Outdoors@Hay is an outdoor activity centre with camping and accommodation set in 3 acres of level paddocks on the Welsh side of the England/Wales border at the foot of the Black Mountains. Just 1 mile from the market town of Hay-on-Wye and the river Wye popular for canoeing, wild swimming and picnics

At The Top Camping

Entire camping field for private groups of up to 10 prople. Minimum price £60 per night for 2 to 4 people, additional guests at £15 per person per night. A family friendly, quiet camping field situated on the edge of the Black Mountains in rural Herefordshire with views of Offa's Dyke and the Cat's Back. Ideal for walking, canoeing and escaping to the countryside. Places to visit include The Golden Valley, Hay-on-Wye, Abergavenny, The River Wye, LLanthony Priory, Brecon Beacons.

With the Black Mountains as a backdrop, At The Top Camping field is a true escape to a scenic location. Nearly wild camping, basic facilities of a warm shower, cold tap and a Treebog composting loo system. Bring your own torches. There is no Wi-Fi and mobile signal is patchy. Pitch your tent, sit back, relax and enjoy the peace of the surrounding countryside. Fire pit on site with logs available to buy @ £10 per sack, there is a cooking grill and two park bench tables on site.

Dogs welcome, there is fencing around the field but dogs have escaped before! Therefore, please ensure you can control your dogs, there are sheep in adjoining fields.

Owners live on site and will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Glan Y Mor Camping

Glan Y Mor is a small family run farm in Pembrokeshire with a beautiful woodland campsite overlooking the Pembroke river estuary with views towards Pembroke Castle. We are ideally located close to local amenities, cafes and restaurants but also amazingly secluded and private. We offer an environmentally friendly and well maintained site with careful attention to detail.

Red Sky at Night Campsite

If you’re lucky, you’ll get to see at least one of the amazing sunsets at Red Sky at Night Campsite near Monmouth – but if you don’t, there’s mighty compensation in the shape of the spectacular views from just about everywhere on the site. And of course, on clear nights, the night skies are diamond-bright with stars. 

This family-run camping field on a livestock farm is managed on very laidback lines. Pitch up wherever you like and feel free to park by your tent (weather permitting). Raised campfires are allowed and you can hire firepits and grills (the owners sell local eggs, sausages and pork chops) and buy kindling. You can bring your dogs too (take them for walks in the adjoining woods) but just be sure to keep them under control around the animals.

Kids are certainly carefully looked after here. Get a fact sheet on arrival and join mini-campers in wildlife hunts through the trees, looking out all the while for buzzards and red kites. Round and about the site, your offspring can entertain themselves on rope swings, making dens and following a mini-tractor course across the camping field. There’s also a football pitch. 

Wild camping this may be (there’s no electricity on site, please note) but there are two nicely designed compost loos and a covered sink areas with fresh water tap. So bring your guitar, light that fire, break out the barbecue and enjoy the chilled vibe.
