Its a beautiful place, nice lake and great spot but its very close to the road so cars passing quite often and we had to always watch the dogs or tie them so they don't wonder off to the road

The Sliver by the River
We stayed for 3 nights at this beautifully maintained site that had everything we needed: picnic table, fire pit, dock with chairs, and a paddle boat! The road wasn’t too busy, the area was quiet, and the water was the perfect temperature! It was a bit awkward fitting our 26ft trailer in through the trees but we made it work with where it was. We will definitely book again!

Camping close to Sheridan Rapids was alot of fun. Great swimming near the bridge. The lazy river float was super fun - if the water levels were a bit higher it woulda been perfect. Walk to the water was a bit longer than expected, but still less than 10 minutes along a quiet road. Ryan was responsive and helpful. Thanks again!

We had a perfect stay! The campsite is very well maintained, with plenty of shade and direct access to the river for swimming. The pitches are spacious and the whole place feels peaceful and welcoming. Truly a top-notch spot — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Overall we enjoyed our time here! The site was private and clean. The owner also delivered wood to us short notice which was appreciated! We did expect better and closer access to the river from this site from asides from that it was good.

My fiancé and I were looking for a weekend getaway and this was the most perfect spot. It’s easily accessible, private, and you have your own dock, pedal boat, fire pit, and picnic table waiting for you. It’s the most perfect way to spend a sunny and warm summer weekend. Close drive to small quaint towns such as Carleton Place and Lanark where we explored cute shops. Not to mention the firefly light show that surrounds the campsite each night! Host was extremely responsive and so kind. We just got back today and have already recommended it to friends!

This place makes camping what it should be, just you and nature.
There is so much room and lots to explore.
It's a beautiful spot.

Great spot with so much room and privacy. Would be great for a large group.
Very quiet with the sounds of nature and the rapids.
If you have dogs there is lots of room for them to run and play and it's away from the road.
We will be back.

Was a great site! Able to pull right in! Great trees spaced perfectly for hammocks, sand ground and spacious site!
Loved having the dock!
Ryan was great and we were able to purchase wood and farm fresh eggs from him!
Would absolutely go back!

The Sliver by the River
Overall it is a gorgeous site with a beautiful view. The hosts and community are very friendly and the site was in perfect condition upon arrival. The hosts weren't home when we arrived but some local neighbors helped us find the spot. (I should note, we did arrive a day late).
It is not private at all and very close to the road. Ultimately we ended up leaving a day early due to the amount of noise from road traffic and people fishing directly across and beside us. It was actually quieter in our backyard in town.
There was also the fear of drunk drivers over the course of the long weekend as there were two questionable moments with vehicles that we witnessed.
We would most likely not rent this site again unless for the day to utilize the lazy river but will most likely check out the other site they offer.
Ryan (the host) was always very quick to respond and extremely helpful/kind. His wife and two little girls (adorable) brought is firewood and both checked in on us at different points and also upon noticing we left early to make sure everything was OK. I don't think you can meet kinder people.

Enjoyed our stay at the large private campsite. The site was well maintained and quiet. We took advantage of the limited cell reception to disconnect for a weekend.

An amazing camping experience. We were a group of 6, we had lots of things to bring. There is about a 5-10 minute walk from the road to the secluded site. Our host was kind enough to tow our belongings, tents, food, etc. both to and from our site. He was a very personable man and was happy to answer any of our questions. The campsite itself was gorgeous, it was a clearing in a forested area that was freshly lawn-mowed before our arrival. At our site there was a fire pit already made for us and our host gave us lots of firewood at a very reasonable price to maintain the fire as long as we needed it. It was a quiet site far away from any neighbours such that we could be as loud as we would like without bothering anyone, or we could be very quiet and enjoy the peace and quiet the site offers. There was more than enough space for all 6 of us. We heard many animals but amazingly we never encountered any pests such as raccoons or coyotes.
The only small challenge was navigating the trail at night, perhaps a ribbon to follow or arrows would allow us to follow the trail a little easier.
But by our second day we had the trail memorized and there were no issues.
There is water access to a river but unfortunately we did not end up going. Though, on the drive there, the river is clear and very clean.
Overall I cannot recommend this site enough, it was better than advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you again to Ryan for helping us out and letting us stay!

Another great stay at Ryan's, we got to use the large firepit and enjoyed roasting hotdogs over the fire.
Ryan added an access to the water front with some sand and a spot for a fire.
This is a great spot with tons of space and full privacy.
My dogs just love running around the site.
Looking forward to another stay.

We had an amazing time at Ryans site! It is the perfect little spot and a very quiet area. The water was perfect and calm enough for the young kids to swim. The site is sandy which was great so there was no mud and the kids could play with their sand toys. Ryan was very friendly and sold us some wood (very cheap and lots of wood!) as well as some delicious maple syrup that we used for breakfast the next day. He also offered to let the kids meet all the baby animals although we ran out of time for that. We will definitely be back!!

Great spot right on the river. Excellent swimming right off the dock, lots of fun flailing down river on a tube.
Defiantly hope to be able to stay again.
The host was very helpful with instructions and information on the area.

Awesome spot on the river! Not a lot of traffic and lots of trees and brush for privacy. The site is all sand and we were able to set up a couple tents, hammocks and tarps. Dogs loved it too

We had a wonderful time. The site was easy to find and had room for the dining tent, sleeping tent and still have lots of room around the fireplace and picnic table. Beautiful waterfront. We did see a few people come out to the bridge nearby to go fishing. Overall was great and Ryan met up with us when we pulled in to introduce himself. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend.
