Cleghorn Farm is a mixed farm just north east of the market town of Lanark. Comprised of 250 acres of fields and woodland and bounded to the south by Mouse Water, it is a beautiful spot to get away from it all without having to leave it all behind if you don't want to. The fields are grazed and cultivated but the woodlands are much as they were at the end of the last ice age with spectacular walks along Cleghorn Glen with the chance to see badgers, bats, deer and all manner of birds among the towering pine and beech trees.
The Mouse Water (pronounced moose) tumbles down along the edge of the farm and has some glorious pools for swimming, shallows for paddling and some spectacular water falls before it joins the River Clyde, all a gentle walk from the sites.

We stayed in the cabin . We popped some wood into the log burner on and just listened to the wood crackling away, very peaceful and relaxing. We walked the woodlands , which our dog especially enjoyed .had a bbq ( which is also provided) and put the firepit in that evening. It was bliss . Definitely be back

Its a lovely rural location but also just outside Glasgow, a brilliant place to stop and rest if you're heading into the big hills.

Nice place. Had everything we needed. The highlight was the dog not having to be tied up. Just wish we brought a fire pit as it got a bit cold so we had to retire early. The pitch was nice and private and the views were great.

The hut was a perfect stopover on our way to the Islands. Simple and charming. Lovely sunset and we cooked a great meal on the wood burner. Host was great. .

It was amazing! The view of the surrounding fells and farms was so tranquil and peaceful. Andrew was a friendly and helpful host. The property was beautiful and there was a good community of campers there that socialized over breakfast. There were also trails on the property that we didn't get to. I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone that is going to Scotland

Very friendly staff. Easy to find. Great facilities. Lovely walks right at back of premises.
Only downside for me was the noise off other campers. People turning up and setting stuff up after 10 pm. Also loud group of lads. But I’m use to wild camping so maybe noise would be acceptable for most.

Andrew was an excellent host, and shared a bit of history about the location. We had stunning highland views from our Motorhome pitch. The food was delicious and the amenities were clean and in great condition. There are plenty of options for glamping and camping on this site as well as Motor Home pitches. I highly recommend this location.

A very chilled campsite set in beautiful scenery.
My daughter loved the freedom to roam around this site and enjoyed petting the docile rescue dogs Izzy and Basil that live there. Breakfast in the house a nice touch with tea, coffee, cereal, toast, jam etc help yourself style. I didn’t venture to use the showers but there were plenty of toilets available and a sink for washing dishes in. I would definitely come and stay here again.

This cabin is very cute. Excellent value. Great views, lovely bedding. Simple but really thoughtfully done. Highly recommend. Small wood burning stove inside and fire outside. Very simply equipped ( nice) but everything you need. Nice compost toilet.Outdoor sink with water supply. Great decking around cabin.We were lucky enough to have sunshine and watched sun go down. We threw some pork chops and tomatoes on the outside fire ( bought from excellent farm shop at the nearby Tenby service station ) and boiled potatoes and asparagus on the wood burning stove inside and had delicious meal with bottle of wine. Had place all to ourselves. What’s not to want. Our dog loved it too ! Will return. Perfect to break journey if you travelling up further north Scotland as we were, or just relax for a few days.
