Maitland Campsites River Overlook
I STRONGLY recommend this stunningly beautiful farm, and with Bernice blessing us with sharing all of the land.
There's a beach adjacent to the creek which is refreshing to dip into. And the beach created this past June, which enhances the ALREADY amazing experience you (or anyone for that matter). The entire beach bonfire effect at night with the gorgeous moon 🌙 being so deep red.... ? Stunningly gorgeous!!!!
There is also an amaaaaazing HUGGGGGE water slide 🛝 which proves to make it doubling the entire experiences there!
I'm actually mind blow 🤯 at the MANY attractions, such great people that have become regulars ( some every other wknd).
I personally took a backwoods site ( which they offer such a huge variety of camping experiences). My site being "THE RAVENS NEST ", Bernice names all sites after birds 🐦
I was the only backwoods tent ⛺️ camper, but she allowed me to customize my site, as backwoods tent campers are few, i wish i had my phone or tablet with me, but it seems to defeat the purpose.. Right?
There's a "Blue Jays Nest" which I was tp take, and that site it right at the beach ⛱️ and behind the site immediately the creek is there.
Bernice, I cannot thank you enough for what became JUST what I needed, shut down electric devices, and simply enjoy the land, wildlife. People.
I give a 💯 for this country experience.
Please look inside the door, there is a Terracotta planter on the bakers rack and one down on the beach.

We love this small campground where my cat can run free. We feel very safe. We love swimming in the pond and watching the abundance of wildlife on the Maitland River.
Thanks for a safe and wonderful experience.

Tent camping was breathtaking in so many ways, the swimming pond was really nice, the beach could use a bit of maintenance, the campsites were nice with provided table and fire pit. We enjoyed the fantastic views and overall just enjoyed the experience. The host didn’t greet us when we arrived or at all for our two night stay, which is fine but it would have been nice to get some information about trails and such

My family loved this camping trip. We could only stay for one Saturday night as I had to work Sunday night, but I booked 2 nights so we could stay until sunset the next day. It was so good to be out in the farm. The shallow river at one side, the corn farm to the other. We stayed up until 3am with soft music and bonfire. There was only 1 other group camped next to the pond. And that’s it. It was very private. Bernice was so kind to give us 4 jugs of water for washing. We brought our own drinking water.
My kids stayed and played at the pond the next day. It’s deep in the middle so they stayed only at the beach building sandcastles.
They have portapotties, which were very clean.
We got firewood from a house at the nearest intersection.
Use Google maps for precise location. Apple maps showed us to a different site.

Beautiful spot with everything you need. Private and secluded with good separation from main house - particularly since we were the only campers there for the night.
Easy to access, clear instructions, felt like we had the help if we needed it without being imposed upon.
Would be a great spot for a group to camp together.
10/10 we will be back.

This is a great property! They have a man made pond for swimming in and a maintained grass area for playing. It is one portapotty for the 7 campsites which is roughly 300ft - 500ft away (estimating) but it is well maintained and clean. You are parking / camping side by side so it is not private, but the spots all have a fire pit for you to use. Where we were, there was no direct access to the river, but it seemed like there may have been another site at the river. There was no mention of this site in the directions provided so we did not venture down, but it looked like a much better area to be in to be honest. All in all a good experience and the kids had fun !

Beautiful property. Wildlife galore. Saw deer, raccoons, and lots of birds. Lovely walking around the property and river. Sites level and clean with fire pits overlooking the river and private swimming hole. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful weekend!!

First time user of HipCamp and chose here for our first outing. It was very easy to find and easy to get to the sites. Even with a 40 foot fifth wheel there was enough room to back in easily. The site overlooked the river which was nice. Very peaceful and relaxing setting with trails to walk the dog. Bernice came to see us and made sure all was good and if there was anything we needed. They sell firewood and I have to say it was the best firewood we have purchased all summer long !! Overall……… very friendly host, and very nice to boondock for the weekend. We will definitely be back.

Excellent weekend! We traveled with our friends, we were the only two trailers there. We both have 40 ft trailers.... was easy to back in to our spot, thankfully there was empty space infront of our sites, which allowed for an easy back in. Our trailer overlooked the river below. Very quiet, and would love to return as the leaves start to change! We purchased wood for $10 and it was dry and burned great!

Camping on Bernice's land was great! The campsite was good size and was close to the water. Bernice was very friendly as well! Very animal friendly! I would definitely return.

We went with are daughters ages 5 and 7 they had an amazing time . Beautiful little beach for swimming and playing with sand toys . The washrooms were clean and not to far from our spot we would be happy to stay here again .

Tent camping was great on Bernice’s property! there was a picnic table at our site as well as a fire pit. the property itself is beautiful along a little river with a little sandy beach area will definitely be coming back!!

Bernices spot was perfect for the kids. Lots of space to run around, they swam in the pond, built sand castles and explored the river.( very shallow and full of nature!!!) We we’re glad we brought a big umbrella as Bernice let’s you know some sites are quite hot in the sun. Bernice was very kind, responded quickly and made sure we had what we needed. My grandson has a fear of big dogs and we very much appreciated Bernices “pets on a leash rule”. We had a fabulous time. Highly recommend this spot. Pond, river campsite all steps from each other.

Very nice spot! Would be even much more enjoyable during the Spring, Summer & Fall. Our visit was in November. Nice, level camp sites with a gravel finish - perfect!

Great fall stay! Great views of the river and what looks like an awesome little man made beach sand pond that would be amazing in the summer. We didn't have any interaction with anyone from arrival to departure, and had the whole place to ourselves. It was terrific!

Very nice spot to stay. Was only there for one night. But wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Easy to find. Flat, level ground to set up. And very nice spot to view the river.
