Nestled on Kootenay Lake in Balfour BC, The Watershed Campground is located 20 minutes from the adventurous city of Nelson and 30 minutes to the quaint village of Kaslo. We welcome all types of campers with a mix of full hook up sites and traditional dry camping sites. Max trailer size is 25ft. Onsite flush toilets are available for campers. Guests have access to the beach for all of the water activities including, but not limited to: swimming fishing boating (nearby rentals) floating SUP (bring your own) kayak/canoe (bring your own)

Site A is a walk in tent site with no power or water. The walk is approximately 30 seconds. Your vehicle is parked very close to the site. Your site is in a treed area that is well shaded and level for your tent. We have both picnic tables and fire pits. Onsite flush toilets. The beach is a 1 minute walk down a well levelled path for all of your fishing, swimming and water activities. Beach fires are allowed in designated fire pits granted there are no local fire bans. Firewood is available for purchase.

Site A is a walk in tent site with no power or water overlooking Kootenay Lake. It is situated on a grassy area with a mix of sun and shade and is well treed. Picnic table on site and fire pits on the beach. The fires are allowed in designated fire pits granted there are no local fire bans. Firewood is available for purchase, however propane fire pits are a great alternative. Flush toilets are a short walk away.

Site 5 is perfect for those who are looking to car camp, or have a small self contained motorhome/camper van under 20 feet. It is easy access to pull in or back in. Well shaded and level. 2 minute walk to the beach for fishing, swimming, rock hounding, floating and simply enjoying the fresh water and mountain views!

Site 4 is a leveled gravel area in the upper section of our campground. Is has great access for a pull trailer with ample parking for towing vehicle. Easy access to exit and entry and a short walk down the path to the beach.

Site 4 was awesome, as was Kait and her family. Loved the location and being able to go down to the dock and enjoy the peaceful mornings by the water!

We enjoyed staying on Kait's land. They were very accommodating and we're able to upgrade us to a site where we could park next to our camp. Beach and dock were great! Enjoyed swimming and hanging out on the dock.

Beautiful site. A great, quiet place to camp in this area. My boys loved the little beach and running off the dock. Bathrooms were kept extremely clean for a campground.

We had an awesome relaxing weekend at the watershed. Kait and J were great hosts and their boys provided top notch firewood deliveries. We really enjoyed the beach and floating around in the water. Pro tip: Bring your Crocs or Watershoes

We were greeted by Kait and her partner who were very welcoming and super laid back. The location couldn’t be better. You’re a 1 minute walk to the beach and half way to Nelson, Kalso and hiking or waterfall adventures. Flush toilets and a washing station for your cooking are only a few steps away. The firewood bundle they sell lasts a long time. I will note the site is not very private as your neighbours on both sides are separated by a rocks and sparse trees. So if you’re ok with less privacy it is a gem of a spot.

Me and my sister had a great time camping at Watershed on site 14. Kait and her team were very accommodating. The lake side campground was just what we needed! Very clean washrooms and dish cleaning area! We will definitely be back!

Amazing location! Close to the ferry, multiple hikes and short drive to Nelson. Very clean sites and powered washroom with flush towels. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Having water access right there is an added bonus.

We really enjoyed our stay in our tent site! We were the first campers in that site, and it was a very workable site…nice tent space, defined space for a picnic table, and the owners were amazing! Very hospitable, welcoming and ready to help! Book it, you’ll be glad you did!!

Our stay at the Watershed Campground was excellent. The set up was amazing and comfortable. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into what they are doing. Access to the beach was very nice and relaxing. The calmness in the morning while watching the fish rise sipping on morning coffee was a great way to start the day. A nice way to start the day and fill the soul. We were just staying the night while traveling along the Selkirk Loop. We had a delightful conversation with Rod upon arrival and had a nice greeting by the huskies on the way to the river. Despite having it rain on us all night, it was a very comfortable stay. We would highly recommend it for anyone who is passing through the area.
