The jAy frAme
Perfect hybrid camping spot where you can rough it without plumbing while enjoying a cozy indoor with electricity. Complete with a perfect campfire setup and gas grill if you choose. My boy and I actually pitched a tent on the deck, which was perfect!

Views from the deck and through the glass front of the house were great. A lot of nice details: some leftover bug spray, corkscrew, lighters, firewood. Nice grate for cooking over fire. The bathroom was very clean and well cared for.

Gorgeous campsite up a rocky hillside. We loved the gorgeous views of the Texas hill country. Small cabin, but enough room to sleep four adults inside and four dogs on the decks.

We loved our stay here! Such beautiful views of the hill country! With having a fire pit outside and a neat wood burning stove in the cabin gives this place such a wonderful feel! I would highly recommend staying here!

Wow! Let’s just say the Hoku House is absolute perfection, and more! Everything about it was fun and amazing. We couldn’t have been happier and definitely plan to book many more nights there in the future. The host, Jay, was extremely kind, generous, and helpful. Everything we needed was provided for us and it was just an overall awesome stay. If you’re looking for a unique fun time, book the Hoku House right away!

It’s a fantastic place to get away from Austin without having to go too far. The cabin was cozy and stayed very warm with the wood stove. It is a stargazers paradise. I ended up bringing my telescope and had great views from all around.

This cabin is absolutely amazing! The view from inside is just perfect. My friend and I stayed here for two nights for her 30th birthday. When we arrived Jay had fully stocked the cabin with wood, and even preloaded the stove for us. The stove kept the cabin nice and toasty in the 20 degree weather. Jay’s cabin reminds me of my home in Alaska. Do yourself a favor and book a few nights in this beautiful cabin. The pictures do not do it justice!

This is a great space! The hammock & back deck are lovely! I jammed out to some awesome records. The cabin is incredibly well-made. The host is communicative, accommodating & very responsive. Was awesome to have electricity. Beware of the uncomfortable futon & bring your own bedding or air mattress. I would definitely stay here again.

The jAy frame was absolutely amazing! It has outstanding views of the rolling hills. The cabin itself was great- very warm and stylish. I didn’t realize that there would be a grill, a bathroom, and trash cans, which was great because I forgot to bring trash bags! My friends and I had a blast.

The cabin was very clean and setup well. There was no coffee maker, the futon is very uncomfortable bring a sleeping solution. The area surrounding was nice and quiet, well setup and the outhouse was very clean. What was not great was someone discharging a firearm multiple times around midnight (there is someone's property right up behind cabin over hill). It's secluded but not private, there was someone walking a dog right through the property where were staying and upon on the day we were leaving we were under the impression we had til 12pm to pack up. At 10 a.m. someone pulled up on the property and went to work on a campsite right next us.

Absolutely amazing trip here. Beautiful views and a super accommodating space for you to stay. Vinyl collection was cool and the hammock was great for two. Directions and communication with Jay was excellent. Would def recommend.

Great setup for a night of glamping. The a-frame stayed cool at night and the stereo sounded great. Outside the space was setup well with seating and fireplace. Jay even had some firewood. Do have awd if you want to attempt the hill up to the site.

jay was the kindest most accommodating host. he was *incredibly* responsive, communicative and to top it all off even offered to bring us coffee since the cabin was out of pods. 💗 the cabin is absolutely sick and decorated with care and the best vibes. there was SO many places to chill out at and different areas to get a new view and just soak in the beauty of the area. we’ll definitely be back next time we visit and we had the best and most comfy time :)

Absolutely amazing! I had been having a stressful week and we booked this as a getaway from it all. Jay was a perfect host and my husband and I truly enjoyed the peace and quiet. The views and location are beautiful. Inside the home Jay has a fantastic record collection that we really enjoyed. We utilized the futon and Jay is correct in saying “if you like each other” it works. Next time we may bring our air mattress, but the futon is not bad.

finally figured out how to leave a review lol. Loved the Jay frame! We were passing through and needed somewhere to sleep and it was perfect. VERY impressive album collection too 🖤 would for sure stay again.

This place is such a gem! Close enough to town but far enough away to really feel like a getaway. My kids loved playing outside and I loved sipping tea on the balcony. Jay was super helpful and a great host. Would highly recommend!

If you ever feel the need to “run away” solo style for a short get away in nature, this is the place to do it! So beautiful and peaceful and PRIVATE. I stayed here during the blood moon/ lunar eclipse and.... WOW.!! Jay has this raised platform/deck that is perfect for stargazing! And the sunrise here is BREATH-TAKING! Everything was perfect.

It's all about that new cabin smell! We had a great stay at the jAy frAme. The property is gorgeous with those classic hill country views and a view of Lake Travis. There's cedar all around, which smells great (don't forget your allergy medicine), and they've incorporated a few of the trees into a cute little tree house.
The outhouse experience was very clean and tidy -I might even go so far as to say chic! And it was nice to have the rain barrel and soap available for washing hands and dishes.
We ended up with a rainy weekend, but had a great day eating crawfish at The Real New Orleans Style Restaurant in Marble Falls, then playing board games we brought in the cabin the rest of the day.
The AC unit and mini fridge worked great and were nice to have.

When first arriving we drove around the peak of a picturesque hill looking for the spot. It was the whole damn peak! Seriously there was space up there for 2-3 more campsites. Beautiful land. Great fire pit, Hammock, picnic table.
The outhouse is what it is. A bucket. I brought a bucket with a lid to dispose of our waste when we left. Suggest you do this as well. For longer stays you could pack some sawdust for the outhouse it will make things way better.
The A frame was great! A ton of privacy and some sweet records and sound system. (we listened to Jimi Hendrix and Zepplin). I brought a Small portable grill and some charcoal made breakfast and ate on the back porch. 10/10 would recommend.
Jay you really outdid yourself! Congrats on the sweet place. It would be hard for me to share it with others, Thank you.

This was a great place to stay. We loved the view and the tiny house was amazing. It was rainy during our trip, but we still had fun playing board games and listening to music. I’d recommend staying no matter the weather. The only negative is the cleaning fee. It’s pretty normal to have to haul away trash on Hipcamp, but there’s a cleaning fee here so I’d love if that was included . Great Value, Beautiful Views, Fun Night

Jay has an awesome setup in beautiful and peaceful environment. The design elements of the A Frame are awesome and AC was a very nice treat on a hot Texas afternoon. The vinyl collection was a nice touch and really set a vibe for the experience. Communication from Jay was 10/10. We couldn’t ask for more! We will be back.

This cabin was awesome! We loved it. Perfect night away from the city. Quiet, away from it all but close to Turkey Bend Rex Area. Would absolutely stay here again.

Jay’s cabin was a great get-a-way for us. Only 40 minutes from Austin made this ultra convenient to jet out on a Friday after work and stay for 2 nights. . The cabin is so cozy and a pleasure visually, inside and out! The record player was a hit and we listened to a variety of music from old school country to Depeche Mode to AC/DC to Led Zeppelin. What a treat! The views are incredible and we never got tired of gazing at them. We slept on the futon and it was roomy enough for two. We brought cat litter to add to the outside toilet which made it alot more tidy and tolerable. No fire with the burn ban and winds and if we had any suggestions for Jay, (which is difficult because everything was pretty darn perfect!) would be to consider a chiminea, which would be a nice way to enjoy a fire that’s nice and contained. We would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful and tasteful setting!

Arrived with no troubles, directions were given extremely well. The host did an incredible job at answering any questions we had during our stay. The cabin and camp site gave a stunning scenery of the hill country. I highly recommend this site for anyone looking for a camping experience with the luxury of a clean and beautiful cabin.
