Tiny Tywyn may not be as well known as the old resort towns along the West Wales coast, such as Barmouth and Aberdovey, but this seaside spot in southern Snowdonia is absolute dynamite when it comes to coastal camping.
Such a great site! Nestled on the mountainside, very natural setting, fire pits and special flat areas for vans. Host was so very welcoming and friendly. Exactly what I'd hoped to find. The walks directly from camp were stunning, lots of different routes to choose from. For families there were self-guided nature activities on site too. Will definitely be going back!
Lovely hosts. Easy to find. Peaceful place. Woodland and grass pitches. A compost toilet. River running through the woodland. Absolutely enjoyed my stay and will return. A wonderful campsite.
Absolutely beautiful spot. The river running through was the cherry on top. Feels very wild with only a couple of other campers which we barely saw. 100% recommend :)
We loved camping here! Pridie was super friendly and very informative about her land and surroundings. She took the time to chat with us and made us feel very welcomed. The Land is beautiful and can’t wait to come again the summer.
What a wonderful, peaceful camp- all to ourselves! Dreamy. A proper wild camp, no running water and a compost toilet but so peaceful and George the horse is gorgeous
Henbant is an incredible place for so many reasons, if you’re just looking for the basics of a campsite in a stunning location it ticks all the boxes but it doesn’t take much rooting to see it’s way more than that, the spirit of community and harmony with the land Matt and Jenny have nurtured is a thing of beauty, the ethos of life there shines through in every nook and cranny, we only stayed for 2 nights, not long enough, and we loved every moment, we’ll definitely be returning to the most inspiring, life affirming place we’ve encountered in north wales, big thanks Henbant, see you again soon x
An outstanding place to camp for a "wild camping" experience, but with some extra creature comforts, in one of the most beautiful locations in the UK.
I can't recommend it highly enough, particularly for a family or relaxed trip.
The land at Henbant and community at are precious. The camping pitches are simple with access to the basics you need, and there are small cabins built into the land that are gorgesous and cosy.
The values and vision of the Hanbant community are an inspiration and well worth supporting.
Oh my goodness. This site was simply magical. We were blessed with beautiful weather, but I’m sure no amount of rain could take away from this beautiful place. Pridie clearly loves and cares for her land.
The pitches are large and well laid out, maximising privacy, it was quiet when we were there but I imagine it never feels “busy.” A fire pit is a great addition and the wood bundle was brilliant value for money. The composting loos were fab, the shower facilities basic but clean and hot! Washing facilities were great with eco-friendly washing up liquid provided. Plugs with USB in the Byre (where washing facilities are) for charging your tech (but hardly any signal - bliss.)
We missed Pridie’s walk but overheard a bit of one and chatting with her she is clearly extremely knowledgeable about the land she cares for and I would definitely sign up for a walk next time we go.
So many beautiful walks on your doorstep, with helpful walks highlighted in the Byre for you to explore, which was really helpful and led to us discovering some stunning walks nearby.
This will be one of the very rare sites which we will revisit.
We had a fabulous time camping at Hill Fort. Stunning views and great facilities. John could not do enough for us. We would not hesitate to return and would thoroughly recommend!
With views of across Cardigan Bay towards Bardsey Island and Pwllheli, campsites in this area are known as good spots for sea kayaking and dolphin spotting, as well as for exploring the mighty mountains of North Wales.
