River Rock Camp
Early spring camping!
Easy to access and yet private. While there were others camping we didn’t see or hear them at all - plenty of space to spread out with our group of six+dogs!
While not “fancy” the table, fire pit, shovels, pit toilet, friendly animals, and beautiful views definitely were on point and appreciated! Thanks for having us!

Second time here and exactly what I needed. Space and closest you can get to off grid in this area. Love all the animals!

Adobe Casita
Beautiful location, friendly host
The tiny home was amazing. Having wifi helped me work remotely. Emory was very accommodating and even came over from the main house to remove a scorpion I was too afraid to touch, but turned out to be harmless. 😅 it was a lovely quiet week and we enjoyed cooking and reading together.

Great stay!
Very well kept and easy to find! The firepit worked great and there is a nice brook and meadow right at the spot.

Adobe Casita
Excellent EcoRich Casita!
Loved everything about this location. My two little boys (3 and 5) and I made some core memories here and we’ll be back for more. Emory’s land is perfectly located—far out enough to be remote but close enough to three small towns that have everything you need within a 20 min drive. The casita is perfectly appointed with a small kitchen, bathroom, shower and enough conveniences to keep you comfortable year round.
Emory’s land boasts goats, sheep dogs, cows and enough chickens and ducks to keep kids busy feeding them. The river provided a great first time fishing experience and excitement for my little dudes (we caught and released two fish!)
The most honest review from the two harshest critics: “Dad can we stay for a long long time?” and “when are we coming back again?”

Emory’s land was perfect for our family of three to tent camp! Perfectly secluded and close to the creek. Saw a beaver, armadillo and deer. We will definitely be coming back.

Nice little place
We liked the site! It’s not entirely like in the woods but it is way far enough away from any other campers or campsite. This is a key feature for us camping - to be as remote as possible. We were not entirely sure about how to get to the creek, but we did find our way. It be nice to have a more clearer explanation to find it, maybe this is on us, either way, make sure you ask the host when he arrives to greet you! It’s worth it!!

I will not go anywhere else. I've been to all of Emory's land dozens and dozens of times of the years. Always a great time.

Camping with cows!
I camped at River Rock in a truck bed tent with my dog. The trees provide ample shade coverage, and the scenery is beautiful! The cows came through a few times on their way down to the creek. Very calm and social ladies. My dog had a great time swimming in the creek off and on. Lots of fish in there, too! During less dry times, it would be great for some leisurely kayaking.

Beautiful scenic spot!
My family absolutely loved our stay at River Rock! The creek was so beautiful and full of nature (we even saw a Beaver!) , the land was beautiful and very remote! At night we saw a lot of fireflies. We will definitely stay again!

Location is so good! The cows were probably my favorite part! Really a unique experience
Brookside Camp
This land is very beautiful, peaceful, and scenic. Main issue, the cows have access to all camps and leave poop EVERYWHERE. You can't escape the flies, we didn't bring food. I can't imagine a family preparing food, it would be horrible with flies. We just wanted peace and if the castle was separated it would make such a big different. The ants, you can't really get comfortable. They're everywhere. With improvements I would come back, the property is beautiful and Emory has a lovely family. Just some things to be aware of for consideration

Beautiful & secluded tent camping
This site helped me relax. You're far enough rural to be "middle of nowhere," but it doesn't take all day to get there. 1.5 hr from FtW. Also, you don't feel cut off from the world if that's a concern. I had 2 bars cell phone service, enough to call home and tell them I made it. I could still hear (but not too noisy) cars on the roads and see a house across the pasture. I wanted to be alone, felt I had full privacy and wouldn't have to see or hear another person's voice/noise. I had plenty of nature sounds to help me get away.
The site is nice with an old wood table and a newer plastic picnic table. There's a fire ring made from rocks, but not a grill. There's a pit toilet that's better than squatting in a hole that makes life a little more "comfortable." There's plenty of space for tents under the large shade trees. There were a few presents left from the cows but not a problem and the cows never came to visit.
The creek is beautiful and relaxing. At night, I could see plenty of stars but also still had the glow from DFW.
I drive a Charger and going slow had no problem getting there, but it was very dry. I can see if it was wet it could be a problem. I met the host on the drive way as I was leaving and he thanked me for coming.

River rock is a great spot on Emory's land! Allowed for our group's 5 dogs to run and play freely. Situated amongst the cows adjacent to a creek with nice cover. We had a nice time for a weekend away from the city.

Quick Simple Camping
This is a nice place to stay if you are traveling through! We had a really big area all to ourselves. There were some cattle but they didn’t really come near our campsite except on the other side to get to the creek. It’s close to a lot of things like the Dinosaur State park! It’s def worth it for a small couple or single.
