We absolutely loved our stay here. The yurt was amazing! The hosts were super nice and this place had awesome vibes. Lots of trails to explore, and at night it's quiet with only nature sounds. Would definitely go back

The Redtail Yurt
The Light Center is easy to find even though it's off the beaten path. Rain that night was horrible but one of the staff (Andrew) came to ensure we had propane for heating the yurt and to check if we needed anything else. O'Dell the GSD is very calm and welcoming and he was fine with our kids. Folks using the trail that passes by the yurt were outgoing and personable. I imagine the land is an even better experience in the spring and we'll plan to return then for hiking and camping in the meadow across the creek.

The Redtail Yurt
My first time in a Yurt
The red tail yurt was spacious and zen . We did a fire and Made s’mores for the traditional campout feel! The star garden was beautiful ~ we spent an hour under the glowing sky looking at constellations. In the morning did we some peaceful yoga, went for a walk in the woods, and said hello to chickens and goats ! It was a nice romantic trip away as a couple and I look forward to going back with the kids

Contemplative Escape to Nature
The Light Center is a lovely place to stay. It was the perfect halfway point on my long road-trip & just what I needed: nature, space to stretch, comfy place to sleep & a warm welcome. I was lucky enough to attend their full moon meditation! Everyone I met was so kind. The Yurt I stayed in is definitely more of a primitive camping experience (no electric, etc) but I loved the experience. I would love to stay again sometime. Thanks Robin & friends! 🤍
P.s don’t get there after dark like I did (I’m not a good road-trip planner) because it’s very difficult to navigate on the gravel country roads & adds unnecessary stress.

Practical and magical
The whole property is great, the woods are magical with more butterflies, mushrooms and toads than I could have hoped for. Everyone on sure was warm, kind and welcoming. The yurts are great for those unsure about tent/primitive camping but want to reconnect to nature. Composting toilets and outdoor shower area well maintained Honestly can't wait to come back. I definitely recommend staying anywhere at The Light Center.

A very special place
I LOVE The Light Center! Robin and all the care takers are amazingly friendly, helpful, and give you all the tips and tricks to have an great time. Go pick the black raspberries in the morning for fresh fruit in your breakfast then meditate with the hummingbirds in the garden across from the Creation Station.
The forest really is Enchanted :)
Odell will greet you as you drive in, he’s a sweetheart and just wants pet so make sure to stop and give the dog some love.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway in nature as a couple, filled with walking and hiking trails; or needing to escape the city with your dog - this is the place to do it.
T.L.C is a very special place where the healing forces combine to fill the land with good energy. I’ll be going back for years to come.

Beautiful, Welcoming Space!
The Light center is such a beautiful, welcoming, calm space, with equally welcoming and warm people on site. There are little surprises everywhere from the farm to the fairy garden. Beds were comfy and it was awesome to have access to a shower, kitchen, and fire pit. Would definitely recommend!

Very serene place to camp with friendly people and quiet nights (as far as people noises go--still plenty of wildlife noises!) I wish my schedule had allowed more time to relax and wander the paths.

Great get away!
We love the Yurt! Your own little private space to get away and enjoy the outdoors with the comfort of the yurt. This was our second time coming and we will be back again soon.

For a first yurt experience this was amazing! The only complaint that I could really have comes from my boyfriend who has a bad back. The mattress was too long for the frame and thus had his head lifted and his body sank, putting pressure on his back.

Stay in The Loft
This is one of the best three night stays I’ve had. I normally love to go tent camping and I normally like to go with my dog year around. I am from San Diego California and I’ve only lived in Kansas eight months so I was looking for an alternative and the loft was just the thing what a great piece of property to walk around on I loved it my dog Jeffrey loved it. Robin was very good at communicating with me back-and-forth. The people that were staying on the grounds were very friendly and Odell their dog was awesome.

The Redtail Yurt
It was a good experience but…
First off, overall we had a very good time at this location. However, I have two complaints that I hope get fixed for the next campers. First off, being that we went to the Yurt on a chilly night, the heater was a necessity. When we were trying to get the heater going I realized that the propane connected to it was out. I had went up to finish unpacking and happened to see a propane tank sitting out in the grass. Assuming this was for us I asked the young lady there for confirmation of which she said she wasn’t sure. We still ended up taking it and it seemed to be fine. Then I found that the only way to get the empty one off was with a wrench, which I did not just happen to have one on me. I had to ask one of the random people staying on the property to supply me with one. We got lucky because when I went to the main house no one was there to assist me. I felt this was something that should’ve been taken care of prior to our arrival or it at least should’ve been easier to communicate with our hosts. There is also zero cell service out there so making a quick call or text is nearly impossible.
Secondly, the pictures on the listing seem to be a bit out of date. The yurt was not nearly as well kept and clean as the pictures make it look out to be.
On a positive note, the property was very nice and the people staying there were as well. We had a good time but I do believe for an $60/night (+ about an additional $20 in cleaning fees and tax) these things should be tightened up. I would love to come back out to this location at some point just for the experience and good energy but do hope no one else has to go though that.

Great little retreat
Unfortunately I arrived very late after a long travel day, but the hosts had set up lights at the front of the short trail to the yurt so I could find my way! The yurt itself was beautiful - incredibly spacious and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again!

Robin was a lovely host, and Andrew was very helpful in showing me around when I arrived! The yurt itself was delightful, though the mice did help themselves to some food I had laying out, I can’t say I blame them. Beautiful woods to walk around, and sitting by the fire was wonderful, even later in the season. Highly recommended!

Sweet sweet dog
I was in-n-out but very appreciative of their flexibility with my late arrival time. Very sweet farm set up with clear directions on how to get there. Wish I could have spent more time.
Such a handsome German shepherd.
