Wake up with morning coffee or tea to an incredible view of nature and mountains. There is an abundance of wildlife to see, such as red-tailed hawks that soar directly above and dive through the hills. You will also spot plenty of hummingbirds and the occasional golden eagle. While we have rare sightings of bobcats and coyotes, they are elusive and typically avoid human contact. The Farm is located in northern San Diego County, perfectly nestled between the greater metropolitan areas of Los Angeles/Orange County and San Diego. From the property, you can enjoy expansive views of the entire San Diego coastline, as well as the snow-capped peak of Southern California’s highest mountain, San Gorgonio (11,503 ft). Located just 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the property’s climate is moderated by a gentle coastal breeze. The farm is situated on a "miniature mountain" that rises 1,500 ft above the nearby valley, creating not only a spectacular vantage point but also a unique microclimate. This ocean moisture nourishes our 20-acre avocado grove and 60 acres of native chaparral, which features the beautiful Manzanita—a protected species and a true treasure of the California landscape. The nearby Santa Margarita River Preserve, located just minutes away, provides hikers with access to an extensive trail network along the river. Because the area is shielded from development by the Cleveland National Forest, there is no traffic noise—just the cleanest air in Southern California.The Secluded Safari Tent is nested into a hill side in a natural setting with no view of any houses or structures. Isolate yourself from the hustle and bustle of the city in the natural retreat. Wake up to the birds singing and watch a hawk sail over head. The Safari tent has a luxurious bed and all the amenities to keep you comfortable: hot shower and sink, composting toilet house outside, solar power station, lights, cellphone charger, mini-fridge, induction stovetop burner, basic cookware and plates, silverware, cups, etc. All the bedding, towels, soaps, cooking oils and spices, coffee and tea, are provided. Enjoy time on the deck or climb a neighboring boulder. On the drive out to the farm there is an excellent hiking trail along a river at the Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve.
