If you like the sound of having farm shops and ice cream farms nearby, as well as access to lots of walking and cycling trails, Stretton House Campsite should be a fine pick for you. It has a strict no noise policy after 10pm, meaning that you should get a peaceful night's sleep too.
This site is in the grounds of the 400-year-old Stretton House surrounded by the Cheshire countryside with handy transport links nearby and outdoor activities in no short supply… that includes things like alpaca walking, golf or Manley Mere’s watersports haven (a 20-minute drive away for the latter).
You’ll have your pick of two fields, both with car parking by the pitch free of charge and dogs allowed. The facilities include separate male and female toilet blocks, pay per use shower block, mobile phone charging facilities, free wifi and chemical toilet disposal and a drinking water standpipe. You’ll have permission to start up a barbecue or firepit too (subject to the correct safety measures).
When you’re ready to get going, the friendly owners will be willing to help out however they can and suggest possible days out, which may include fishing or walking at Pickmere Lake (10 minutes’ drive), visiting an ice cream farm (within 10 minutes’ drive of the site) or going to the local golf course (five minutes’ drive).
For food, there’s a farm shop just two minutes’ walk away from the site where you’ll be able to get your hands on local produce. Pubs aren’t far away either – there is one pub five minutes' walk away, and another 15 minutes' walk away.
Festival goers are very welcome, and the Creamfields Festival site is five minutes’ drive away. Please respect the quiet hours (no noise is permitted after 10pm) and environment, as the owners' home is on the grounds (and stick to the field's facilities only).
No waste accepted onsite. All rubbish must be taken home at the end of your stay.

Our three, brand new wood and canvas yurts are nestled in our private, woodland hotel garden beside the beautiful conservation (SSSI) river of Scandal Beck. Just a short drive from The Lake District, The Yorkshire and Durham Dales as well as The Scottish Border, we are perfectly located for you to explore.
The yurts themselves are individually decorated with full size furniture, electricity and double beds. The yurts are all located in the garden of The Black Swan Hotel, Ravenstonedale, a multi award-winning hotel, restaurant and bar; recipient of 2 AA Rosettes as well as AA pub of the year for England 2018/19. As part of your stay in our yurts you will receive a full cooked breakfast and buffet option included in the price for 2 people in our hotel restaurant. We like to think of ourselves as a cosy home from home with a relaxed dining atmosphere throughout. We are very dog friendly in the hotel, restaurant, bar and yurts so please bring your furry family members.
Our beautiful woodland is also home to red squirrels (which are seen daily), protected, freshwater crayfish in the river, an otter (seen very infrequently but the nemesis of our ducks), 6 Indian runner ducks, free range chickens and our two cockerels! (Dogs are very welcome but are to be kept on a lead whilst in the woodland itself).
We are very dog friendly and charge an additional fee of £15 for 1 dog/ £20 for 2 dogs for an additional cleaning fee and for some dog friendly goodies such as poop bags and treats. The price of this yurt is based on an occupancy of 2 people. Any other people who will be staying on the sofa bed will add a charge of £40 per person per night for breakfast and their stay.
All yurts come with electrical battery pack, chargeable lanterns, tea/coffee, homemade biscuits, log burning stoves, towels, full breakfast included from the hotel, an outdoor seating area and access to our outdoor toasty warm woodland shower as well as our very cute, wooden toilet cabin. Hairdryers are available in the hotel for your use.

Back to basics campsite with toilets, showers and tap for drinking water. Easy to find and well presented. Entrance to field is a little muddy - it's been dry recently so didn't cause any issues but something to be aware of.

We absolutely loved our first stay campervanning at The Duchess’s Meadow. The location and views were beautiful, and the directions nice and clear.
In fact, all the detail provided on the "about" page is 100% spot on, especially "you’ll experience the best of both worlds — the calm of the countryside and the charm of a historic spa town, all from the comfort of your motorhome."
It really is the most perfect location, set in the woodlands for countryside walks, and just a short (10 mins) walk into Buxton. With electric and water hookup too as an added bonus, not to mention the tawny owls!
We had the place to ourselves but there is plenty of space available for 2 campervans / MHs at the same time.
Can't wait to return and hopefully stay longer next time! Thank you to Nick & Rachel.

Despite storm Amy, we had a decent stay. Although not needed, the Facilities were very good. Toilet blocks, shower block & chemical toilet waste disposal too. Paul was helpful when called upon for directions and a mini rescue due to downpour.

Really well laid out site. Quite steep in places with rough ground but fine if you are mobile. Toilet and shower facilities are excellent, as is the wash up area with phone charging facilities and shared fridges.
Fantastic base to explore the area, right next to the Thurscross reservoir.

Initially I wasn’t sure taking the lantern to do your (compost) toilet trip of 1.5 minutes but it worked as long as your mind doesn’t run wild in the dark when you’re on your own! But it all adds up to the whole experience of glamping without running water and electricity in the yurt. I loved the hot shower outside (I also used it to wash my hands after using the toilet), the sound of the stream, the hares who were very elusive, the log burner and the pub breakfast (included in the booking) and the pub food. I had to leave very early, it was still pitch black and I looked at the sky, it was magical with the stars and I even thought I could see 1-2 galaxies; I’m probably exaggerating but it was that clear without the light pollution. I loved the whole experience! Thank you!

We loved staying on Paul’s land it was so much fun our kids loved toasting marshmallows over the open fire and if you don’t have one Paul has a online shop we’re u can buy everything and give in 10 mins and go and pick up the good thing is from ten it’s quite so u can get some rest

Weekend Trip to RHC & Glamping
We stayed in the Cygnet pod, it was clean, warm and well stocked with cups and coffee/tea. We enjoyed the onsite sauna and complimentary alkaline water then had dinner from the cafe. The pizzas were delicious. Excellent customer service and a lovely bit of the north west to enjoy. 10/10

A lovely place to stay for camping with the kids, even with the midges :). The toilets were immaculate and plenty of shower rooms. We had a mix up with our pitch (i thought i had booked an electric pitch but it hadn't went through on hipcamp), the owner was brilliant and very accommodating. I wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are down that way.

I love Glamping’s in Rachel’s land there is a great view and loved how there’s horses just up from the cabins and a walk to get to the top of the mountain would definitely go again but no shops near by but got an uber witch was quite cheap

The site was easy to find and in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Gaining access to the pod was easy and even though not on site when I arrived, the owner left her number and answered my calls straight away. The pod had good amenities and was very cosy, the shower block and toilet area were extremely clean. It was a relaxing and stress free stay

My 2nd time coming here and it didn't disappoint, I didn't want to leave. The pod are beautiful and cosy, exceptionally clean and well looked after. The pods are situation slightly upground which gives them a spectacular view Its so peaceful if you want time to unwind and I really enjoyed the company of the two chickens and the three ducks that visit. Also I love the log bundles that you can buy for the fire pit as it makes starting a fire so easy. Carole and Howard are so friendly and hospitable. Would definitely recommend.

Great directions from the host to this site. Well located with beautiful views towards Malham Cove and handy that there is a farm shop with cafe on site - great breakfast baps! Spotlessly clean and well-equipped glamping pods (4) with outside picnic tables and fire pit/BBQ. Comfortable bed and sofa. All added up to an excellent, relaxing stay.

My daughter and I just returned from a 2 night stay. The accommodation, the view, the hospitality and the lovely little extra touches made us feel so welcome and exceeded all expectations. The accommodation was clean and bright and had everything we needed and more. Emma was a superb host and nothing was too much trouble. What an absolutely perfect getaway in the quiet, watching the sunrise and the sunset with the sounds of the birds, seeing the rabbits running around. Simply cannot recommend this place enough for couples or families.
