Weekend Trip to Cuckoo Farm Campsite

Good facilities and a lovely lady running the site. Busy at weekend but quiter in the week. Very well organised and farm animals lovely. Shop was an added bonus.

Lovely, peaceful campsite. All of the facilities were well maintained. The countryside views were lovely and it was so good to be close to the farm shop. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful setting. If you want to get back to nature this is the place for you! We were a large family group celebrating three birthdays and it’s perfect to pitch up for campers and campervanners. The toliets are great and the shower was hot. My only feedback is to sort out the temperature of both showers so they run at a decent temp. One was cold and the other was too hot. And more bins on site so you can recycle more easily - food / non food. You’re encouraged to recycle at home as it’s a greenfield site. We’ll be back for sure!

Abbey Home Farm Campsite is a real find if you’re looking for a peaceful, rural getaway. I loved the quietness and natural feel of the site – it’s surrounded by countryside and feels properly off-grid in the best way. It’s particularly great for families with young children. The site limits cars and doesn’t allow dogs, which made it feel really safe and relaxed for our kids to explore and enjoy the outdoors. There’s a gentle, welcoming atmosphere throughout. The on-site shop and café were excellent – stocked with fresh, organic produce and really tasty food. Everything is thoughtfully done and clearly in tune with the farm’s ethos. I had to delay my trip at the last minute, and the team were incredibly understanding, letting me shift the booking and even stay on extra days. That kind of flexibility and kindness made a big difference. There are beautiful walks straight from the site and plenty of local amenities nearby if needed – although honestly, once you’re there, you might not want to leave. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unplug and enjoy a slower pace in a gorgeous, family-friendly setting.

1 night at Great Haywood Canalside Campsite

The host, Patrick, was amazing. He fixed an issue which I had created when booking the trip. The location was perfect for our plans. Lovey canal side location. Great cafe 2 minutes walk of site, pub 5-10 minutes. No issues with noise from the train track close by. Thank you

5 nights at Bwch Yn Uchaf

It’s a beautiful campsite, lovely level field the river was gorgeous and our children loved playing in the little stream by the edge of the field. The toilets and showers were kept clean. Gareth was really friendly and even came to the rescue with jump leads.

4 nights at Gwersyllt Rhos y Gallt Campsite

What a brilliant stay from start to finish. John the owner is such a lovely guy and goes out of his way to help wherever possible. The site is very clean and is surrounded by a beautiful countryside with a lovely river (shallow) in the bottom field for you to paddle in. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here it's perfect

We had a lovely time. The campsite is great and the facilities clean. The views were amazing and there was lots of space. I would definitely recommend the site. Worth noting the check-in time is 5pm. We were a bit late but found everyone helpful. it could have been difficult to sort though if we hadnt lucked out. So make sure you speak to them!

2 nights at Abbey Home Farm

This was a great find and I had a lovely 2 nights at Abbey Farm! I was in a small van, the field for vans is at the top and surrounded by hedgerows, it is still lovely but without the amazing views you would have with a tent. The site is no vehicles which is totally understandable. Having walked around I can imagine the area with the pitches cut in the flower meadow will be absolutely stunning in a few weeks when the flowers come through! I sat there last night and watched the sunset, listening to the birds, the lambs, what’s not to love over the rolling hills! There were hares running around this morning too. There is a walk through the woods to the farm shop and cafe. The facilities were as described, the 2 showers were heated, they are in a wooden structure in the woods, but there is something quite nice about hearing the birds chirp away whilst your in the shower. The toilets are long drop composting loos, they were clean enough, and were cleaned whilst I was there, you will need your own loo roll and hand sanitiser though. It really is a gem of a campsite and one that I’ll definitely return to.

David’s land is in a beautiful setting, plenty of space to relax and enjoy stay. You are surrounded by nature and the sound of birds singing. Back to basics, just perfect. Great host and very helpful.

Weekend Trip to Tree Tops and Train Tracks

My young nephew and I had a great time camping on the Hegdehog pitch of the Treetops and Traintracks site. Coinciding with some fine, sunny days, we trundled in, out and about on our bicycles and found Sebastian's welcome a hearty warm one 😀 The site is lovingly and neatly kept, offering around ten pitches and well-serviced toilets and showers (my nephew liked the train carriage-themed facilities!). The modest size was congenial for sharing stories and tios with ither campers, whilst avoiding the noise and insitutionalisation which comes with larger scale operations. My nephew and I were pleased out fire-starting skills were strong enough to barbecue our dinner and were grateful for the bonus teatime treats on offer, and the extra blanket! Currently a site for the self-sustaining camper (no standard charging or electric hook up points) makes this is simply special 😀 Good luck with your ongoing developments and growing family! Weekend Trip to Chrome Hill campers

Absolutely gorgeous location! Right next to Chrome hill, also know as Dragons back and a short drive to other greats hikes in the peaks such as Mam Tor. It’s a small site which only has 5 pitches for campers/ motorhomes or roof tents. Small but plenty of spec either side of your pitch and at the back so you have space for an awning/ gazebo set up. There is also a lovely little enclosed area with a picnic bench for everyone to use. Only one toilet but plenty for the fact there are only 5 pitches, it was lovely and clean with a hot water shower. There was also a little washing up area outside to clean your dishes and a tap for filling drinking water! Much more than I expected from such a small site. 100% we will be back as it’s a perfect location for hikes and a gorgeous stay! The hosts were also super friendly and helpful before and during our stay! Thank you again ☺️✨ Oh and it’s dog friendly, what more could you want.

A perfect few days. Very kind and friendly hosts. Wonderful walking, perfect weather, perfect view, the beautifully clean showers and toilets, freezer for freezy blocks, my kind of heaven. Looking forward to the Bala light railway next time. I will be back. Thank you.
