Feel free to use our laundry facilities, communal picnic basket, and complimentary condiments, seasonings, sauces, etc found in the door of the fridge. Attached to the lounge is our air conditioned ecobathroom with *hot* shower, bio toilet, and complimentary toiletries if you forget anything. A few notes on the property: Most people have never used an EcoToilet and don’t realize it takes some work. If you have children, you will very likely have to do this part for them. We keep the lounge area as clean as possible but at the end of the day it is an outdoor kitchen! Kitchenwares will have a layer of dust even if cleaned the day prior, so please give everything a rinse before you using! You may read about mosquitoes in some of our past reviews, but I am happy to share that we now have a monthly mosquito service in place that has mitigated that issue :) Learn more about this land: Our intention for this artist community is to bring like-minded people together and make the world a more beautiful place. It serves as our primary residence and also residence for seasonal workers&traveling artists when they come here. Every year we have the opportunity to employ about a dozen people to work with us during the tourist season, from March-October. Aside from our local employees, we also wanted to create a space that would allow for fellow travelers to join our crew. There is plenty of fallen wood to gather for fires or cut wood available for purchase. We have a community area with picnic tables, sun sails, grill, pavilion, and large bonfire. Please note the access road is old gravel and dirt, so if in a low car you'll need to take it slow. If there has been rain call ahead for entry directions as part of road becomes muddy. This was our 2nd stay with Richard and it was just as lovely as the 1st. Peaceful and relaxing. Quiet in the evenings, with only the sound of bats chirping. This time we saw a couple deer grazing. Will be returning any time we have a free night with clear weather!

We cannot say enough about how beautiful Vikrum’s land was. It was so peaceful and quiet and the river view and beaches were amazing. We had a little difficulty finding the initial turn off from the dirt road but the GPS directions lead us right to it. We just didn’t listen to them 🙄. The trail to the campsite was totally passable for a Tacoma and a grand Highlander. We loved it and so did our pups! We will totally be back. Thank you for a wonderful little break from reality!

Weekend Trip to River Life Camping in Alabama

We’ve camped at this spot several times now, and every visit just reinforces why we keep coming back. The property is absolutely beautiful — serene, quiet, and nestled right on the banks of the Escatawpa River. Whether you’re relaxing by the water or waking up to the sounds of nature, it’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel grounded and at peace. The primitive camping setup is exactly what we love — no frills, just raw nature. It’s the perfect environment to unplug, reconnect, and even brush up on some survival skills. My two boys especially enjoy the experience; they’re always excited to explore the woods, learn new outdoor skills, and just be outside without the distractions of screens. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape where you can truly disconnect and appreciate the natural world, this spot is a must. We’re already looking forward to our next trip.

Weekend Trip to CampFire at the Riverbend

The spot was absolutely perfect for camping, fire pit overlooking the winding River. The little cabin was essential for our dogs so we didn’t have to worry but I’d recommend an air mattress to put down. There were people tubing by all day so not total privacy but like I said, a perfect spot to camp out and unwind. Richard was very helpful in giving instructions. If you want more privacy I would recommend renting out both the cabin and the tent spot next to it. Would go back for sure

1 night at CampFire at the Riverbend

This is a beautiful spot with a sandy beach and crystal-clear, cool waters. At night there is great star-gazing and fireflies in the trees. A peaceful and private getaway. Richard responds quickly to messages and is very helpful! Will definitely be returning in the future and would highly recommend for nature lovers.

We always have an amazing time at this site. Close to the beach and all the stuff in Foley. Bathhouse and pool are well kept. Owner responds quickly to any needs. Neighboring site owners are all very friendly.

Weekend Trip to River Life Camping in Alabama

Great place to spend with the family. Very quiet and peaceful. I love that you can pitch a tent just about anywhere from the beach to the woods whatever you prefer and still be right on the river. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to all my outdoor people.
