Great view, but that’s about it
We brought our camper van to this spot and went to the caverns for a concert. The property is wooded around the camping area. It’s very close to the highway, which I was prepared for and brought earplugs. If tent camping, I could see it really being an issue. The camping pad is covered in very loose, large chunks of gravel and it’s very difficult to walk on. There is absolutely no water at all, not even a stream. It’s devouring, because there are spigots and a water container, but neither work and the container is empty. The view is really great and it is super close (driving) to lots of trails and waterfalls. Overall, I didn’t mind our stay at the overlook. We discovered some new places to visit and will definitely be back to visit this area. Bring earplugs, plenty of water, good shoes and some sort of canopy for shade.
