Learn more about this land: This cozy off-grid rustic Cut River Cabin has a Sauna 3 bedrooms and a loft that will sleep 10. 120 acres with over 1.3 miles of private riverfront on the pristine Cut River that flows out of beautiful Higgins Lake Michigan. Approximately 10 minutes/7 miles from the beaches of South Higgins Lake State Park, or the Village of Roscommon which has a full-service supermarket (Family Fare) hardware and outdoor supply stores, and a handful of restaurants. It's a great spot for a quiet retreat away from people, traffic, pollution, and the stresses of modern digital life with the closest neighbor being over 2 miles away. Enjoy the river, paddling in our canoes, fishing, and swimming. Get out in the woods by hiking or biking through nearly 2,000 acres of public state land and trails surrounding the property. Included are SNOWSHOES in the winter and CANOES in the summer The Cut River Cabin is a completely off-the-grid property that relies on solar power. Beautiful setting, and a well-equipped rustic cabin! Jeremey was incredibly helpful answering our questions ahead of the trip, and made sure everything was ready for our arrival. So peaceful and relaxing! Our husky Tala loved being able to explore. We loved the covered deck, the sauna, and being able to use the canoes on the crystal clear river. Can’t wait to visit again during different times of the year!

This place was good for the soul. The beautiful river, the sandy beach, fire pit, no TV or road noise made this the perfect getaway. We will be back and will stay longer. The outhouse was clean and well stocked. What a gem!

I loved staying at the Cut Water Cabin! We loved the canoes, the bags game, and the fire pit! Plus the shower and outhouse were so clean!

We loved hanging out by and in the river all day. Our goal for the stay was to enjoy being outside by the water with the dogs. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the environment without having to be bothered by other folks and their unleashed dogs. We enjoyed playing on the kayaks as well. The beauty and sounds of nature was a perfect backdrop of the disconnect from the world. There was ample shade by the sandy beach to allow for relaxing. The river bed was sandy and not mucky. We saw lots of birds and a baby water snake. The outhouse was clean and setup for your comfort. The cabin was too warm to hang out in during the day but why would you when outside was perfect. Inside the cabin was clean and free from pests. We had brought our Jackery generator which allowed us to recharge the batteries of our shop fans. It may be too warm in the summer without a fan or two in you while sleeping. We had a great time and look forward to staying in the fall where it’s warm during the day and cooler at night.

This place is incredible! River out front is deep enough to swim and fish in, there’s lot of kayaks and canoes to take up river, lots of sleeping space, very secluded, nice deck, and even a sauna! We will definitely be coming back!

The cabin is very cute and cozy, and nice to be disconnected. I took my dog for her first ever canoe ride, we did some hiking, enjoyed the sauna, looked at the stars, saw a bald eagle. Truly a little slice of heaven and a very special space. Looking forward to returning in the future

CUT RIVER CABIN AT HIGGINS LAKE
I loved staying here it was great to step away from the modern world and into all manual water and wood burning stove. I only stayed one night though so staying another night might be too much work nonetheless was a very pleasant experience. I should have taken a brighter lantern for more lighting. Definitely having headlamps helps for walking to the outhouse at night. Overall loved it and would like to come back in the summer I didn’t stay long enough to get a chance to try out the sauna.

CUT RIVER CABIN AT HIGGINS LAKE
Had an amazing time with the family at Jeremy's cabin. Such an awesome setup with the cabin, river, sauna and secluded property. The river was crystal clear and there is a ladder perfect for cold plunges after the sauna. The kids had a blast playing on the beach area and running around outside. Nice covered back porch with picnic table and a perfect view of the river for sunrise and sunset. Cabin was well stocked with just about everything you'd need. Wood stove kept the cabin nice and warm. 10/10, we hope to come back for another fall trip as well as the other 3 seasons. Couldn't ask for a better getaway spot to spend time with the family and get away from the distractions of the day to day. Jeremy was a great host and helped with directions and made sure we got to the cabin without issues.

We loved staying at the Cut River Cabin. Jeremey met us there and showed us around. The cabin was spacious and clean, the scenery was beautiful, and the sauna and new deck were the cherry on top. The days we stayed there were HOT, so many dips in the clean, cool water were taken. I believe it was advertised as off-grid, but there are amenities such a pitcher pump with potable water, and solar-powered outlets which really elevated the experience and made us feel like we weren't "roughing it". We will be back, probably in the Fall when I'm sure the scenery will be epic!

Cozy Cabin on Cut River!
CUT RIVER CABIN AT HIGGINS LAKE
This cabin is secluded, peaceful, and the perfect getaway from every day life! Had a relaxing, beautiful time! The canoes and kayaks were a nice bonus since it’s right on the lovely Cut River! Also loved the sauna and wood burning stove! Very cozy!

We had a great time at the Cut River Cabin! The wood stove kept us cozy and we enjoyed all the opportunities for recreation (sauna, lots of hikes, and some paddling on the river). Kids, dog, and visiting grandparents all had fun, and we'd definitely love to come back!

Amazing piece of paradise! The land is wonderous and worth spending time in; the cabin is perfectly suited to the spot. Hosts were responsive and caring, easy to figure out what's good. Especially recommend canoeing around with the provided watercraft.

When we woke up to snow covered trees it felt like we were in a winter wonderland. This is a beautiful clean property. The sauna didn’t take long to heat up at all and was a highlight of our trip.

Such a beautiful and special location! We came for a women's weekend and loved how secluded and private it was. 3 kayaks and many canoes available for use. You can walk, bike or canoe to hiking/biking trails at the state park. We took an afternoon canoe down to Marl Lake and saw no other people except at the place where the State Park trail comes out. I absolutely loved my time here and want to come back as much as possible! A couple things to note: Make sure to confirm the check in and check out times with Jeremey. We had a lot of confusion around this and hipcamp had an earlier check in and later check out listed than Jeremey expected. (He has it listed on VRBO differently.) The sauna is also not that well insulated, so it takes a lot of wood to keep warm! (which is provided, just know you will need to start it well in advance.) Kitchen has basics for 6 people, if you had more you would need to bring your own. Has some basic pots and pans that are all older. Nothing fancy. And we had to use mugs as bowls. Also, when we were there someone had blown the solar panel by using a hairdryer, so none of the outlets work. There was a generator for electricity, but we felt that ruined the peace and quiet so just made due with lanterns. I would recommend bringing extra battery powered lights. The cots in the loft do not have bedding, but all other beds have sheets and a comforter. I recommend bringing extra blankets in fall/winter. 3 rooms, 2 with full beds, one with 2 twins.

We had a wonderful weekend at Jeremy's Cut River Cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for. A perfect private Northern Michigan cabin nestled in the wood along a pristine river. We will definitely be back!

Wow! This cabin was awesome! I'd definitely come back! Plenty of amenities at this cabin as well as great views! The sauna is a nice feature! Jeremey was super helpful with finding the cabin with pre arrival instructions!
