Having separate areas for each tent, but also a communal area with tables and firepits is the perfect balance between intimacy and community. Would defo come back here, possibly the best place I've ever found on Hipcamp.

Really nice campsite with good facilities. It was quite busy but it wasn't too noisy. Staff were friendly. I was on a hardstanding pitch and my only gripe was, the grass that we had allocated for the pitch wasn't really quite wide enough to secure my awning as well as I would have liked. The awning just about fit on.
We had some sandwiches made by the guy in the cafe to take on our walk which were good. Lacking veggie options though.

I can not recommend Baystone enough. THE VIEWS ARE AMAZING! I was not expecting them from the pictures shown by stunning the wash facilties are clean and maintained access to onsite fridge and freezer. Good pitch sizes with fire pit.
I will be back as soon as possible. Camp warden was lovely super friendly. I explained my dog prefers space and she was more willing to accommodate.
The on lead rule is followed by all guests which was a reason I picked the sight. There is alot of live stock so your dog does need to be okay with horses and sheep around.
Noise levels were quiet by 10pm every night. Cafe on site was lovely and have a small shop with some goodies avaliable (tecos 8 min drive away) beautiful beaches, peaks near by. I loved it

My young nephew and I had a great time camping on the Hegdehog pitch of the Treetops and Traintracks site. Coinciding with some fine, sunny days, we trundled in, out and about on our bicycles and found Sebastian's welcome a hearty warm one 😀 The site is lovingly and neatly kept, offering around ten pitches and well-serviced toilets and showers (my nephew liked the train carriage-themed facilities!). The modest size was congenial for sharing stories and tios with ither campers, whilst avoiding the noise and insitutionalisation which comes with larger scale operations. My nephew and I were pleased out fire-starting skills were strong enough to barbecue our dinner and were grateful for the bonus teatime treats on offer, and the extra blanket! Currently a site for the self-sustaining camper (no standard charging or electric hook up points) makes this is simply special 😀 Good luck with your ongoing developments and growing family! Uncle Dan

Friendly warden did what he could when we arrived. Views were amazing, campfires are a must at this site. The showers are nice and hot. Mostly clean even when it was wet.
Would be good if they could advertise some local walks as these aren’t easily sign posted.

Absolutely beautiful site, friendly people around us and the onsite pub food was amazing for one of the nights we visited (pie and gammon are 100% recommend). It was a quick drive from most places we had a day in barnard castle, and this is very pretty. Our dog loved his stay too everywhere we went was dog friendly, with plenty of dog walking spaces for him to run around. Our pod for 4 was very comfortable and picnic bench outside was ideal for breakfast cereal, bring your own cups bowls cutlery and plenty to keep kids busy we took board games and quizzes and he could watch YouTube on his phone. Glad there was a mini fridge kettle (for cuppas) and microwave (for popcorn) we left alcohol outside as it was cold enough overnight. I loved bird spotting on their fields too we will definitely book for the summer time

Loved the animals on site and very helpful staff. Camping by the stream was lovely to see and hear along with the birds singing in the morning. Drinking water available from outside tap. Toilets and showers were decent, nice and warm. Cafe on site is ideal for the lazy mornings.

Beautiful place amazing and friendly staff this was our first time taking the children camping and they had a wonderful time here the fields go on and on for and for us that loves to go walking this place was amazing there is some old ruins kids loved looking at the stream and all the farm animals that was there it was just a perfect all round can’t wait to come back! Nice little campsite, not many pitches which makes it more cosy and less noisey!
Facilities are clean and decent with great views in every direction.
It’s in the middle of nowhere so you may need a car to go off exploring! We took the kids to Havenrigg beach which was about 10mins away, lovely little place! Noise policy was good, 11pm cut off which suited us with little ones.

Lovely campsite, beautiful spot, view of mountais and walks straight off the site. Very quiet and calm (this was April) We never met the owners and nobody at the reception caravan when we arrived although we werecwithing the arrival time, so we just got on with it. A few bits in the shop and some food served but no real coffee would be the only downfall. I hoped to cafe might have some! Showers worked and lots of hot water to wash up with. If we didn't live so far away, I would definitely visit again. Also, amazing for riding at the center, if that is your thing, everyone wes very friendly.
