We offer off grid camping pitches and simple glamping on our farm. Stays here are low impact, with space to switch off properly for a few days.
Set within 15 acres the pitches and glamping units are very well spaced out so it never feels crowded.
ŷ Llewelyn is situated, just outside Llanidloes in Powys, Wales. Within the Cambrian Mountains, just 15 minutes from The Hafren Forest and Clewedog Dam and a scenic 35 minute drive from The Elan Valley we are the perfect central location to explore from. So many walking and cycling routes to enjoy then come back to a stunning, off grid base at the end of the day.
What to expect from an off grid stay
Stays here are better for people who enjoy campfires, stargazing and birdsong rather than bright lights or on site entertainment. Power and lighting are limited, so you will want to bring warm layers and a torch, and be happy with simple facilities. In return you get peace, space and time outdoors in Mid Wales.
The great thing about holidaying in Mid Wales is that you are central to everything. Fancy a beach day? no problem, we're just over half an hour away from the University town of Aberystwyth. Here you can take in the breath taking scenery of the coastal path or just enjoy lazy days on the beach. On the way to the coast you could stop off at Bwlch nant yr arian, and don't forget your bike!! With so many trails heading out into the spectacular scenery of the Cambrian Mountains you would have to come back for another stay to get through them.

Guests to Rhos y Gallt describe the campsite as a little gem of a site - small, quite and tranquil with wonderful sunsets. The site can accommodate up to 5 caravans and 10 tents situated on a level 2 acre site within the beautiful rolling hills of Montgomeryshire in Mid Wales.
There are hard standing pitches with electric hook-up as well as grass pitches with and without electric hook-up. There is also a field bordering a river which is used for wild camping - but you'll have to share it with the sheep!
The toilet block has a family wet room with shower, toilet, wash hand basin and baby changing unit, a separate toilet, shower and kitchen area with freezer.
The site borders a river meadow where visitors can wonder down and take a walk down with the river bank, relax by the water edge, throw a few skimmers, do a spot of fishing or even go wild water swimming (at your own risk!).
Well behaved dogs are welcome (maximum 2 per unit).

Craving a peaceful time filled with wildlife watching, long walks and relaxing by the water? On the banks of the River Severn, Baldwin’s Brook Glamping in Gloucestershire fits the bill.
This small site is a wildlife haven adjacent to the Severn Way, a long-distance trail which traces the river downstream. Birdwatching prospects are excellent here, and there’s plenty of peace if you’d rather sit and relax by a firepit or check out the stunning views and sunsets. The site is part of a working family farm with lots of livestock.
From the farm, it’s a 45-minute walk to Frampton on Severn, which is home to the longest village green in England and the lively Frampton Country Fair (think funfair… and 400 stalls full of good stuff). Baldwin’s Brook Glamping is also half an hour’s walk away from the Cotswold Canal Trust Visitor Centre by The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal if you’d like to grab a spot on a boat trip or sip a coffee by the canal.
When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave which races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year.

Cwmwye Camping is a small greener camping club site based just outside builth wells. The River Wye is only a short walk from the campsite where you will find the wye valley walk that runs north to south. On site we have communal fire pit, washing up area,gas shower and two compost toilets. Price of pitch includes firewood for fire pit.
We have lots of lovely walks around us and cycling routes including cycling route 8 which goes right passed the campsite entrance.
We are a greener camping site and it is £12 for membership which can be organised on arrival. Only one person needs to be a member with in you're group.

I really like that every tent spot is far enough from the other so we have privacy. Also the fact that every spot has been levelled and with a fire pit is amazing!

A lovely site with all the amenities you could need, showers, toilets, communal kitchen/bbq area, hookup and water.
Lovely hosts with a peaceful site, on our last morning our host made a lovely full English for us which was brilliant! Everything we needed they accommodated for (we forgot our gas tube and they let us borrow theirs too).
A truly lovely place, will be returning.

I may have found my favourite camping spot! Being midweek it was quiet, just as I like it. The site is beautiful, full of wildlife (I saw an otter, a heron and more), and has a relaxing river ambience. There is a train line but I loved hearing the sound of the old rails and the trains were sparse. The breakfast van was open on our last day, fueling us with sausage and egg rolls for our trip home. Lovely friendly owners. I am tempted not to say these things to keep this gem of a site to myself. Thank you.

Loved this beautiful campsite amid stunning local surroundings. The river was a bonus during the heatwave! Would recommend a walk to the top of Panpwnton hill too, in the shade of the trees, rewarding you with exceptional views across the valley once you reach the top.
Roxanne was very helpful while being hands-off so we could get on with enjoying our stay.
Even though it was a bank holiday and there were lots of guests, there was plenty of space for our two tents and the campsite was very peaceful and respectful.
The facilities were great and the Offa's treats van was a nice addition, providing us with much needed ice cream and coffee.
Would highly recommend this campsite!

Everything about here is what we wanted.
The 2 showers are very clean. The 2 toilets are very clean. There is a room with a fridge, microwave and sink ect which is very clean. The grounds are VERY well kept. Not a huge campsite which is perfect for what we wanted... although you have the option of camping in the joining field were the sheep are too! The river running along side the field was so lovely too! ( bring a couple of little rods as there are fish). The owners are lovely too! They pop down each day to check in and make sure you have everything you need. When we first arrived our electric adaptor wasn't working so without hesitation John offered us to borrow his for the weekend.
Couple of things to make note of.. the showers are on a £1 per 5 minutes ( wasn't a problem for us as a family of 5).
There isn't a local shop but there is a large tesco 25 minutes down the road (although the lady next to us got a Morriston food order delivery the night she arrived which we will be doing next time)
Its a dark campsite at night so make sure you bring your torches and put up your fairy lights ❤️

Great stay over the bank holiday weekend. Lovely flat site that was really well maintained throughout our stay. We were greeted by John with the fire pit we had ordered, along with a large tray of logs — plenty for a full evening around the fire.
The toilets were cleaned and maintained daily, and the whole site had a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. There are also some great walks along the river nearby which made it even better.
Would definitely recommend — 5 stars!

Plenty of land to pitch up without feeling squeezed in, even on a very busy hot bank holiday weekend. The facilities were adequate and the food van served great icecream. The town is within walking distance and has a selection on pubs and takeaways.

We arrived with our self converted camper for the weekend to trial it out- we had no idea our van had the wrong type of electric hookup port on the van but our host kindly helped us with extension leads etc. which was very generous otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to stay! We really enjoyed our stay with Stef and Ian with four friends sharing the yurt (one double bed and two camp beds pre-made for us).
The private space is secluded from other parts of the farm and the views are beautiful to wake up to each morning.
We really appreciated the facilities available, including a pizza oven, bbq, sink with running water, electricity, hot plate, dishes, cutlery, wooden bench seating and a private compost toilet. We also had access to the main shower and toilet block, just a short walk uphill and the onsite bar and honesty shop (great for a top up of fire wood).
The only thing that we would have benefitted from is an area of shade or tarp that could be pulled over the seating area, as we lucked out with the weather being so warm!
Thank you both. We would definitely recommend and may very well be back for a return visit in the future.
