Heidi was friendly and helpful .
Nice quiet site with stunning scenery , skys , and lots of space .
Easy walk to robin hoods bay which was really nice .
Nice to have interesting breeds of animals there too .

Margaret's land was very quiet and calming, it is quite close to the M62 but don't let that scare you, the tall thick conifers surrounding the land block all the noise. Margaret was lovely, she couldn't be more helpful. We will return, we only booked one night as we wanted to try the electrical hook up on our new van, but would have happily stayed longer had we not had other plans.

Weekend Trip to Greenoak Hideout
We had such a lovely stay at Greenoak. The hosts were so friendly and approachable and there were lots of lovely small touches that made the yurts feel homely and comfortable.
The log burners and electric blankets meant that we were warm over night and had a really comfortable sleep. We are looking forward to going in the Summer to be able to enjoy more daylight hours.
The boys (4 and 7) loved all of the friendly animals and the play equipment on the land, as well as the hot tub!
We will definitely book again and would recommend to our friends and family!
Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again next year!

The setting was just perfect for our family of five (including two dogs and a 4 year old). The Yurt was comfortable, clean and very cosy. The private shower and toilet facilities were great, as was the hot tub.
We had a trip to the local nature reserve during our stay, however think our daughter and the dogs were just as happy in the grounds with lots to explore, very friendly animals and lots of activities including trampoline and climbing walls.

I found the campsite easy to find, Margaret is lovely. I camped in the orchard with my tent. I enjoyed my stay and I was made to feel welcome. There is one toilet there near to reception and portable water. I would stay again and recommend it to,

Beautiful setting with friendly animals to feed, I would recommend for a relaxed getaway. The gardens are perfect for children to explore and play, securely fenced with park facilities.

We had a lovely pre-Christmas stay and would highly recommend! The yurt was beautiful inside, spotless and had all the essentials.
The beds were super comfy and the electric blanket helped keep us warm in the night. Mini fridge, small dining area and plenty of blankets for the colder nights. The bathroom facilities were also spotless and we all had fantastic hot showers which were very much appreciated.
Kids loved seeing the donkeys in the mornings and there were plenty of outdoor toys for them to play with.
We travelled into York both days which was about a 35 minute drive. Nearby towns had plenty of takeaways etc.
Would 100% visit again!

We absolutely loved our two night stay in the Fox Yurt, I was quite surprised how spacious they are. The beds are really comfy and they kept the heat in quite well at night as the weather had dropped in the evenings.
We said hello to the two lovely donkeys and the horse. Unfortunately we didn't get to do the pony ride for our son or see the alpacas as the owners were away. Although my son loved the endless bouncing on the huge trampoline and took quite a shine to the ridealong toy tractor and trailer!
The shower and toilet facilities are a very short walk from the Yurt, however I was surprised again at how clean and new they were.
We would definitely stay again and bring some friends or family along 😊

What a beautiful find! This was our first glamping experience and it didn't disappoint. Lovely decor with amazingly comfortable beds. Access to a BBQ and a fire pit which was perfect for star gazing. The kids loved all the play areas, especially the trampoline and the dogs Scout and Tiggy were very friendly.

What a fantastic site, very friendly, basic but immaculate facilities and nicely tucked away overlooking the sea. We had a wonderful time camping here in a campervan, no electric hookup and we had such a relaxing chilled time. The people were very friendly and helpful, there were goats, donkeys and horses around and about and the scenery was just stunning. Walk along a woodland path for 10-15 minutes and you are in Robinhoods Bay which is beautiful. Then a walk in the other direction will take you along the coast to Ravenscar (follow the signpost for Tearooms and they do wonderful Caramel Shortbread slices and Scones, all home baked). We can totally recommend this site. :)

We had a great time. The kids (6 and 4) really enjoyed the space to run around and play; they loved the trampoline, feeding carrots to the donkeys and pony and spending time with the friendly resident dogs. The yurt was lovely - very well equipped and with super comfy beds. Great shower room and the hot tub was a very enjoyable extra. John was a wonderful host who made our stay huge fun. We would highly recommend Greenoak Hideaway.

Great little place with all the basics you need (toilet, water, electric hook-up) for a campervan. Margeret was very friendly and chatty. and the views were great, our dogs certainly loved allt he walks, it's only a shame we had to leave a night earlier than planned due to outside reasons, but great place for us to get away and relax.

We loved glamping at greenoak hideout, it was perfect for our 5 year old. Lots of outside toys to play on, she loved the trampoline especially! The yurt was lovely and had everything we needed and more. John was a great host and very helpful, lovely inviting family place to visit. We hired the hot tub for Friday evening which was really nice under the stars. Ordered a takeaway from Sam’s kitchen, it was really nice! And we visited the village not too far away called Howden lots of little Coffee shops and a minster to look around, there is also a great play park there too for the kids! We will definitely be back next year. Thanks for having us! 😃

Where to go
When to go
Spring has officially sprung in the North York Moors when the curlew arrive to commence their breeding season, and this is also a good time to see lapwings, puffins, and golden plover. In autumn, wildlife watchers should turn their attention from the skies to the sea to spot minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbour porpoises. Winter visitors may have slimmer pickings when it comes to campsites, but the annual Stargazing and Dark Skies Festival makes up for it. It can be easier to snag a spot during the low season of November through to April, though be aware that not all sites operate year-round.
Know before you go
- There are six Easy Access routes signposted on park maps, ideal for wheelchair users and stroller pushers.
- National Park Centres can be found in Danby and Sutton Bank.
- Tourist Information Points are widespread across the park, including in the towns of Whitby, Pickering, and Scarborough.
- The park manages 10 Pay and Display car parks in larger villages or near major attractions.
- As with all of the UK’s outdoor attractions, the Countryside Code applies.
- Campsites on the North York Moors get booked up quickly, especially during school holidays, and walk-ins aren’t always accepted. The coastline is a main draw, so head inland if you’re after last-minute accommodation.
