The Red Lion makes a splendid base for aviation and wartime history buffs, with the heritage centre nearby and the displays and memorials of the International Bomber Command Centre a 45-minute drive away. As it’s on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and around half an hour's drive from the coast, it’s also well placed for walks, stately home visits and wildlife watching. Most importantly, it’s at the back of a friendly pub (which has varied winter and summer opening days and hours, but is always closed on Mondays). It serves hot food alongside local beers and other refreshing tipples. Canine companions are welcome in the bar (it’d be nice if they bought a drink…) and on the site. Weekend Trip to The Red Lion

My Husband and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay in our campervan the sight is easy to assess and the plots are quite spacious we ate a Sunday lunch in the restaurant which I highly recommend we will definitely be visiting the Red Lion again in the near future.

Nice campsite in peaceful rural surroundings with good facilities and a pub next door. Be aware that if you camp on a Sunday the pub closes early in the evening and doesn't serve food after lunch.

1 night at The Red Lion

I enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion campsite. It's a self-service style campsite as was well organised with gate codes etc. There was plenty of space and options for electric and non-electric, as well as a newly built children's play area. I choose to stay in one of the non-electric grass pitches which extended right back into the site away from the centre hub, and it was lovely and quiet with beautiful views. There are also fire pits to rent as well as a pub onsite directly linked with the campsite. The showers were lovely and hot too!

Lovely spot with nice views. Toilet blocks were spotlessly clean. There were a few other campers there, but the site was very peaceful and quiet. Few pubs and small shops within easy walking distance. Helpful communications from Laura. Would recommend a stay here if you want to get away from it all.

Festival goers are very welcome, and the Creamfields Festival site is five minutes’ drive away. Please respect the quiet hours (no noise is permitted after 10pm) and environment, as the owners' home is on the grounds (and stick to the field's facilities only). No waste accepted onsite.
