We never found it!! We found all the locations exce;pt the hipcamp ones. We must be doing something wrong because we ended up going exwhere.

*beware* Unfortunately, not only was it difficult to find the place, but also as we arrived, we had to go through a rough road to get to an uncut field on which our tent would not have had an even flat surface to stay on. We tried contacting the host multiple times but the number doesnt exist. We also knocked at the door of the barn at the front, there was no one. Also, there was no toilet available. Avoid at all costs.

Needs better identification from the street & at the barn. painted telephone poles & 'no trespassing' doesn't provide it. Neighbor with a large shop said they have a lot of 'looking' campers.
The steeply rutted and long rough grass 'driveway' to the sites should state high clearance. / 4 wheel drive necessary.
The 'sites' should be identified & mowed with at least a parking area that isn't deeply rutted and covered by long rough grass. There wasn't any gravel I saw.
I've been a HipCamp and other app client for years, this is the first rime I've placed any type of negative review.
I paid, yet found somewhere else to stay.
Property has potential. Needs work to meet the ad.

We did NOT manage to stay on this site. At first we had great difficulties in finding it, since the signing - as mentioned in the owners directions, was nowhere to be found. In the end we were pretty sure we were at the right place, both by comparing the house numbers of the neighbours and relying on our navigation. We did not find any house number on the site.
The mentioned hostel where we were supposed to check in was invisible too.
We followed the path into the field, as also mentioned in the message. We hoped to see someone or something linked to camping, but we only met pretty aggressive bugs. In between we phoned the number in the hipcamp message twice, but only got to know that the number currently is not in use!
So finally we just decided to leave and look for an alternative campsite. We were pretty grumpy by then, also since this was the most expensive site we booked.

No emergency number at the road. Phone number disconnected so couldn’t get ahold of anyone.The camping area was very rough with no grass cut. Could barely get through with 4 wheel drive truck. The place is a joke. Don’t waste your money. Go somewhere else.

Kevin was very nice and welcoming! I took the spot a short drive back on the property next to a little pond with artesian well water. The site was packed gravel and level- good for sleeping in my van. The best part was the bathrooms in the nearby barn with showers!

Remote spot with cool drive to back field.
About an imperial foot of snow was on the ground when we arrived. Almost got the Subaru Outback stuck where the snow was deep, but made it out and back while having fun along the way.
The hip camp add advertised showers and a washroom at the Hostel, but after reading the host's response to a another review I discovered the facilities are summertime only.
All in all the location was convenient in relation to Cabot Trail. It was nice to have the option of winter camping.
I take it the road is usually unmaintained, as that's how we found it, so AWD/4WD and high ground clearance are a MUST to visit this spot in winter.

It definitely has potential but definitely don’t recommend and the description should tell you that you that you have to drive a over grown path to get anywhere definitely not tenter friendly the grass was so tall couldn’t put a tent anywhere and you also had to pay 10$ to use the bathroom host was super friendly but not worth the money we left and found somewhere else to camp

Kevin's camping place was real open and private. It was also super close to the Cabot trail which was handy for us.
The pathway to get there was a bit tricky as there were some swampy areas, so make sure not to go off the pathway. The bugs were not the best, but Kevin plans to do more property maintenance in the future will likely help. We didn't utilize the showers or electricity by the (regular, not 30 Amp for our trailer) because we preferred the privacy instead.
Much appreciated and worked for us, but maybe not for everyone. Super hip though.

The place seems great for the hostel, but really not ideal for camping outside. There's only a little rock firepit and it was on another tent site that was occupied, there was not picnic tables anywhere and not a single tree for the shade. If you want access to the showers and indoor kitchen you got to pay 20$ more, and 5$ more if you want wifi. Overall, I don't think it was worth it for the price. The owner was nice and I hope he can upgrade the place to make it better for camping in tents.

Beautiful view if you go up the hill to camp there. Be aware, the grass is pretty tall, so a regular ground tent might not be recommended but you can camp close to the house wich is fine too. Super welcoming people. Super quiet and calm. No toilets/shower, but the owners are open for us to use theirs with a little extra.

This place has potential but needs a lot of work.
There is very little signage and leaves you questioning if you have the right location. The host directions were to drive straight back to the field except when we did that you couldn't see the field well as the weeds were 4ft high. Nothing was mowed so you didn't feel confident where to drive. You deffientaly couldn't get back there if you had a car or planned to tent camp.
This location was convenient to the start of the Cape Breton.
We did pay $10 per person to use the showers, which were nice.
Overall we did choose to stay at an overflow site in the national park instead.

Very primitive camping. Huge field to camp in with great views. The gypsum pond was super!!! So refreshing and what a view from the top of the rocks.

Weird place to be. The camp is not open, they take one reservation at the time. We had to camp in the parking lot because the grass was to tall elsewhere to drive too. We had access to toilets and showers inside. No dogs allowed inside. It was pouring rain the day we came, put some laundry to dry in the dryer in place. The owner took it out and haven’t say a word on it to us.
There is a lot of campings around town, we should have took the one in the provincial park instead, will have more services and cool places to be than a parking lot with metal and wood in the backyard.
