The Lobster Boat Inn is located on a hill in the woods in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. It sits high and dry with no water in sight! You get the entire property to yourself. No barking dogs, loud music or annoying neighbours. No crowded RV or tent city here.

We provide visitors with a rustic, unique, "glamping" experience. The Boat is filled with lobster-themed items that will send you on an imaginary lobster pot-pulling adventure.
Cook on the back deck as you drink in nature, then eat in an original ship's wheelhouse or outside at the picnic table by the fire pit. Our amenities also include: fishing rods, comfy beds, fresh drinking-water, refrigerator, 2 bathroom facilities, a hot outdoor shower, walking trails, microwave, and AC. The boat can sleep 5 guests, but a private raised glamping tent is provided for overflow if required.
Off property you will find: auto race watching (at Riverside raceway), hiking, biking, ocean fishing, and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition runs from Aug 27-31.
Want to swim at St. FX University swimming pool? Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea!
Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of our many DVD movies, but instead why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, or friend, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, visit the golf course in town or just chill on the comfy deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have these close by too!
Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. (now 1/2 price) All are within an hour's drive.
At night, relax around the fire-pit after a long day of fun. Then have a sleep "extraordinaire” on board! (No waves to worry about with this boat!)

Two sites are available on our large wooded seaside property with lots of room to spread out. Raised bed veggie garden onsite to pick fresh vegetables or use our equipment to walk the beach and dig for clams, then pop into the nearby vineyard/winery to sample local wines.
We are just a few minutes from the Wood Islands visitor center, local seafood restaurants, candy/ice cream store and liquor store, and an award winning Vineyard. We are a five minute drive from the Wood Islands ferry to Nova Scotia.
Site #1 Rustic, off grid, solar powered tiny home in a charming seaside garden setting near our sandy beach. Queen size bed, kitchen with hot and cold water, full sized fridge and freezer, single burner propane hot plate, standard size shower with hot and cold water—no toilet on site. Gorgeous vintage outdoor garden bathtub with hot water in the garden.
Site #2 Tent or self contained camper site with epic ocean views of the Northumberland Street. Direct beach access. This site is a grassy mowed field next to a wooded area perched right on the shore. No amenities are provided.

This property has two buildings for rent. One is called the Sweet Suite and the other is called Easy Street.
The Sweet Suite contains a 3/4 bed and a pull out couch. There is a sink and a toilet. A deck with chairs, two burner butane camp stove. It is ideal for two people or three is close or family.
Easy Street has a futon, A screened in area and an outside deck. It has a magnificent view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence including beach and capes. It is ideal for a couple or two people who don't mind being close.
There is an outside shower and courtyard to service both buildings. The courtyard has a table and chairs, BBQ that guests are welcome to use.
Guests will have access to a set of stairs that lead to the water.
This is an off the grid property. The electricity is fueled by solar panels into batteries. Internet is available. There is a washing machine and a clothes line.
If you are the least bit uptight and need everything to be perfect this property is not for you. Ruth lives on the property in a separate building and is excited to share the beauty with like minded, appreciative people.

Weekend Trip to Peace and Friendship
Ruth's place is amazing. If you want a quiet and private place with the most beautiful view, this is it. I loved it. The outdoor shower is amazing (and big enough for two), plus the screened in porch so no bugs! Lots of bunnies, sea gulls, little bitty squirrels with attitude that'll make you laugh.

Magical. Quiet. Private. Beautiful. I totally enjoyed my getaway to Ruth's "Easy Street" hipcamp. Right on the water and away from the world, it was exactly the getaway location I'd hoped for, so I even stayed an extra day. The outdoor shower is fantastic. The endless changing beauty from sunrise to sunset will amaze you. I plan to return next year.

Weekend Trip to Peace and Friendship
Ruth welcomed me for my weekend stay as her very first Hipcamp guest, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The property sits just steps from the water and a nearby beach, and it’s well set up with a full kitchen (complete with a pizza oven!).
She provided much-needed coffee and great conversation, which made the stay feel extra warm and personal. I even got to use the pizza oven with fresh dough I picked up from a local pizza truck.
Ruth was an absolutely wonderful host, and I’d definitely stay here again. All around, an amazing spot.

The Lobster Boat has been one of our highlight of our trip around Nova Scotia! David took great care welcoming us in his unique place he built and we had a great time exploring the space. It is a peaceful place, yet pretty close to Antigonish city with all the amenities. Bonus point for being pet friendly!

I absolutely loved this experience! The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. The cabin was clean and it was perfect for my daughter and I. The pool and washrooms were close by and my daughter had fun meeting other kids staying there as well:) we would love to return here again !!! Truly a gem and not far from cavendish

This is my new favorite hipcamp to stay, 9.9 out of 10 because i couldn't find a toothpick, jokes. I had to leave early the next evening family emergency but by far the most peaceful sleep we both ever had, and remember to put some sandpaper foot slip grip on shower floor or jack it up level David brother, be well captain, could put a stocked trout pond beside her to be cooler, trucker joke, be well my friend, this ment the world to us and my friend more than you think. we will be visiting again forsure 10-4 houndog over and out

I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother and his wife and they said it was awesome and very unique. A lot of thought and details went into the design of the boat. They also said David was very friendly, personable and easy to talk to. David thought they were newlyweds (guessing he has guests coming who are) and even had a gift for them. Amazing and thoughtful.
