We set up our campsite to be a unique place where guests could be as close to nature as possible, while retaining some of the basic comforts of home. Think wildflower meadow with hot showers!
We've gone for ultimate peace and tranquility, with a very limited number of pitches mown into the wildflowers with lots of space between. Our remote site is far from roads or light pollution, making for serene starry nights around the firepit.
The camping meadow is bordered by woodlands, a small nature reserve, and the gardens of a stunning Tudor manor house, all of which you're free to explore.
Nestled in a remote and picturesque corner of West Dorset, the campsite is within easy reach of some of the South West's most stunning spots, from world-famous fossil beaches to neolithic hill-forts.

Had a wonderful stay, at Housedean, a wonderful location for hitting Brighton Eastbourne and Lewes. Great walk from the site and lovely friendly accommodating staff.

Our first camping, but thanks to this place it is not the last, wonderful place, the landscape is wonderful even at sunset, it is beautiful and clean at night, I can only recommend it to all dog owners, we will come back too 🙏🏻

This site is a real escape especially for those who like a bit the more wild camping feel. The scenery is lovely- the peace and quiet is sublime. There are no toilet facilities but there is water on tap. The field is clean and tidy and their welcome was amazing. It’s going to be our little escape from now on! We had a lovely restful peaceful weekend, which is exactly what we were looking for.. Digby kept in touch with this all the way and even meet us at the gate - such a gentleman.

Housedean Farm is a lovely site in the rolling hills of the South Downs and I'd recommend it.
I'd also recommend booking directly with the site rather than through Hipcamp who will not stop emailing me. I need one email when I book a campsite - the booking confirmation. No matter if you opt out of marketing emails, you'll get at least five unnecessary emails as follows:

Beautiful, secluded spot (we had the luxury of the field to ourselves in November, with cattle and horses as neighbours, alongside owl, pheasants and more. Pleasant walk across the fields and bridleway to the pub. F having a fire was beautiful in November. Fully recommend
