Meridian is a very welcoming host to her sweet campsite which was just as described. I felt safe there which is important for a single female traveler. She gave great guidance as to where I could go locally (within 5 min walk or drive) to enjoy views of the water and to the local beach where I enjoyed a gorgeous sunset. Yes the train rattled through during the night, so come prepared or let it lull you to sleep. Sweet town close by with pubs and a coffee shop and a pharmacy. Such a sweet way to start my journey.

If your expecting privacy this is not the place for you .
I had an amazing time .
There is some mixed reviews.
I love trains so the train close by was amazing .
The camping spot backs onto a ravine . There's a creak a min walk down the road . There's 2 known beaches both in walking distance and an amazing hidden gem of a beach around the rocks . Don't be afraid to explore the second beach and do a bit of rock climbing. The beach is breathtaking.
The small town is very close to the Big Apple. And such nice people in town . The food is 5 star in town .
The bathroom situation if your not used to going to the bathroom outside. . This is not the spot for you
I had to leave early as I hurt myself on an adventure. But I wold go back I had an amazing time very peaceful

Not expensive for what we had! The only thing what bordered us the most was the train⌠but in general, really good! The owner was always there if we needed something!

The family that owns the property is fairly polite, however they canât guarantee how loud itâs going to be outside. Minimal privacy and very jarring train sounds throughout the night should be noted.

[ ] Literally just someone's front lawn
[ ] Side of road - traffic noises were loud throughout the night but it wasn't THAT busy either
[ ] By train tracks :/ loud MULTIPLE times... like every half hour... ALL night. My boyfriend didn't get any sleep, I slept fine lol
[ ] Hill is STEEP, be careful not to slide down accidentally
[ ] Saw turkeys! Very upclose :)
[ ] Bathroom.... has no privacy, 1 curtain "wall"
[ ] Thunder box is on an angle with a hole near the front bottom so watch where your feet are when peeing...
[ ] Lots of barking dogs at night
[ ] Gun shots???? In the morning
[ ] But only $20 a night so still worth it ig?
[ ] Plus $10 for unlimited firewood!
[ ] Awesome location that's very close to Port Hope Salmon run (reason for our visit)
[ ] And the contact person was very sweet and easy to talk to on messages :)

This is a perfect place to pitch a tent. The small town is quaint and very close to the shores of Lake Ontario. It is only a few minutes walk to the lake. I found the sound of the occasional train charming. Any traffic on the street seemed to disappear near bedtime.
Meridian is friendly and a delightful host.

It was a great site and the host was really friendly and kind. The only problem is the train track that is near the camp site and it pass really frequently and its loud.

Meridian was very nice with us when ever we ask for something she was there for us
The things that other people has to expect
-Train noise
-Toilette not adequate
- on the picture it shows that the lake is in front off the tente and you will be inside the wood but it's not , you have road on the back and nothing on the front

The owner is a sweet person and the camp site was nice. Only thing was the noise from 2 trains tracks ans the proximity of the road . On week, it's terrible but on week-end, it's ok.

I had a great time camping here! The area is super beautiful. Its a quick walk to the water, and a quick drive to another beach or the super cute town. Meridan was unbelievably kind and helpful which made the stay even better. Hope to come back one day!

Camping at Meridian's place was great. Super easy to find and she was a great host. It's a short drive or walk to a small park on the lake and to a little village; all in all a great area!
