I selected Cedar Rock Farm because they raise ancient and rare breeds, notably canadian horses, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, cows, etc. I extended my stay to spend more time with the animals and to take photos. I highly recommend this site to anyone who loves animals. It is a paradise for kids. Dogs are welcome and mine was exhausted at the end of the day from all the encounters, smells and sounds. I would however discourage from brigning a reactive or dog with a high prey drive as chicks, ducks, geeses, turkeys, etc are plenty and all run free around the property, along with the four household dogs and cats. All animals living there seek human contacts and greet you when you get close.
Bob and Kathleen are wonderful new Hipcamp hosts. They will introduce you to their menagerie and accomodate your needs. Plenty of options to park your van, camper or motorhome or pitch your tent.
Overall, its the perfect site for animal lovers and photographers. Also a great place for kids to learn and experience where eggs and meat come from. On your arrival, you will be greeted by the dogs who seem most happy to have visitors. They are all very well manered and they spend the night outside on watch duty, making it pratically impossible for any wild animal such as coyotte or skunk to approach your site. I slept tight knowing they were around

This experience was amazing! Bob and Kathleen are awesome and professionally educated farmers, and are passionated about what they do. They have many different animals on the farm and we got the opportunity to spend time with them. Bob and Kathleen made our family feel welcomed and gave us a glimpse of what farm life is like. On the farm there are different spots to park at, some close to the animals and others on a field with more privacy. Highly recommended place to visit with kids to get introduced to animals and farm life. ( We also purchased some free range duck and chiken eggs which we collected right out of the coop!) :)
