This peaceful, sheltered site has a special character. The site is the ideal place to unwind with plenty of safe space, a meandering river and friendly atmosphere. It offers 4 acres with facilities, 7 acres of wilderness, shower block, level pitches, picturesque river, children’s playground and has been rated AA 4 star gold pennant.
Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge.
Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!

Redruth (five minutes) is conveniently close to hand too, with pubs, cafés, supermarkets, a cinema and a railway station where you can set off on car-free day trips. Even closer to home are a dog-friendly pub, a discount supermarket and a play park (at North Country) – all of these are within a handy 10-minute stroll.

We're Sam and Lisa (and our two kids, Aluna and Lyra), and we're building this place slowly and properly, because we live here and we mean to stay. You'll find two homes so far: Fyxen, a Lotus Belle bell tent available seasonally between April and October with a wood burner and a view that changes with every hour of light, and Trēowbur (not quite finished yet!), a tiny home tucked beneath an old sycamore. Both are named in Old English, because this land has been here far longer than we have, and it felt right to borrow the old tongue.
Arrive, and the moor does the rest. Nights here are properly serene, just stars and the odd owl. Mornings bring mist off the river and birdsong.
Sit outside Fyxen at dusk with the woodburner ticking and you'll understand why we only leave when we have to.
You're a short walk from the Dartmoor Inn, which cooks meat on a roaring open fire and does the best scallops we've ever tasted. Longash is close enough to Tavistock for its market and shops, and surrounded by walking straight off the pitch, moorland, ancient woodland, the stone row, the river. Bring boots. You'll use them.
What makes Longash different is scale and care. This isn't a big site, it's a handful of pitches on a smallholding we're building with our own hands, which means you get our full attention and a place that feels genuinely lived in, not manufactured for guests. Book a couple of nights, and you'll understand why people who visit tend to come back.

Lisa in Sam's place it's an incredibly special sanctuary located right beneath Merryvale, an ancient stone circle and complex.
The land is absolutely beautiful, very quiet and peaceful. It's surrounded by beautiful, luscious, native forest and river, nestled within the Walkham Valley.
The yurt is gorgeous, lotus shape, simple with everything that I needed. Clean and cosy with a wood stove. It is in a beautiful spot on the land tucked away with access to the shower room and bathroom in the conservatory at the end of the house.
Lisa and Sam are wonderful hosts, very hospitable, kind and welcoming. I loved being there and will be back for sure.

Tara was such a welcoming host. The dome was beautifully presented and very comfortable and clean having everything that you could need. We all particularly enjoyed sitting in the hanging chair but there were lots of lovely spots to sit and relax in. The setting was so peaceful and relaxing. Canteen, just up the road, was wonderful for a breakfast.

What an amazing place!
My friend and I booked a Celtic pod each and wow!
So comfortable, very well built in a lovely part of the camp with sea view!
The camp itself was very calm, relaxed and Sam, who looks after the camp was so friendly and had lots of recommendations!
There is a lovely forest path “The Lovers Walk” that takes you from the camp to the harbour in about 10-15 mins! Super cool!!
And it has everything needed: washing up area, showers, dry loo & a freezer as well as wood for the fire you can purchase.
Everyone was so welcoming and helpful! We absolutely loved our stay. The location was also perfect to discover the Lizard Peninsula with lots of trails nearby including the West Coastal Way!
And we were so lucky to have the most beautiful, hot weather with blue sky and sunshine and at night? A starry night right above our heads! Couldn’t recommend it more!

We had a great stay in the bluebird bus, our little boy especially loved it. Nice touches such as the welcome bag, biscuits, some tea and small squash. Logs and lighters for the chiminea and log burner all added to a fantastic stay.
The campsite itself was really peaceful and relaxing. The toilets and showers seemed to be brand new and really clean.
Great location for the beaches and walks.

Our stay in Bluebird exceeded our expectations! The bus is fantastic and an incredible first glamping experience for our 2year old & 6year old boys! The bus was clean, comfortable and unique and the outdoor space was lovely, the boys loved toasting marshmallows in the firepit.
Becky and John were wonderful hosts, friendly and welcoming & it’s clear they have put a lot of love into the whole site.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a quirky glamping experience with your family!

Where to go
Northwest Coast
West of Watergate, Cornwall’s north coast is wild and windswept. The surf Mecca of Newquay is one of the region’s busiest hubs, while further south, St Ives is surrounded by sandy beaches and seaside holiday parks. Coastal hikes don’t come more spectacular than the South West Coast Path, which runs the entire length of the Cornish coast.
Northeast Coast
Sweeping headlands and rocky coves line the coast east of Watergate Bay. Enjoy sea-cliff walks along the Trevose Head Heritage Coast, spot sea-birds swooping along the shore, or take in the views from Pentire Point. Further north, discover the legacy of King Arthur at Tintagel Castle or hike up the High Cliff, Cornwall’s highest point.
South Coast
St Austell, Falmouth, and Fowey are the headline acts of the ‘Cornish Riviera’, a 30-minute drive south of Watergate Bay. Camping options range from family-friendly holiday parks to glamping in a luxury yurt, but whichever you choose, the beach is never far away. Don’t miss a visit to the Eden Project, famed for its giant rainforest biomes.
Bodmin Moors
Misty moorlands and ancient standing stones tempt intrepid hikers away from the coast to the Bodmin Moors. Visit in the summertime to hike amid fields of purple heather, picnic by Golitha Falls, then pitch your tent at a hillside camping ground. Look out for native ponies grazing the hillsides along the way.
