Built in 1860, our brick farmhouse is an area icon, and we are so very fortunate to be stewards of this beautiful homestead. Less than a mile from Lake Erie, we have seven idyllic acres where we grow our own vegetables and fruits, raise chickens and bees, make sourdough bread in our cottage bakery, brew beer and wine, and create art in Copper Leaf Studios (onsite!). We are a monarch waystation and have several acres dedicated to pollinators, native plants and trees, and all of the happy insects, birds, and animals that come along with them. We are advocates of inclusion, local community, and sustainable living. We love telling and hearing good stories. We believe in the powers of kindness and peace. We hope to share our part of the world with others. We are very happy to offer a place where your pup(s) can spend time off leash and enjoy some rest and relaxation with you! We have firewood onsite for HipCamper use (included in price) and if you'd like breakfast, we are happy to make you a homemade breakfast that will almost always include food grown/raised on our farm and/or locally (breakfast is included for the Peace Portal tiny house and Covered Wagon sites, and can be added to tent camping for a reasonable cost). We have a composting toilet outhouse as well as a half-bath with a flushable toilet. Much like our farm's name, our place is warm, welcoming, rustic, and a bit gritty.

We really enjoyed our stay at Flannel Dog Farm. It was just the relaxing get away we were looking for. Our dog loved roaming around the field and watching his first experience with chickens was fun. Alan and Chris were great hosts and communication was top notch. Definitely don't skip on adding breakfast if you have the chance...it's great.

First Solo Camp
Alan really made the booking and communication processes seamless, and provided me with all the flexible booking and accommodations I needed. I did wish the firepit was closer to where I camped, which wasn't far, but given the wet conditions over the previous week, I totally understood. I felt relaxed and peaceful to say the least, I really enjoyed my time away, thanks, Alan and Chris!

Peace Portal Tiny House
Charming, rustic, relaxing!
It was a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable & the blankets were warm. The hosts were very welcoming, & are great cooks. The sounds of the surrounding nature & wildlife (& chickens) lulled us to sleep. It was a beautiful view to wake up to. The property is charming & rustic. It’s not walkable to the Lake, or anywhere, so you’ll need to drive for dinner, but there’s a few great options around that Alan will tell you about, & they even have vegetarian options. It was a relaxing stay & we would definitely come again.

Peace Portal Tiny House
Perfect place for peace
The name of the place, "Peace Portal" was extremely fitting. There is a serene sense there and it is a wonderful place to take a breather from life. The hosts were very friendly and the farm-fresh breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. We look forward to returning in the future.

Get ready to relax...
This farm is located in an ideal location just a short drive away from the lake, shops, dining, etc. It was nice to have options to explore and it was also a peaceful place to sit, contemplate and gear down. The hosts are very welcoming, shared their vision for their property and made us feel at home. Don't miss Alan's sourdough bread or chatting with Chris about her artwork. The energy here is outstanding and we highly recommend it. Good for solo retreating, couples or families. Pro-tip: bring your star gazing app or telescope...the sky is HUGE here!

Our stay at the farm was short but very sweet! The property is beautiful, and we got to enjoy a spectacular sunset. The camping sites are tucked away behind an outbuilding so they feel very private. Our dog got to meet chickens, ducks, and a miniature horse named Buck, so he got his farmyard fix!

We can't say enough great things about our experience at Alan's farm. The setting was beautiful, Alan was an amazing host, and the delicious home-brewed beer and breakfast we're icing on the cake. Our kids loved the animals and we really appreciated Alan patiently letting them help with the animal chores. The site was very close to the lake for swimming and easy to get to. We will definitely come again! Wouldn't have changed a thing.

Wonderful little campsite not far from Geneva on the Lake. Great little lake view at the end of the road where you can watch the sunset over Lake Erie.

Alan and Chris were such great hosts! They were both very welcoming and kind and offered me many options of places to go and see during my stay there. The property was absolutely beautiful and I was given multiple options as to where I could pitch my tent. They even had a bunch of campsite supplies waiting in case I needed anything. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet...as well as watching their family of ducks roam the property. At night I lit a fire and watched the stars. Overall, a great two days of camping and would definitely recommend stopping here if you're in the area!

Staying at the farm was a really fun experience. Alan was very nice and helpful. The field behind the barn was very secluded and the fire pit area was perfect for roasting hotdogs and making a nice country breakfast in the morning. The homemade cider and beer was especially tasty as well :) We would stay again.

Flannel Dog Farms was fantastic. Jeff and Chris were kind, generous and knowledgeable hosts. We had our pick of camp sites, laid-back tutorials on an array of hobby farm pursuits (beer brewing, geese, chickens, oh my!), firefly catching and even a lovely breakfast (with homemade bread and quiche) after we got caught in an early morning downpour. The property is lovely, very well-appointed and there's even a curmudgeonly mini-horse to visit. If you're looking for a romantic spot or traveling with kiddos (like us), we can't think of a better spot.

Alan and Chris are extremely welcoming and generous hosts! Thank you for sharing your beautuful farm with us, not to mention the fridge full of homebrewed beers and ciders to enjoy around the campfire and a delicious breakfast with homemade sourdough bread, homemade tomato jam, and fresh honey from the hive! Thank you for the tour of all the things living and growing on your farm. The tent site was very comfortable and we highly recommend this stay to anyone on a cross-country road trip like us, or just looking for a fun way to camp among the fireflies. We hope to come back!

We had a lovely stay at Flannel Dog Farm. The property is beautiful and Alan was a great host- providing cooking utensils, water, firewood, and a fridge full of his glorious home brews. The composting toilet was really nice! We loved meeting the chickens and ducks, checking out the vegetable gardens, and peeking in Chris's art studio. A great location for spending time on the beach or paddling the Ashtabula River.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the Flannel Dog Farm camp spot. I have recommended it to multiple other people already. We don't have children yet but we both agreed this would be a very family friendly place to take your kids
