And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. Lovely spot with nice views. Toilet blocks were spotlessly clean. There were a few other campers there, but the site was very peaceful and quiet. Few pubs and small shops within easy walking distance. Helpful communications from Laura. Would recommend a stay here if you want to get away from it all.

Weekend Trip to Sweet Knoll camping

I took my Grandson for his first ever camping experience to Sweet Knoll. He had a smashing time, and wants to go on holiday again next weekend. Location and views are beautiful. The facilities, whilst basic, are scrupulously clean, and everything you need for a classic camping experience. We didn't hire a firepit this time around, as the weather wasn't amenable, but that's just part of camping in the hills in the UK. Next time, and there will be a next time. We will definitely be back

Chorley town centre is 10 minutes drive away and we are close to the M61 which can take you to the Lake district in less than an hour, Manchester or Blackpool are roughly 30 Minutes away.
