Absolutely loved the extra touches like being able to use a fridge-freezer and the snack and honesty box (I hope my girls put enough money in!) such a shame we had to leave early but the weather was just too awful but we will definitely be back another time.

Weekend Trip to Smugglers Cove Boatyard

The site is in a fantastic location, the boat had everything we needed, the site facilities were very good, the woodburner was wonderful, we loved seeing occasional trains go past, our reactive rescue dog loved having the beach areaa to himself. A problem was sorted out within half an hour.

Lovely campsite, in a lovely setting. 10 min walk into Knighton, 30 minute drive to Llandrindod Wells. Fire pits available to hire, lovely toilet/shower block. I’m sure we will be back 😀

Weekend Trip to Cwmffrwd Farm Campsite

This is a really lovely campsite. The pitches are far apart around a beautiful meadow with amazing views. We spotted lots of wildlife in the meadow (grasshoppers and butterflies) and up high (birds of prey). Pirdie is friendly and very knowledgeable, she recommended a wonderful walk to some waterfalls that was just right for our young children. Facilities are clean, there is one shower and flushing toilet in the same bathroom, the rest are compost loos, so it is more of a back to basics vibe, but this was great for us and more than worth it for how peaceful and spacious the site is. We would love to come back.

Camped for three nights over the May bank holiday, three of us and a dog. The site and facilities were incredible, Stef and Ian were lovely and so helpful. We picked a bad weekend weather wise and so the Leyland Arms was a god send! The whole place was spotless and has everything you could possibly need. We'll definitely be back!

Camping at panpwyton farm was excellent.the farm is within the hills of Shropshire with great views. Plenty of places to go walking. With a river running through the campsite which my lil one enjoyed playing in most of the weekend. Enjoyed the wake-up call of sheep first thing in the morning. Def be returning soon. Quiet, remote location (the birdsong at dawn is extraordinary) yet very close to Machynlleth. Warm welcome from Liz and Nick. Great facilities in the converted outbuilding, including a small loft area to sit back and relax. Nice view from the camping field across a valley. In short - a real find.

4 nights at Smugglers Cove Boatyard

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on The Hannah! The location is absolutely stunning and the boat stay was a brilliant change from our usual tent camping. After a few bumped heads from the lower cabin inside, we quickly got used to life aboard. The boat is well equipped with plenty of your basics and some thoughtful additions (including a cool looking radio/CD player). Sophie was a brilliant host and very quickly sorted out a query for us (thank you!!!). Pretty much all of our time, though, was spent outside soaking up the stunning views, watching the birdlife (including one the local Ospreys!) and cooking on the firepit. In the evenings we regularly heard a Nightjar and Tawny Owls, it really was wonderful. The information pack emailed to us recommended a train trip from nearby Penhelig station to Barmouth on the Cambrian Coast Line. We did this and would recommend this too! Beautiful journey with gorgeous views on either side. If you’re looking for a break away from the usual, it’s definitely well worth a stay at Smuggler’s Cove.

This was absolutely right up our street - quirky, amazing views, relaxedn with a great ambience from the record player (cant beat a bit of Matt Monro!). HIghly recommend as an unusual stay away from it all. Our dog loved it as well.

The Red Lion makes a splendid base for aviation and wartime history buffs, with the heritage centre nearby and the displays and memorials of the International Bomber Command Centre a 45-minute drive away. Most importantly, it’s at the back of a friendly pub (which has varied winter and summer opening days and hours, but is always closed on Mondays). We are a Quiet family site, with a Reduced Noise policy from 9 pm, and Quiet Time from 10 pm to 8.30 am. Our site has close links to the A6 and m6 J33. We are only 13 miles from the Historic city of Lancaster, the Bright lights of Blackpool and the jubilee city of Preston. 4 miles from the first fair trade market town of Garstang and 45 mins into the Lake District. There is also lots of interesting activities to do locally.
