Girt DOWN FARM ..... Beautiful, relaxing and stunning surroundings of views of the coast. The sunset and sunrise were stunning. Stargazing is a must. Lovely to chat to Paul and Lesley whilst they are going about their daily farming. They have a wealth of knowledge of the area. Their fresh hens eggs were amazing. We had a lovely breakfast roll in the morning too. Showers, toilets and washing up area are lovely and clean. Fresh spring water out of the tap. There is an old railway carriage to chill, charge your phone and a fridge freezer. Firepits & Wood and you can also BBQ. This is such a lovely and friendly farm. A great place for families, couples or Trekkers. You can chill & unwind with a book, plenty of wildlife and birds. There are walks out of the farm, take a stroll up to Great Hangman or a carry on to Little Hangman which was about an hour. Again the views of the coasts are stunning at the top. You can carry on walking which takes you to Combe Martin beach, cafes, chippy, shops and a butchers. Or walk the other way to Heddons mouth which takes about 4 hours but so worth it..... beach, a pint and a lovely meal. Girt farm is surrounded by so much to do locally, local produce, quaint villages, Exmoor and walks galore. There are Buses from Combe Martin which go both ways up and down the coasts. I would highly recommended. AND We will be back for a longer stay next time. A REAL HIDDEN 💎 GEM. 🏕

Weekend Trip to Girt Down Camping

Gorgeous views of the coast and camping just as it should be - back to basics with acres of space but perfectly adequate and clean facilities. The coast path is just a few minutes away from the site and there are some incredible views to be had from Little Hangman. The Heddon Valley is close by too and definitely worth visiting. The coast path here is seriously hilly, but with views like this, it is well worth the effort.

Great place as stated it is narrow further down our t5 managed no problem definitely best with a mildly off road type vehicle stone track leads to an amazing space we parked further round than the other few campers the bridle way was quite busy but people walking by were friendly . We took our own Porto a loo ( essential ) Very clean seems people who stay are respectful

Lovely camp site with friendly, helpful staff. Clean, tidy facilities and lovely hot showers. Even have a shower for cleaning wetsuits etc. It was quite busy on the Friday night I stayed and there was live music but other campers all respectful and no noise issues at all after the band stopped. Would certainly recommend and stay there again myself. PS Their hot cornish pasties are excellent too😋

A very special place - so relaxed, welcoming and friendly. Beautiful view of the sea from everywhere and easy access to the coast path. Dogs are very welcome too!

Great spot. Lovely shower - better than home! Kettle and Toaster were a bonus for two bikepacking visitors. Toilets and showers very clean and campsite perfect. Proximity to the Roskilly restaurant was a bonus.

Loved my stay here this week! I went with my beagle and we both enjoyed the hugs of coast and countryside—peaceful walks, lots of beautiful wildlife, stunning views high in the hillside looking down through the valley to the sea, and a private, relaxing space to unwind. Lesley and Paul were incredibly warm and welcoming, and when I had some unexpected car trouble, they made sure I felt comfortable to ask if I needed anything - I had everything I needed already provided! It’s truly a special spot ☺️🐶🍃🌊

Great place feels like campsites of yesteryear lovely welcome quick intro to the site and go find a spot great for car vans and off grid prepped vehicles with quarry area and river side . Thoroughly recommend we loved it dog loved it kids too

Perfect little campsite. Lovely setting and fields were sheltered. Hired bikes and cycled the trails. Safe and good for old and young. Went to the beach 10 mins away. Hot showers and simple but clean facilities. Cafe was sweet with nice stock from local breweries for cheeky sundowner. Highly recommend. Thank you.

This was such a lovely spot. Great views and the hosts are so kind and generous. Lovely food truck with delicious pancakes and great dinners too. We felt so welcome and taken care of. Highly recommend staying here with Will and Cathy.

Really good pitch with hot showers, wash bays and separate toilets. Great location with the cliff walk and town only a short walk away. Electric hook up was stable and location is bright and pleasant.

Becky and John both love Cornwall and fell in love with the site as soon as they saw it and it provided the perfect opportunity for a new challenge. Having only recently taken over at Willow Valley in the Summer of 2024, there are always ongoing improvements being made so make sure you keep in touch. Any returning campers will be glad to know we aren’t changing the campsite itself though. Why would we when it is already so perfect!
