grounds better then expected, very pretty. Owners very friendly with two super cute doggies. Stayed in the Bell tent very spacious clean/tidy. Lots of nature and woodland around which makes it feel secluded and private (advice, take your insect repelllent). Relaxed atomosphere . Toilet and shower areas clean. 15-30mins walk to local pubs but check days and times for food. Everything available to cook your own food at the campsite inc gas hob/bbq. Did get quite chilly at night would have been nice to have had some coal provided to keep the stove and fires going as only had minimal amount of kindle and damp newspaper. Campsite gets very dark glad I brought my own tea light candles, they do provide many candle holders and lanterns but all of the candles had been used and no fresh provided. Overall lovely place would stay again.

We had a really great night in the beautifully decorated bell tent set in fabulous private woodlands. It was set away from the pods in a private area with everything you need including bedding, towels and all cooking equipment. The owners were so lovely, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit.

It’s also home to the lovely Victoria Park with its little boating lake. Finkley Down Farm Park (13 miles) is excellent and, not is not far away from The Hawk Conservancy Trust (15 miles). Bucklebury Farm and Deer Safari is about the same distance and Four Kingdoms Farm Park is the closest (seven miles). For most people, though, it's the walking and cycling that makes the North Wessex Downs so popular. Climb Beacon Hill or wander across famous Watership Down. Hungerford, eight miles away, is full of old antiques shops and pubs. Food and drink

There are four pubs within walking distance – The Rampant Cat, The Furze Bush and, in Highclere, The Red House (all within two miles). The Red House is closed on Mondays and doesn't serve evening meals on Sundays, but the food is excellent and there are plenty of ales on tap. A little further is The Pheasant (three miles). If your stay coincides with the last Saturday of the month, you can pick up local produce from the farmer’s market at Woolton Village Hall in the mornings. For other basics, head to the village shop and post office that’s a little further up the road (one mile) or into Newbury (six miles) for supermarkets and a bigger selection of shops.
