Small, quiet family-run site in the Peak District National Park A 15-minute drive from Buxton, the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail Pet-friendly pub five minutes’ walk away; barbecues permitted on site Fields Farm Campsite is just the place for a peachy Peak District break. Just outside of a rural village named Peak Forest in the national park, this site is a walkers’ haven, with the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail just 15 minutes’ drive away (along with Buxton, a classic Peak District town with a spa history, meaning you can pamper yourself on this day out). Handily, there are walks direct from the door too. You can get to Eldon Hole in just over 10 minutes and dubbed one of the seven wonders of the Peak District, the pothole is an impressive sight. Peak Forest is just five minutes’ walk away too and here, you’ll be able to sample some homecooked food in a pet-friendly traditional country pub. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the grassy pitches have scenic views of the countryside (a great side dish for breakfast times, that’s for sure). And in the evenings, perhaps a barbecue will be another way to settle into the rural atmosphere. Happily, dogs are permitted here, so you won’t have to leave them behind. As for gathering together snacks, sandwiches and other stuff to keep you going while you’re out and about in the national park’s towns, villages or traffic-free trails, there are food shops 10 minutes’ drive away in Chapel-en-le-Frith to help you tick off your shopping list.We are in the middle of peak park great walks we are in a small village next to pub good home cooked food lots of local villages blue john mine chatsworth house stateley home of the duke of devonshire with it fantastic grounds. We loved this site, its overall size and simple spotless facilities, no fuss booking and check in, great location, gorgeous views, and a mud free level pitch despite the gails and rain we brought with us! Darren and Diana were fab, great communication, excellent care of the site and they even lent us a pair of grips when we found our gas tank valve has seized up and we couldn’t open it by hand. Hospitable hosts and a lovely site. Will definitely come back and highly recommend!

Lovely situation, hills with hill forts, a view of Bardsey Island, amazing sunsets, a cafe. Two miles from Aberdaron where there is a bakery opposite the Spar which makes really good pasties. Good for cycling from.

Lovely well kept campsite at the end of the peninsula. If you’re looking to go off-grid this place is ideal. The owners were lovely and welcoming and can see they take pride in the site. Will definitely be back for a detox!

The campsite was great with an amazing view! Good location. The only problem we had, the shower water was so hot that we wasn’t able to wash the hair or the body as the water way too hot.

Had a lovely stay at Mynydd Mawr camp site! Beautiful remote location, great for stargazing at night! Super easy to camp up and find a pitch wherever you like (even tho it was the bank holiday weekend) Would definitely recommend and will be returning!

Lovely quiet site on the edge of glory, with mountain/hilltop views and a view of the sea into the abyss! Tranquil and some lovely walks around the coastal path or towards the local town/beach. Sunset was amazing from the hilltop. Campsite was quiet, and friendly campers. Toilets, showers very clean and well maintained. And an added bonus of a cafe, really good breakfast choices, was truly scrumptious! Will definitely be back to visit very soon.

Great views over the sea. The site facilities are clean and the hot showers really good. Be sure to have £1 coins with you for 5 minutes of hot water. Little on site cafe is great for a cuppa and bit of cake and does brekky if you can't be bothered to cook your own or weather is dodgy. The site is a very very short walk from the most beautiful headland and views over towards Beardsley Island. This truly is a special place and the fact that space for the tents isn't overwhelmed by caravans is just great (they're on a different field and don't spoil campers views)

We had a fantastic weekend, just what we like in a campsite, small super quiet and chilled, fantastic views and good facilities, Darren & Diana were good hosts and communicated very well. Great walking in the area, the price you pay for the great view is a good hike back up to the site but worth it..! We stopped at the tea room down in the village before taking on the hill home, can highly recommend all the fresh cakes and food from the tea room a little gem.

Met by James, who’s a very nice fella. I messaged ahead to ask if we could turn up an hour earlier, if the pitch wasn’t busy, and this wasn’t a problem. Nice pitch that was flat with good, clean toilet facilities. A fabulous area which took us on a walk to Castleton and back via Cavedale, which our dog loved. Back at the site, a step through the wall and you’re at the Devonshire Arms pub. We didn’t have a meal there but had great breakfast sandwiches that they serve in the morning. We were there at the weekend, so not sure of opening times in the week.
