Cheval Cellars BnB Camping

Overall we had a somewhat great experience but for the price tag it fell short. For two nights the total was $240 and there were no amenities except for a porta potty that was clean but did not have a water station and a pipe spewing cold water exposed to the road a short walk away. Luckily the trees are much taller than in the previous photos so there was some shade for most of the day. The field for the most part was not flat but did have enough flat areas for us to set up four tents. The first night was extremely windy, to the point where we contemplated leaving early. Thankfully the second night was much calmer and more enjoyable. I think there are much cheaper ways to camp but it was a was available last minute which was good.

Great little campsite outside Chelan. The site is perfect if you’re looking for a simple place to camp for a night or two and don’t need a lot of amenities. Location is quiet and great views of the lake and scenery below and easy to follow directions. Would recommend to others!

Peaceful getaway

Beautiful spot nestled between two vineyards with peaceful valley views. The site was quiet and relaxing. No hookups, but water and a clean porta potty were provided, which made it comfortable and easy. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a scenic, simple getaway.

Lovely spot to camp. Great view and with it being late September was able to enjoy the lovely smells coming from the Orchard. We had a slightly anxious dog who does not do well with other people or animals so it was a perfect spot for her to enjoy her first camping trip. A small picnic table is provided and we brought an extra 6 foot table which helped with placing all our food items and portable grill. Convenient spot for local wineries and to access Lake Chelan. Hope to return soon.

Beautiful spot but never again

This is without a doubt a beautiful spot to camp and with some TLC could be amazing but right now I hate to say it, I don’t recommend visiting for a number of reasons. We stayed in the Canyon and it was seriously overgrown with prickly, thorny bushes everywhere covering the entire site. It clearly hadn’t been maintained in weeks if not months. We had our dogs with us as it’s a pet friendly spot and it was not great for their paw pads or our legs (even with long pants and shoes). The wind is absolutely insane at night, we had two nights booked and left early because it was so bad and kept us up all night… it was like our tent was about to fly away. The morning we left we saw a rattlesnake that our one dog almost walked right into because neither he or us saw it hiding in the bush that covered the site. The site says there are toilets, showers, and potable water available… there is a port-a-potty about a 3 min walk from the camp site but the water is right at the front of the property which is easily a 5-7 min drive away or a 15-20 ish min walk. We never used the showers but I can tell you they weren’t anywhere even close to the campsite as it’s pretty far from everything. So because of the prickly bushes everywhere, rattlesnake encounter, extremely windy conditions at night, and far walk to amenities… I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re ready to really rough it!

This is SUCH beautiful place, and so conveniently located. The view is better than the pictures. :) We didn't have any trouble finding the place, and Marcus was prompt and great at communicating. Tent camping on this farm ridge is a little exposed, so just be prepared for some wind during the nights and sun during the evening, but the trees definitely help. Just stake your tent and it will be fine. Porta potty and sink were in great condition. We saw lots of deer and a marmot from a distance and lots of birds. Misters for the apples sometimes travelled our direction and felt really nice on hot days. The only thing to improve could be we had half of a picnic table so really just a bench. It was a bit difficult to cook on and use for the 3 people there, would appreciate having a full table if possible at some point. Would still come back either way!

Orchard Camping

Gorgeous place! You’re practically alone on the property, so you get to go to sleep listening to crickets and frogs and wake up from roosters and birds. ( no noisy neighbors!!) The view is beautiful, the porta potty is super clean, and the drive into town is easy. It’s my new favorite place to camp in the chelan area!

Beautiful location!! Stunning views. Lots of privacy on a gorgeous orchard and vineyard. Truly a gem of a spot. We visited over the 4th of July and had an unobstructed perfect view of the fireworks over the lake- a really special surprise. The wind that picked up at night was intense. We were not able to sleep well In our tent bc of the sharp winds that ripped through the canyon. Many points during the night we thought we would blow away or our tent would rip! Neither happened but we did choose to cut the trip a day early due to lack of sleep. Overall a lovely spot and we would definitely return with a better plan to block the wind.

The site is very private and has a nice view when you climb up the small hill. One thing to note is that the shower and bathrooms are not very close to the site, and the wind is very strong.

Our camp spot was beautiful with a view over looking lakes, hills and the orchard around us. We were the only site booked, so we had a ton of privacy. There was not a lot of afternoon shade, so I would recommend bring a shade tent or tarp. The shower and toilet were located in front of the bigger camp site which was about a 5 minute walk on a dusty road. If the big site had been occupied, the shower would be a bit exposed. We loved how much wildlife we were able to see including a colony of little marmots living right below the camp site.

Valley View is better than the pictures. Were first time campers so it was great to feel like we were away but still had wineries,market even a casino less than a 10 minute drive. There's deer that is spotted easily and frequently whe you walk through the orchards. Port a potties were clean the site is tranquill and peaceful. Valley with a vie is campsite #4

This is our second time camping here, always a beautiful spot. We stayed in our 20 foot travel trailer, no issues getting it in and out of the spot. FYI, the view spot does get a lot of afternoon sun so something to be aware of in the summer. There is a tree at the site so we were able to sit in the shade in the heat of the day and it did shade our trailer enough to keep it cool as well.

Marcus was a great communicator and made sure we had an awesome stay! The site was a perfect size with an incredible view. We took a stroll through the beautiful orchard and enjoyed some wine in his tasting room in Manson. It was great chatting and getting to know more about the history of the property from him!

This campsite was phenomenal! Marcus provided with easy and detailed instructions to find the hidden canyon. The site was private but easy to drive to downtown or to Chelan. There is a Cheval Cellars shop in downtown Manson as well and the wine is great! Could not recommend this spot enough!

Second time here, first time in MV2. We loved it and will definitely be back. While Chelan was crazy busy with holiday weekend crowds, it was peaceful and quiet on the edge of the orchard. We were too slow to capture a picture of the 6 deer that passed through camp but it was a thrill. We enjoyed lots of singing birds, the hoots of an owl and the night song of the frogs. Love it!

Great little canyon

Great little canyon to camp at while on our way through Chelan. I haven't had such a peaceful sleep in a long time. The stars and the sunset were awesome. Something to note is there is not a large view from "in" the camp spot (unless you consider the beautiful cliffs as a view, which I do!) If you walk 20 feet up the little hill then you have an excellent place to soak it all in. I'd come back here if I were to pass though again- thanks Marcus.

I was in Mountain View site #1 in a 28’ trailer, I would not recommend any trailer longer than that only because there’s a water pump in the way for anything longer. I also recommend backing in from the road. Plenty of room for tow vehicle in front of the pump. Very clean satellite by the road, and there’s a water spigot there too. Very quiet, saw several deer traipse by.

Beautiful camping spot!

This is our 2nd year staying at Cheval Cellars. Marcus is a great host - he offers easy check-in, well kept and beautiful camping grounds, & bathroom accommodations. The property is absolutely breathtaking with amazing views! He also makes really great wine on his vineyard and has a shop in town. We will definitely stay here again!

Great view in Chelan wine country

This campsite is private with a fantastic view. The field is grass and well taken care of. It was off the main road but easy to find with the directions Marcus provided. Right in the middle of wine country. We will be back.
