Our property is located in Providence Bay across from the longest sand beach on Manitoulin Island. We are situated along the Mindemoya River and boast riverside views from our accommodation sites while also being a 2 minute walk (or less!) to the Providence Bay boardwalk and beach. We offer a great place to launch your kayak or paddle board, fish, listen to weekend musical entertainment, watch a glorious sunset or take a stroll on the beachfront boardwalk. Families enjoy the shallow sand beach, a large beachside playground and the local Interpretive Centre. Our central location makes a great base for exploring other attractions on Manitoulin Island.

The Chickadee Rest campsite is located along the Mindemoya River with easy access to the river's edge. The level grassy area. is good for both tent and trailer camping. Electric hook up is available (15 amp service), please bring your own extension cord. Guests will enjoy a large open area surrounded by towering pine, cedar and spruce trees. Enjoy your morning coffee while soaking up the sun along the river or launch your kayak or paddle board to explore the river and Providence Bay. Guests have access to outhouses and a shower house. The campsite is reasonably private but there are cottagers and potentially, other campers in the areas adjacent to the site.

The Killdeer is a rustic 100 sq ft overnight cabin located alongside the Mindemoya River. East facing views of the river offers morning sun and afternoon shade beneath the towering cedar and spruce trees. This cute little cabin offers a double bed, basic cutlery and dishes, a hot plate and a deck. Guests will have access to a shared outhouse and shower house with heated water. There is one electrical outlet in each cabin and potable water is available from a tap at the central Pump House. Guests will have a grass and campfire area to themselves but there may be another group visible 100 feet away. This cottage is located very close to the beach and the bridge crossing the river so there may be some occasional road or beach noise. Please Note: Guests will need to bring their own bedding (double bed), pillows and towels. If necessary we can provide linens for an extra fee, please inquire.

Chickadee Rest - Riverside Campsite

Deanne and Wayne were so friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. The property is so close to the beach and is a quick walk into town. The creek that is behind the camp site is lovely to enjoy a cup of coffee along in the morning!

Chickadee Rest - Riverside Campsite

The campground/resort is very cozy with cabins & a trailer scattered throughout the property. The Chickadee campsite was wonderful - right next to the woods, with its own private path to the river (a lovely spot for morning coffee in the sun). Also close to the (very clean and un-smelly) outhouse/vault toilet, shower, and water tap. Good mix of sun and shade. And power! Access to the beach across the street was incredible! Also within walking distance of the town. Deanne was a warm and welcoming host. Really felt at home here. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything more! :)

Chickadee Rest - Riverside Campsite

The Chickadee Rest campsite was lovely, we lucked out and had the area to ourselves. We enjoyed being surrounded by trees with access to the creek from our campsite. The shower was clean with plenty of hot water and the owners are working on building a washroom beside the shower. The campground is across the street from a large, beautiful beach. The town is small but there is a great fish and chip restaurant within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay, and the owners were kind and welcoming.

Chickadee Rest - Riverside Campsite

I spent two nights here and really enjoyed my stay. Hosts were excellent with communication and very welcoming upon my arrival. Site is very well clean and well-maintained and backs up to the Mindemoya River, with a nicely cleared path, providing access down to the river if you so desire. The entire camping area was mowed and hook ups were easy to use, with trash and recycling receptacles right at my site. The hosts are the newest generation to manage and operate this business which has been in the family for several generations. In addition to the camping site, there are cabin sites, as well. They are modernizing and upgrading and doing a good job of it, from what I could see. The shower area was clean and modern with good hot water and good water pressure. Chickadee’s Rest and the other two similar sites were adjacent to, but separate from the cabin areas, giving a safe, peaceful feel. Fulford’s is within probably 100 meters or less from the boardwalk at the Providence Bay Beach. When I arrived, they shared with me that it was a great place to watch the sunset over the bay. It is also walking distance to pretty much everything in Providence Bay. I found it to be a right central location for my time exploring various areas of Manitoulin Island. House went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating to me, and if I ever return to the island, you can be certain that I will plan to stay with them again.

Hello! The bunkie was perfect! My favourite part was the deck outside of the cabin. I was able to enjoy the outdoor space right outside my door. The cabin has everything you need. I will definitely be back.
