The main pod consists of a double bedroom, small lounge, kitchenette and shower room. The kitchenette has a microwave, portable stove top, toaster, kettle and fridge so guests can still cook up a meal if staying in. Wi-Fi is available in the main pod and included during your stay, plus access to a washing machine, ironing board and iron through a private entrance into the downstairs cloakroom of the farmhouse. The second bedroom - the twin - is located in a separate pod, located approx 15 meters away and separated by a path through the trees. It's the perfect solution for children wanting to escape the parents and feel like they're having their own adventure (or is that parents wanting to escape from the kids!) Please note, as the second bedroom pod is a short walk from the main pod, parents should be confident that their children (and they!) will be happy to sleep separately and will enjoy the seclusion of an independent sleeping area. During the winter months, we have converted the outdoor porch of the main pod into an upgraded, insulated dining area equipped with a table and chairs, comfortably accommodating four guests. This addition provides a weatherproof social space, complete with a fully glazed external door to allow you to fully enjoy the surrounding views. Updated photos arriving in Spring 2024. We enjoyed our stay at The camp surroundings are well maintained, what I noticed is that no annoying flies buzzing around when sitting out and while cooking!. The host and people on site are very helpful and friendly. One night we needed help with lighting a camp fire and they were so quick to respond. The facilities in the camp are a bonus, if the weather is nice you won't get bored. Ladies toilets were okay my kids complained about the men's!!

Lovely campsite, the pods look like Tellytubby Land! It's a bit of a walk into Bude probably 40mins but the park and ride is almost opposite the site and very reasonable. We stayed in the Tree House, it was comfy and clean. It has a kettle, microwave, toaster, BBQ and fridge which is so convenient. Would recommend taking your usual cooking kit as there are plates, mugs, bowls and glasses but not pots and pans or stove. I might also take a picnic table if you like to sit in the sun as the seating area is shady. No curtains means you need a sleep mask if you like a dark room but I loved waking up to the sight of a blue sky. Would also recommend a torch for going up and down the steps at night.

This is a place to feel connected to the land and to completely let go of all the pressures of modern living. Jan is passionate about bio diversity and I loved walking up to the yurt, brushing past lavender and sage and wild flowers full of bees and butterflies, picking an apple on the way - and having it for breakfast whilst looking over a most glorious sunrise view from Buzzard Yurt. Then a walk in the woods and chilling in the hammock reading and soaking up the birdsong and the sound of the buzzard up above. At night - lying on the deck looking up at a starry sky and sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows. A truly relaxing and healing few days. Thank you Jan.

We had a lovely stay in the school bus! It was surprisingly roomy and very well equipped. Hosts were very welcoming on arrival and always about should we have needed help during our stay. We loved our stay at Buzzard Yurt! Jan was super friendly and helpful, and the kids loved the trampoline, the pond, the hot tub, feeding the chickens, picking the eggs and just everything the lovely campsite had to offer. It was such a good break from the bustle of city life and we cannot wait to return. The night skies were delightful with a sky full of stars and hardly any light pollution anywhere near us, and our days were filled with adventure and nature at the camp. Jan's campsite is conveniently located to lots of lovely sights - Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis. A perfect break!

Lovely camp site and very welcoming hosts! We stayed in the Foxglove tent and it was lovely. The communal kitchen has excellent amenities. There was an oven, gas hob, pizza over, bbq, plates, crockery, cutlery and things to wash up! You have your own cupboard, fridge and shower/toilet which was great! Easy to get to and not far from some great hiking spots. We had a great time and would stay again 😊

Loved the camp vibe and the people are very welcoming and friendly. The campsite is very clean and things are there for everyone likeness to enjoy. The staff is very sweet to help. You just have to ask. Make sure to get your cooking equipments like if you want to cook near your tent. There is stove and fireplace. You can also use the open kitchen BBQ to cook if you want. Get yourself a camp chair if you want to sit comfortably outside next to the fireplace near your tent and an outdoor lamp Each camp is separated so you have ample privacy The camp area is beautifully designed and decorated which looks great during daytime. Breakfast is scrumptious and you can have food and drinks throughout the day in the restaurant. The campsite hosts are super nice and loves to take good care of their guests

We had a great stay in the bluebird bus, our little boy especially loved it. Nice touches such as the welcome bag, biscuits, some tea and small squash. Logs and lighters for the chiminea and log burner all added to a fantastic stay. The campsite itself was really peaceful and relaxing. The toilets and showers seemed to be brand new and really clean. Great location for the beaches and walks. We will definitely be back.

Our stay in Bluebird exceeded our expectations! The bus is fantastic and an incredible first glamping experience for our 2year old & 6year old boys! The bus was clean, comfortable and unique and the outdoor space was lovely, the boys loved toasting marshmallows in the firepit. Becky and John were wonderful hosts, friendly and welcoming & it’s clear they have put a lot of love into the whole site. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quirky glamping experience with your family!

Jurassic Coast

Weymouth lies at the heart of the UNESCO-listed Jurassic Coast, where jagged sea cliffs tumble down to sandy beaches and rocky coves. Head east to marvel at the Durdle Door, Dorset’s most iconic landmark, or continue past Chesil Beach to see the golden cliffs of the West Bay or hunt for fossils at Charmouth beach. Hikers will be in their element here, and there is plenty of choice for camping along the coast.

Isle of Purbeck

Bordered by steep limestone sea cliffs, the peninsula known as the Isle of Purbeck curls out around Poole Harbour. This is the dramatic finale of the Jurassic Coast and the South West Coast Path, and highlights include the white cliffs of Old Harry’s Rocks and rock pools of Kimmeridge Bay. If you prefer water sports to coastal hikes, the sheltered waters of Poole Harbour are ideal for kayaking, jet skiing, and stand-up paddleboarding.

East Devon

The Jurassic Coast continues west into East Devon, where coastal hikes and fossil hunting are the main activities. Inland, the sloping farmlands and forested valleys of the East Devon and Blackdown Hills AONBs provide endless options for hikes, bike rides, and horseback rides. Come in spring and summer to admire the wildflowers, discover Iron Age ruins hidden in the hills, or stop at a country pub for a traditional Devonshire cream tea.

When to go

Summer is peak season in Weymouth, and the beaches get busy in July and August. Book campsites well in advance if you plan to visit at this time. The best weather for camping and outdoor activities is from April through October. Don’t be put off by the idea of a winter visit—coastal views can be even more dramatic when the winds pick up, and although it can get chilly, the weather rarely hits extremes.

Weymouth has a few camping and outdoors stores where you can pick up supplies for your camping trip.
Weymouth has public transport links to many of the surrounding towns and attractions, but it is handy to have your own transport, especially if staying at rural campsites.
Most campsites require advance booking, and many ask for the full payment in advance. Be sure to check opening dates, as many campsites close in the winter months.
Wild camping is illegal throughout Dorset.
Camp near the coast and you could easily spend your weekend, week, or whole summer splashing around. The main esplanade-backed beach at Weymouth is sandy with safe shallows for swimming.
