Fall brings a whole new dimension to this picturesque community nestled in the Upper Ottawa Valley. The fall foliage, with all its splendor during September and October, offers many opportunities for the camera buff or hiker.
The cabin is set on 100 plus acres of private, mostly forested land and has a beaver pond that creates habitat for many different species of birds and wildlife.
The Bunk House cabin can sleep six guests, with 2 single bunk beds and one single bunk over double bed. The kitchen area is complete with dishes, drink ware, pots, pans, utensils, toaster and coffee pot. A propane BBQ is also made available to our guests. The kitchen comes equipped with a 4 burner propane stove with an oven. A two burner camping stove can also be made available. A wood fired, air tight fireplace for warmth on those cooler nights, provides both comfort and ambiance (wood is provided).
Please note: guests must bring their own bedding/sleeping bag/pillow as we do not provide that.
The cabin is solar powered with a back up gasoline generator.
An outdoor fire pit with seating is close by, as well as an outhouse. Walking trails along the beaver pond and property are maintained for your hiking pleasure. There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers.

Welcome to Peddler's Passage Farm & Stay!
We operate a small-scale market/permaculture farm set on a beautiful 400-acre property. We are located in Calvin Township, between North Bay and Mattawa, on the fringes of Algonquin Provincial Park. The growing farm currently covers 1.5 acres of our scenic property. We grow a wide variety of crops here—from fresh asparagus and greens in early spring to juicy raspberries in midsummer, ending the season with potatoes and onions to cook over the fire at your private campsite.
Our property boasts 100 acres of rolling pastures filled with stunning views and some of the best sunsets in Calvin, as well as another 300 acres of forest with kilometres of maintained trails. These trails feature old-growth trees, three large beaver ponds, wild blueberries, abundant fungi, and bench seating where you can take a break and observe the many species of wildlife that inhabit the area.
The trail system offers varying degrees of difficulty, from double-wide, smooth trails to a 3 km rugged hiking trail that loops around our large beaver pond complex. The trails can be enjoyed during the winter months as well, with many groomed and maintained for private, peaceful cross-country skiing.
Included in your stay are fresh-picked, in-season produce and farm-fresh eggs, all grown right here at Peddler's Passage. There are also endless opportunities within a short drive of the farm, including Eau Claire Gorge, Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park, and fishing, swimming, and canoeing on many Northern Ontario lakes and rivers. The list goes on—come enjoy what this little township has to offer and experience true wilderness in this hidden diamond in the rough.

Very nice land, with many things to do. It really shows that they have worked hard on the place.
Signalisation on site was great, we apreciated having the bay so close and being able to go hike.
Couple of things to know….the bugs in august while we stayed were CRAZY. Our dog wanted to atay in the van most of the time because of that, so bring ton of bug spray.
Also, the campsite #1 is really close from the Glamping (accomodation). A couple was staying with 4 young kids and it was pretty loud.
Our 20’ van fit in the spot, but larger than that would be hard.
I’d recommend campsite #3 for more privacy.
The owner’s dog, who is very kind, is offleash and will probably come say hi. Good thing to know if you have a dog yourself.
The place is well kept, hosts are amazing and overall it was great. Good attention to details from the host!

Great communication as I thought I'd be getting there late, so clear instructions were given. Facilities were clean and no waiting for a hot shower! The river and beach are wonderful for kayaking and swimming. It felt very family friendly, safe and peaceful. I'd definitely camp there again

The host was awesome — gave us a tour of the property and shared some of its history, which was a nice touch. The place is cozy, private, and well set up. There's a BBQ and a large custom smoker, perfect for outdoor cooking. Although it's off-grid, the host has solar batteries and a generator, so power was never an issue. We really loved our stay and would definitely come back!

It was my family's first time camping and I must say, what a beautiful experience! We stayed at site 93 (lots of space and privacy), in our tent. The beach is beautiful, the park is nice, the bathrooms are clean, and the people are friendly. Although we didn't participate, we were informed of available activities. We will definitely visit again in the future.

Jennifer is lovely! So helpful & great service. The property is beautiful and off the beaten track. If you want to get away from people and unplug, this is the place for you! When the description says no cell service, it’s not kidding. I did a solo trip, and to contact my husband I had to drive about 8 minutes up the road on hwy 533 just to get 1 or 2 bars of service.
Some things to be aware of - the Little Dipper dome is right next to the Big Dipper dome. There’s a swath of trees between the two sites, but they don’t really provide much of a sound barrier (good privacy, though). Unfortunately, my neighbouring campers were quite loud, which wasn’t ideal.
It’s worth noting, that in summer (I stayed in July), the dome gets uncomfortably hot inside during the day, even with the screen door open, air vent on, and curtain closed and stays that way through the entire day, until the cooler morning/evening hours (enjoyable inside when cooler).
The hosts provide all the essentials, which is awesome! The composting toilet did not smell at all, and was clean/no flies.
I loved the nature sounds very much. The only thing I didn’t like, was the amount of bugs. Bugs don’t usually bother me, but even with bug spray they were incessant, which ruined my plans to soak up nature while there - since the nature experience was my whole reason to go, I was a little disappointed by that.
But I definitely will stay again, maybe in a different season (when there’s less bugs).

Everything was great! Big site right next to the beach with electricity, water and flush toilets very close (always clean). Hosts were very friendly and accommodating and so were the other people at the campground. Wood was delivered to our site and it was a good price for a lot of wood. Amazing fireworks display for Canada Day! Water was beautiful! Absolutely nothing to complain about.

A nice old schoolhouse lot with pool hot tub gazebo and firepit spots. It is close to provincial parks and the caves. Eva’s kitchen offers a wide variety hungarian meals. They are always fresh and very tasty. Eva and Sandor are excellent hosts. In this old schoolhouse inn you feel yourself just like you are in Grandma’s home and treated as good friends or family members
