There was more perks then listed in the ad we were grateful for the levelled deck platform for the tent and the provided barbecue , although we didn’t need it ! Was a nice extra ! Lake was within walking distance via the dirt road ! And another just a short distance in a vehicle ! Plenty of firewood !

Amazing spot! There were way more things available than mentioned on the site. It was peaceful, and we loved being able to walk about 30 minutes to reach a beautiful lake for swimming. Super comfy and perfect for luxury-style camping. We also loved having warm muffins and fresh eggs every morning — and the hosts were incredibly kind

A beautiful spot with excellent accommodations. Michelle provided such a perfect spot, set up in a way that was easy for us to be comfortable and enjoy the nature around us. The area is gorgeous, and we enjoyed hiking trails in the area and sightseeing. There is also a town close by with everything you need.

Directions from the pin is a little off but Michelle and Carlton are very responsive and got us to the site very easily. Heater works wonderfully even on the low setting. Grill at the site worked too and was super grateful for the propane provided. Enclosed shower outside works hot and cold. Owners will provide directions on how-to.
King lake road looked beautiful for walking and very secluded, all Fall season campers would enjoy this spot very much.

We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful and peaceful forest escape. The nights were cool, but the propane heater heated the whole space up quickly and effectively. The upstairs bed was comfortable and peaceful looking out over the trees. I spent most of my time in the hammocks. We appreciated the battery powered pump water in the outdoor kitchen. Thanks again to Michelle and Carlton for sharing their space.

This is the second time I've been to the cabin. New upgrades: a propnane-heated hot shower with 2 intake knobs that must be turned on and hot/cold temperatures adjusted; a battery-powered faucet that draws water from a spring water bottle; extra battery for charging smartphones and even computers.
My visit was in early October and fall colours were in mid season. So photo opporturnites. Rye Road or King Lake Road which the site is located looked amazing.
To operate the propane heater, hold down the right knob and turn to Pilot, hit the Ignite button repeated until there's a fire, keep holding Pilot knob for 30 seconds and release, then hold down Pilot and turn counterclockwise to adjust temperature. Don't forgot to open a window.

This lodge is even better than it looks in the pictures. We had the best quiet time in the perfect woods. I was worried about the kitchen and shower but it was more convenient than I expected. I would give it a 10 out of 10 and will be back during the fall leaves season. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some quiet time. We also loved paddling on Eagle Lake, which is a 10 minute far.

Weak to no cellphone reception. Solar power charges smartphones on most days with the 2 USB plugs in the red inverter, and even computers and power banks with the power bars on sunny days. There is a wooden kitchen platform with a patio, BBQ grill and sink. Kitchenware in the cabin. A private shower. A few jugs of spring water are provided. You can get a portable shower at Canadian Tire or Walmart and fill it with water at a car wash. The route from the south to the cabin is longer but more drivable then that from highway 522. A pickup truck or 4X4 can easily navigate either routes, but a car might get in from the south. Overall, awesome experience.

Stayed at the tent site with my daughter, sister and niece. At time of booking with Michelle I was advised was "newly" opened so not to expect all that much. There was a fire pit a few chairs but no table/picnic table. This was not a problem as we made due with what we had brought and what was provided. Carlton was great and provided lots of information on the area as far as places to put in my canoe and swim. He told us if we had any questions just to pop down the road and ask. The site itself was newly groomed and in the process of having the extended area cleared I assume for other sites. We had use of the trailer as there was no outhouse which they were waiting to have delivered. Michelle and Carlton were kind enough to provide water onsite which was great. We were able to use the trailer to store some of our gear. With all the fallen trees from the work they are doing there was ample camp wood/blow down. The tent site was spacious and flat and we loved sitting and laughing around the campfire star gazing through the beautiful treelined site. I have done allot of backcountry in the South River area but had never taken the time to really stop and explore the town. We did so on the Saturday of out stay, and am so thankful we did! Site was also dog friendly which was enjoyed immensely by our 4legged friend. Thank you Michelle and Carlton for a great weekend excited to see what you have planned next!

The off-grid cabin was lovely to stay in! My dad and I spent the weekend up there for our birthdays and we were very happy with the place :)
The cabin and the grounds were clean and Michelle and Carlton were very nice hosts.
The quietness was what stood out to us alongside the nice lush forest.
Saw some cool owls as well, would definitely come back. Thanks for a nice stay!

I loved the cabin Camping on this site , great cabin nestled in the deep woods . It's a little bit tricky getting there as the Internet is choppy closer to the site but with some assistance from the hosts we made it safe and sound and enjoyed our long weekend !!! There's an abundance of wildlife throughout and you can also spot some tracks ! Definitely return again ! 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We found mice in the cabin. We left as soon as we saw them and didn’t get reimbursed for the night we didn’t stay. Wont be coming back.

First off, Michelle and her family were great! Very accommodating, very responsive and was a pleasure to deal with. The property was tucked away and was an awesome stay. Complete privacy with more than enough to make your stay comfortable. Short drive into south river and other towns. The bunkie sat inside their massive property that allowed us to hike and explore. It was close to lakes with easy access to boat launches. If you are in to atv’s and snowmobiles they are right by some amazing trails. Even if you are not, and just want a peaceful time away and just want to be tucked in a cabin away for the busy city life then this is the place for you. We will definitely be back!
